"Enough! Kara has been in the ice for so long without a problem, and you just touched that ice box and started yelling here?" Lorna glared at Pietro with dissatisfaction. She was embarrassed by Pietro's behavior at the moment and really didn't want to acknowledge this unreliable brother.
"How can I be the same as Kara? If you don't believe it, go try how terrifying that ice box is!" Pietro retorted, looking unconvinced.
"I know how terrifying that ice box is, so I'm not going to touch it!" Lorna retorted irritably, "If it wasn't for Robert here, even if your arm was frozen and shattered, no one could have saved you!"
With a buzz, during Lorna and Pietro's conversation, Robert had already used his healing magic. Aside from Lorna and Susan Storm, who were psychics, Pietro's physical constitution was probably the weakest among the Z fighters; he had merely touched the ice box, and his fingers were already severely damaged.
As Lorna said, if it hadn't been for Robert's presence, Pietro's reckless behavior could have easily ended badly. But for now, that was just Pietro's character, and without experiencing something significant, it would be hard for him to change.
"Look, Robert is much calmer than you. What are you rushing for?" Pietro, noticing his fingers were healing, even boasted a bit to Lorna, "It's not a big deal. If Robert wasn't here, I wouldn't casually touch unknown objects."
"Hmm?!" While Pietro was speaking, Robert suddenly frowned. He gazed toward the sky where a rainbow light appeared again. At the end of the rainbow light, Robert could vaguely see a robust old man holding a golden staff, staring in their direction.
It turned out that in Asgard, the Allfather Odin had bestowed his Odinforce on Heimdall, while also continuously deducing Loki's possible whereabouts after the destruction of the Bifrost Bridge. After a thorough search, there was no trace of Loki anywhere...
Feeling that Loki was probably in grave danger, a wave of sorrow and anger surged in Odin's heart. Under such circumstances, he couldn't concern himself with who was right or wrong between Loki and Robert; he only wanted to avenge Loki!
"Odin? The Allfather?" Meanwhile, Thor, who was in training, seemed to sense something and looked bewildered toward the sky. He felt the energy of the Bifrost Bridge and even sensed the presence of Odin. But confusion in Thor's eyes was soon replaced by hatred.
"Odin?" As the distant Thor looked up into the sky, Clark also noticed Odin at the end of the Bifrost Bridge along with Robert. He flew up with Robert and Kara, seriously addressing Odin, "Allfather, what do you mean by this?"
"Superman, I respect you, but this Robert has severely injured my son Loki and thrown him off the Bifrost Bridge, missing and his fate unknown. You must give me an explanation!" Odin took a deep breath and said solemnly to Clark.
"So, have you figured out the whole story?" Clark frowned and seriously asked Odin.
"I know the whole story well. Loki had no ability to hurt them..." Odin began, but Clark cut him off.
"So, you are not approaching this situation rationally, but emotionally. There's nothing more to say then..." Clark waved his hand dismissively.
"I thought, as a god, you would be different, especially since you were quite polite to me before. It seems that was only because we hadn't really had a conflict!"
"Of course, I understand that although you are called the Allfather, you are emotionally not much different from normal humans. So, if you want war, let's have war!"
"Are you sure you want to go to war? Have you thought it through?" Odin's expression darkened upon hearing Clark's words.
"What? You can act on emotion, but I can't? One is my brother, the other my sister. Should I just hand them over to you? Besides, in this whole affair, I don't think Robert and Kara did anything wrong..." Clark shrugged, looking at Odin with a scoff.
"I don't know what's happening in Asgard, but when Mjolnir was placed with us, you agreed. Loki came to steal Mjolnir and lashed out in frustration when he was discovered. Are you saying Robert and Kara shouldn't have retaliated?"
"In your heart, Loki is your son and important to you, but in my heart, he's just another person. Since he chose to attack, he naturally has to bear the consequences of his actions. You can't say he's just a thousand-year-old child who doesn't understand, right?"
Hearing Clark's words, Odin fell silent for a moment. Even with anger in his heart, he had to admit
that what Clark said made sense. Indeed, Asgard had no right in this matter, especially since Earth was no longer under the rule of the many divine systems like in ancient times.
But, just because they were wrong, should they just give up? If everyone in the world were so rational, conflicts could be reduced by more than ninety percent...
Therefore, after a moment of silence, Odin looked at Clark and said, "If that's the case, there's nothing more to say. We'll have to see whose strength is greater..."
"Let's do it then, but don't blame me for not warning you. If you are gone, Asgard might not withstand Robert..." Clark nodded, deeply gazing at Odin as a parting reminder.
Afterward, the two became enemies, and Clark would not hold back. He knew that he might not be able to defeat Odin quickly, but Asgard trying to block Robert wouldn't be easy either!
