Chapter 39: Church Breakdown

Eader ran fast, he ran hard but most importantly, he had to arrive at his destination. After the last intruder went to his house on Friday, he found a few things out. The washing machine was in a bad spot, and the clothes that he washed were given to charity.

He did it because there was always at once on a Sunday, at a local church, there would be a "give to god" celebration where people gave to belong to the church.

For the poor people. Well, that's what they say, but some are given to other fake charities. He woke up late and put on the soothing cream (actually, he had not noticed, but he slept for an entire day, this made him pee his pants but he was so tired he did not notice, and when he woke up, he just had a shower not releasing it).

The pain was less, he wore a yellow t-shirt which was a bit too small for him, and he wore acrylic, light-blue shorts, the perfect size. He wore his usual shoes, they had a red colour, with three white stripes.

He had water in his eyes, this made him smile, as it meant that it was windy, the cold brushed past him nicely. "This is a-" he swallowed a bug and put the plastic bag on the floor, daily transparent with all the diseased clothes. He coughed hard, a person looked at him, and kept on walking, looking in disgust.it finally came out, it twitched once but then lost its life.

He was glad it was out, but now his throat hurt.

Are you serious, we are not even halfway into September.

He made a grumpy face, but started to move, jogging in the same direction for five whole minutes. Then there it was. It had a whale area for the walkway, which was circular and connected itself round but had a raised green patch, with mossy concrete bricks, but it looked aesthetically pleasing.

The church had a great spire at the top, had a brown colour for walls all the way around, and had a triangular shape, there were a few tables selling things and even a sign saying Giving is God, come inside to give. It made Eader grind his teeth hard but kept on walking.

The guy on the counter of the table tried to call him over, but he ignored him.

Only here to give away the clothes.

It did make people give short and memorable glances at the bag, as it looked different and stood out, as the other people with bags just had the usual ones, or just carried them, not as colourful. He rushed on but tripped, this made a huge SQUEAK!!

A few people looked, but that's it, a kid even called him out, he sighed and dumped the clothes on the table, but a person, not the other side said," "um, ok, have you come here before?"

She had pieces of paper next to her, which were connected on a brown artificially wooden clipboard. "No," he started walking away but she said, "wait."

Eader was confused.

Did I do something wrong?

He called back," yes?" The look he gave was confused, he was nervous. Then she looked dazzled and jealous at the same time. She then screamed," you won the local charity prize this month!"

This astonished him, almost knocking him to the floor. That got the attention of many people, actually a whole lot of people, they started applauding him. Then they started crowding him.

"Well done young man."

"Wow, you sure are lucky."

"I wish I was him."

He got brittle, he tried moving from the centre of attention but he could not do so. He was puzzled by what he got," what did I win?"

He got looks, like an alien, he became afraid of the faces so he played cool.

"Just joking, I got confused which one," praying they would believe his fib. It worked. A few laughed when others gave a nod. He started walking closer to the table where he gave the clothes.

He gave a great smile," so when do I get the prize," he knew that if he gave the prize to somebody else, he would get starters and flares, and not the good or encouraging ones.

"You mean, when, right," this made him focus on what the prize was now. "Yes, yes, when do I go?" he stopped smiling, cautious for the response.

"You are gonna come here on Monday, ok," she was happy. Eader said it in great excitement, to hype things up," yes, yes I will," applause came from the people.

He hid his deceitful emotions.

I am an atheist though.
