Supreme Arcanist of Time and Space

[WSA Entry] Powerstones= More daily chapters. Kai was a magician who tried his best to make a living out of it, yet during one of his tricks, he got stabbed by swords. It was a stupid way to die, and during his final breaths, Kai only thought about how people would laugh at him when seeing the news. ‘This is the end, right?’ He believed it to be the end, but the higher forces had different plans for him. Kai got reincarnated into the body of a baby with the same name, living in a small village called Silka, part of the kingdom of Aakanan. A world dominated by magic, and ruled by a system that granted classes and levels to everyone. But the world has not always been like that… Kai, being a person from another world, received a passive related to Space-Time magic, and his destiny soon got intertwined with a heavenly artifact. A pocket-watch capable of rewinding time. ‘I can return one hour into the past? Isn’t this like cheating? I can literally become the best student in this magic academy!’ The pocket-watch had its flaws, obviously, but it quickly became a great tool for Kai, especially when strange murders started to happen in the magic academy he was in. But things were not so simple. Kai found himself trapped, chained by the power of time. He was in the middle of a bigger problem, one that could end the world. He was inside a time loop.

Luke's Task

Headmaster Finley showed them their dormitories, which would be their home from the whole year. The one Jane had was much better than the one Kai had, but that was to be expected.

"Kai, you will be staying alone here for now, but you will share it with another acolyte during the year, " Finley said, "Our school is big but there are too many students here."

That was only one of the reasons. The noble students paid way more money to the school, and that allowed them to get rooms for their own, not having to share with anyone else.

Kai didn't complain. He was more than happy to have the chance to stay in the school 2 months before the classes started.

Finley then looked at Kai with a serious gaze, "You can't enter the library. We cannot allow you to read the books as the classes will start in two months, and everyone will start at the same level. If we catch you there, you will be expelled. I already warned Jane about this too."

Jane could enter the library, but she could not share any knowledge from there with Kai, at least not till the classes started for real, and helping him get inside the library was out of the question too.

"I understand. Is there something else I should know about?" Kai asked.

He wanted to be certain of the things he could do, and the things he could not do. Getting expelled from such prestigious magic academy was something he didn't want to. That would ruin his life.

"Well, there are some rooms that say staff only, or students prohibited, so it's pretty obvious. I think that's it, for now. Now, I have other things to attend to," Finley said, turning around and leaving.

The principle of Brainheart Academy, one of the best in the kingdom, had plenty of things to do, especially with the classes starting in two months. Kai wasn't angry about the sudden leave.

What was worrying him was professor Luke who asked for his help the next day.

'What does he want with me? Why can't the other teachers help him?' Thought Kai, anxiety taking over him.

Kai got a better look of his room after the principle left. The room had two separated beds — one for him and the other one for the student that would share the room with him — and it also had a small bathroom inside, two desks and a fireplace which had a type of blue fire.

All the furniture inside was of high-quality, and the fur rug near the fireplace was expensive.

"There's even couches here! I never had such luxurious place before," said Kai.

The Brainheart Academy was luxurious in all parts, and its size was massive. Kai was not surprised when seeing that his room was THAT good. It was only normal for one of the best magic academies in the entire kingdom.

Rest was all he did during the remaining of his day. Kai read a few of his books till late, and went to the dining hall to eat dinner. He thought about practicing some magic, but he was too anxious about professor Luke and the thing he wanted help with, so concentrating in magic was something he could not do at that moment.

One of the things he did check was his new status. His first class was called Mana-Infused, and from there, many paths waited for him. The general idea was for him to reach the class called Acolyte, and keep increasing his Wisdom till he could reach the class called Arcanist.

Students in their last year often got the Arcanist class. A few genius got the class first throughout the years, but it was rare. Kai was almost reaching the necessary wisdom to become an Acolyte, which was pretty impressive.

'Jane told me that students got their Acolyte class at the end of the first year, so this means I am one year ahead of them regarding my wisdom level!'

Kai got access to his Sea of Consciousness way before most people, and while the nobles had private tutors to help them, Kai had one too! Jane was considered one of the best, as not everyone could become a teacher in the Brainheart Academy, and that contributed for his growth.

Anyway, despite his anxiety, his night of sleep went great. The bed was soft and he needed a proper rest after the whole journey. Silka village was too far from everything.

The following day started with a breakfast in the dinning hall. Kai was alone in the hall, eating a few pancakes and drinking some coffee when professor Luke showed up, sitting right beside him.

"I presume they talked to you about your task today," he said.

Professor Luke was young, and his long black hair coupled with his dark robes gave him a mysterious vibe, and a creepy one too.

Kai awkwardly smiled to him, "Headmaster Finley told me about it, but he didn't say what it was."

He expected Luke to share more information about the task but he didn't say a word. Professor Luke just started eating, ignoring him completely and not caring at all to give him some explanation.

Did Kai move? Of course not! Luke was terrifying, and Kai was afraid that his life would turn into a living hell if Luke disliked him.

After they both ate their breakfast, Luke ordered Kai to follow him. They left the school and went into the surrounding forest, following a cobblestone path toward a hut in the middle of the forest.

"Your job today is take care of a few beasts for me," Luke said, "I will show you the beasts and how to feed them."

The task seemed way more simple than Kai had expected. When Finley told him that he would have to help Luke in the middle of the forest, Kai was already imagining him fighting against beasts or doing dangerous stuff.

"This is a young Griffin. It's called Feathers, and you can use feed him with chickens," Luke explained, showing a type of magical refrigerator with lots of dead chicken inside.

Feathers was big, its silver-colored wings a beautiful thing to behold. It was just a puppet, and one created in a controlled environment, so it was not aggressive like the ones found in the wilderness, and it was way smaller than an adult griffin too.

But still, getting so close to such majestic beast made Kai feel small, and because his magical prowess was close to zero when it came to combat, he was scared of the beast.

"I also have a cat that you need to feed, but this one should be easy for you," Luke continued, "These tasks may sound simple, but they are of extreme importance. I will be out for the day. You can stay in my hut till the night. But don't wander in the forest," Luke said.

Luke showed him the hut and where Kai could find food when he needed it, and then he left, leaving Kai alone there.