"The depth of Asgard is far beyond your imagination..." Odin looked at Robert and Clark indifferently, his eternal spear pointing in Clark's direction. But just then, a circle of fire appeared between Clark and Odin.
"Odin, are you really going to start a war?" The figure of the Ancient One emerged from the portal, her expression carrying a hint of helplessness. Originally, she was just an onlooker, but when the situation escalated to this point, the Ancient One could not just stand by.
Previously, Odin had been considered one of Earth's guardians, at least that's how the original Asgard saw it. Not just Asgard, but other divine realms like Olympus initially left Earth still claiming it as their territory and promised to protect it accordingly.
It wasn't until the rise of Kamar-Taj that many divine systems stopped claiming to be Earth's guardians. When the Ancient One officially rose to power, Earth's dimensional guardianship was fully transferred to her.
Typically, the Ancient One only dealt with interdimensional affairs and rarely intervened in material plane matters, unless the issue was significant enough to damage the entire Earth's material plane, such as the previous battle between Robert and Mephisto's avatar, and now, the impending fight between Clark and Odin...
The Ancient One was slightly regretful at this moment. If she had known that Clark and Odin were going to fight, she would have thrown Loki into the endless void to prevent this troublesome situation when Loki first attempted to take up Mjolnir beside Robert.
"What, are you planning to stand with them against me, Asgard?" Seeing the Ancient One's appearance, Odin frowned. He was more wary of this supreme sorcerer than Clark.
Even though the Ancient One appeared harmless and was younger than Thor and Loki, her reputation was not unfounded but was earned through battles against numerous formidable dimensional beings and even some dimensional lords and demigods, none of whom could trouble her on Earth's dimension.
As for Clark, Odin sensed that this Kryptonian seemed extraordinary, stronger than any Kryptonian he knew of, but he did not believe Clark's strength could surpass both himself and the Ancient One...
"I'm not taking sides, but if you want to fight, you can't do it here. If you two start a war like this, Earth won't continue to exist; we might as well all go down together!" The Ancient One shook her head, speaking gravely to Odin and Clark, "Don't forget, you both have family and friends on this planet..."
"Of course, it would be better if you could avoid fighting, especially you, Odin. Didn't you say you wouldn't act anymore? Are you really still capable of fighting?"
"Fighting is no issue, it's just whether I want to or not!" Odin waved his hand, his eternal spear emitting a powerful rainbow light, creating a new spatial realm, and he turned to Clark, "I'll give the Ancient One face. Earth indeed isn't a suitable battlefield. What do you think about this place?"
"It doesn't matter where we fight if it's not on Earth..." Clark glanced in the direction of the sun, stepping onto the new spatial realm without any concern that it might be Odin's home advantage.
"The rest is up to you, be careful. If Asgard has any other strong fighters, you might increase the destruction to force the Ancient One to stop your fight..." Clark's voice echoed in Robert's mind before he left. Odin took a deep look at Robert and also stepped into the new spatial realm.
"That's settled then!" The Ancient One watched as Clark and Odin disappeared, finally letting out a sigh of relief, but muttered helplessly, "I don't know why they insist on fighting. They're old enough, yet so hot-tempered. Clearly, it's their own upbringing that's problematic. If they had been raised better over these past thousand years, we wouldn't be in this situation now..."
The Ancient One was speaking when suddenly, Robert stepped forward, causing a few veins to appear on her forehead as
she irritably turned to Robert, "Hey! Saiyan, you're not planning on joining the fight, are you? I've been good to you before, even creating a space for you to battle..."
"It's not that I want to fight, it's that they haven't shown any signs of stopping yet. It seems they want to defend the dignity of the gods a bit!" Robert shrugged, looking at the still-active Bifrost Bridge with a grin.
At the time, Robert also wanted to battle strong opponents, but now it was definitely time to shift the blame to Asgard. After all, today's entire incident was Asgard's fault, and this was one blame they couldn't shake off.
And Asgard knew this too, so they acted without caring about righteousness or formal justification. Odin's son, the acting king of Asgard, was in trouble, so why bother with such formalities?
"Queen Frigga, do you really need to intervene?" The Ancient One heard Robert's words and looked toward the other end of the Bifrost Bridge with a hint of helplessness, "I remember, you haven't really taken action for a long time, and besides, this issue is really because of Loki..."
"Loki is my child; I raised him for a thousand years, his magic is what I taught him. I admit his personality is problematic and extreme, but that doesn't mean I can ignore my child being beaten to an unknown fate and life or death!" Frigga's usually graceful and gentle voice carried a trace of anger. She couldn't accept her son Loki just disappearing like this.
"Oh? Then let me see, just how unreasonable the gods of Asgard can be!" Just as Robert was about to step forward, a valiant figure appeared in the sky, her hand wielding the sword of the god of fire, surging with divine power, the whole figure enveloped in godly light!
Wonder Woman Diana enters the fray!
