Sword Arts Online: Darkness

What if the creator of Sword Arts Online had controlled Kirito and his friends, turning them into evil, and brought the game into the real world, turning it into a giant game world? Well, this is the situation where our ordinary protagonist Roxas Nietes, or Rohasu Nitama as his player name, had found himself. Being a foreign high school student living in Japan with his friends in a shared house owned by his school would make his life there difficult, but his intelligence on basically anything instead made him prepared and an actionist. He was an ambivert who loved music, art, writing, picture taking, philosophizing, and best of all, making scenarios of all kinds in his mind. So, the day before SAO was brought into the real world, Roxas had unknowingly received a mysterious-looking email from a player named Anko Tachibana, who was a deceased player. That email is a request for help because he, who knew Kirito and his friends before, wants someone to help them, who are now known as the Elite Players, snap from their state of being brainwashed by the game. Roxas accepted it after some thinking, but there’s one condition: he will be Anko’s vessel because Anko is now a spirit after his death in the game. To be free from Anko’s ghostly possession, he needed to complete the task in any way he could. Now that he was Anko’s vessel, what would Roxas do to do this big and seemingly impossible mission? Well, he will use his intelligence, ambivert personality, and scenario-making mindset to do it, plus action. That combination sounds ridiculous and unorthodox, but for him, it will be a good one. So, join him, Anko, and their friends in a now-altered reality fighting monsters and bosses across Aincrad-ridded Japan and getting into the Tower while trying to get Kirito and his friends out of their brainwashed state. But the dark side of Sword Art Online was slowly revealed as Roxas and his friends went deeper and deeper for their mission through their spirit guardians. One of them was the origins of Eugeo and Alice (This was what if Eugeo and Alice were once humans who were killed and were forced to be bots in the games?) Chapter 14 – Anko’s guarantee of survival

Third person POV

At a hospital in the neighborhood, both checked with a doctor available at this hour. After much checking and examination, the doctor concluded that Roxas was completely fine. Minato was shocked. "What? How? He got stabbed!" The doctor then shrugged. "I don't know. Your friend is completely fine. His test results on his stab wound returned negative, meaning that he is fine and normal."

Roxas was stunned. "Are you sure about that, doc?"

The doctor then nodded. "Yes."

Because of that, both Roxas and Minato decided to accept this as reality.

So, Minato paid the fee to the doctor for Roxas, and he and Roxas left the hospital.

But along the way back home, both boys couldn't help but wonder about how Roxas managed to survive such a lethal stab. Roxas was curious, though, but then, someone within him came out and appeared before him and Minato while levitating from the ground.

"Hello, you two," that person, Anko Tachibana, greeted the two boys, "nice to meet you two."

Roxas and Minato stopped walking and were stunned to see him floating and levitating.

 "Who are you?"

 "How can you float?"

"My name is Tachibana Anko," replied Anko with a smile, "and I am a dead player in this game."

"What?" Roxas was shocked and dumbfounded by his response. "You are? Wait a minute, are you the one who sent me that email of SOS to me?"

Minato heard the last part and looked at his friend. "Wait, what? What email?"

"Oh, that one?" Anko responded. "That would be the one I wrote as a last hope for help before I would die."

The spirit then looked at Roxas. "And it seems that this young fellow had accepted it."

Anko is a Japanese boy with black hair and blue eyes, wore a black and red hoodie that concealed his standard black Gakuran high school uniform. He also wore blue and white shoes with shoelaces. His age is 17.

Roxas was shocked, again, and Minato had questions for him.

"Okay, okay, let's just explain it somewhere secluded, okay?" Roxas tried to calm Minato down.

So, the three of them went to a nearby alleyway so Roxas could explain everything regarding the email and Anko. A few minutes later, Minato got all that. "Wow, but why you didn't tell me, or even Koyuki-chan and Shuto-kun about that? We could've help you with that!" Roxas felt ashamed for hiding that secret from Minato and his friends. "Sorry…it's just…I might assume that you and the others don't know that game, and…I want to help him out by accepting his request for help."

Minato couldn't believe that but quickly understood the reason why Roxas would never tell him about that. "Ro-kun, it's okay, I understand you. Next time, tell me when you come across something suspicious or questionable, okay?"

Roxas was stunned that Minato understood him and was happy for him. "Thanks, Minato-kun."

Anko, who had been watching the whole time, then said to them in amazement, "Wow, you guys are friends, right?"

Minato glanced at him. "Yeah, we were housemates."

"We attended the same school, too," Roxas happily added.

"Woah, nice, you two," Anko replied back. "But anyway, I am Roxas' spirit guardian, and remember the time Roxas got stabbed by a strong player?"

Anko knew Roxas' name from the email address on his computer as a spirit.

"Yeah, that happened 20 minutes ago," Minato replied back.

Anko then smiled. "I was the one who saved him."

Roxas and Minato were stunned, and Roxas commented, "Woah…no wonder I survived that lethal stab."

"Yup, that was my ability as a spirit of a dead player," Anko replied with an explanation. "That will prevent you from meeting a similar fate in death."

Roxas and Minato got that.

 "Okay…"

"But what is your guarantee of survival for Ro-kun?"

"I am guaranteeing him a very high survival rate of 1,000 percent!" Anko responded while acting smart.

Roxas and Minato were then dumbfounded at that number.

 "What?"

 "You're exaggerating, aren't you?"

"No, I'm not," Anko looked at them. "I'm serious about Roxas' survival in this game, you know."

"Now, I see," Roxas replied back, before thinking in his mind, "With my survival rate being maxed to the high, now I need to beef up my stats and abilities and everything…"
