STRETCHING THE TRUTH.

Martin woke up, he had been absent from school for three days, so he wasn't sure how they would take it, especially his lovely teacher.

He had once promised himself that he would never miss it, but being powerful was his goal.

"Where are you going to?" Ace looked at him bright-eyed, he didn't sleep because he just didn't feel tired at all.

"To find a way to get rid of you." Martin smoothened his clothes, and got ready.

"Take me with you. I'm bored in this damned forsaken place."

Martin looked at the kid with an arched brow.

_I just said I wanted to find a way to kill you_

"I can't. I'll be asked some scary questions."

Martin was about to open the door when Ace appeared in front of him.

"I don't think anyone would care about a kid walking with a teenager. You'd be my elder brother."

The moment Ace completed that statement, he immediately cringed.

He didn't want to refer to this psycho as a big brother, but sacrifices had to made.

"I'm going to school Ace. I can't bring you along."

Martin tossed Ace aside, and opened the door.

"Well. I'd go out alone. I don't need you bossing me around like a little child." Ace murmured the moment Martin left the house.

The next second, the door to the house opened, and Martin popped his head into the room.

"Do not step out of this room Ace." Martin said, he never trusted the boy, and he knew that he would leave the place.

Ace didn't say a word only turning back to the kitchen.

Martin arrived at school, and walked straight to his class.

The moment he walked in, he realized that the class was a bit scanty, and there was no teacher in front of the class, or behind the desk.

Martin walked over to his seat, and he saw Lance staring a cute girl with glasses in front of him.

"Who you looking at?" Martin said the moment he sat down, and Lance had to put a finger in front of his mouth to warn him to be quiet as he didn't want the girl to notice him.

"It's a girl, Axton." Lance said causing Martin to roll his eyes.

"For f**k's sake, Lance. I'm not blind, and I can clearly see her tits, Lance. I know what she is."

Martin opened his book in front of him as he waited for the teacher to come in.

Lance who was staring at the girl saw her flinch a little at the sound of Martin's unfiltered words, and he frowned at Martin who had a smile on his face.

The bastard knew what he was doing.

After a few seconds, Sheila arrived in the class, and she taught them a new lesson.

She noticed the presence of Martin when she felt someone's eyes boring into her.

Martin on the other hand, despite the serious look on his face, and was trying to understand how such soft boobs could remain so firm.

He had already learnt what she was teaching in the library, so he had to while away his time.

Martin already knew that his talentless body didn't let him perform mana absorption on his own but he had a rune that allowed him to have some advantages, so there was nothing else to worry about except passing the magical examinations, dealing with that family head, and finding a way to go back home.

The class quickly went by, and Sheila called Martin to meet her after causing eyes filled with envy to finally notice that he was back.

Martin didn't want the attention but he already knew that there was no way to escape it as the most brilliant student in class.

He wasn't being prideful, it was just mere fact, and he simply enjoyed the reason for it.

"What happened to you, Axton?" Sheila gave Martin a small smile, as she arranged her files on her desk.

"It was a few days back, when I took a poor child in, Miss. I couldn't handle the fact that he was starving, and shivering from the cold." Martin hung his head down as he spoke.

Sheila immediately understood his situation, and a line of worry appeared on her forehead.

"Is the kid alright? What about you? How has it been on you?" Sheila grew closer to him, and held his hand.

She felt that he had done such a great act.

He was an orphan from what she had read about him.

He was struggling to live, yet he still had the heart to take in a child, and take care of that child.

It was something she thought only someone with a pure kind heart could do.

"Yes, teacher. I spent these last days trying to make sure I bring the little boy away from the claws of death. It has been hard but I would definitely survive."

Martin's eyes was on Sheila's hand, the hand she had used to hold him. Her hand was soft, and strangely comforting.

Sheila smiled at him,

"If you need anything make sure to ask me Axton. I'd try my best to help you."

With that little stretched truth, Martin had won over the heart of his teacher.

"I'm happy you have improved in your cultivation, you didn't slack off."

Martin was shocked when he heard the statement form Sheila's mouth.

It seemed that she had noticed it too. He nodded his head, and politely took his leave.

Martin met Lance by the door of the classroom.

"You know I won't believe that little tale you told the Miss."

Lance pushed his glasses up, indicating that he had seen through Martin's blatant lie.

"Well, I was just busy. Nothing less, and Nothing more." Martin raised his hands in defense.

Yes he lied, but by stretching the truth, wasn't meant to be as bad as it looked.

"Want to follow me to the library?" Martin smiled at Lance.

"Sure. What for?"

Lance casted a side glance at him.

"I want to return this book." Martin held out the Dark Alliance book he had borrowed from the library.

The moment Lance saw it, his eyes widened, and he immediately brought the book down so no one could see it.

"What's wrong?" Martin said with confused written across his face.

Lance stared into Martin's bright blue eyes as if he had gone mad.

"No one should see you with that book? Don't you know what the Dark Alliance is?" Lance said, his voice had dropped to a whisper.

"I do now, why was it in the library then?"

Martin said, he had picked the book out of curiosity.

"Only someone interested in the Dark Alliance would read the book." Lance uttered.

What Lance didn't know was that Martin came from a very simple world, where people did things just the way they liked, some out of curiosity, and some just to attain attention.

Martin didn't know that this specific book was placed so as to get the knowledge of those who wanted to get involved in the Dark Alliance.

"But the Librarian allowed me to take it. She didn't say anything bad was going to happen."

Martin felt suddenly betrayed, but he was used to it.

Still, he never thought that such a lady would not inform him of something this intense.

"She didn't know. It's possible, maybe she is a new one, " Lance said, he was deep in thought.

"Axton, what's her name?" Lance looked at Martin as they reached the door step of the library.

"I think it's Claire." Martin never really looked at the librarian's name tag, except that one time he had decided to check her out, and he saw her name on her tag.

"Oh. She isn't the one then. I guess you are safe."

Lance quickly relaxed, and they walked into the library to return the book.

"What's so bad about this Dark Alliance anyway?" Martin asked, he didn't understand why Lance was making such a fuss.

"Didn't you read the book?"

Lance quirked a brow, he expected that a book named Dark Alliance would definitely have everything about the Dark Alliance.

"Well I didn't really see anything specific, just some forbidden rituals, and spells." Martin placed the book back into the shelf he had found it.

"I see… I'll tell you a few at the cafeteria."
