"Enough." Sigrid frowned. "I'm not a tool for reproduction, nor a substitute for you. Don't use these words to make me unhappy. It won't do you any good."
She brushed past Rebecca and walked to George's office.
Rebecca turned and looked at Sigrid as she walked away. The smile on Rebecca's face became more and more proud.
"How could it not benefit me? As long as I see that you're not doing well, that is my greatest benefit!" Rebecca thought to herself.
It took Sigrid only 20 more steps before her mood improved.
Of course Rebecca was likely to say something that made her uncomfortable. After all, it wasn't because of her pre-marital affair that George had gotten angry and changed the bride. George had never cared about who the bride was. When it came to having a child, it seemed that it was Mrs. Toland who was very anxious about that. George was not in a hurry at all!
Otherwise, why would he have bought so many condoms to prevent her from getting pregnant?
