Midterms

As Midterm exams neared, Scott, Jim, and Dwayne all studied together in the room that recently cleaned up. From Friday night to Saturday morning, they all studied hard, had two cups of coffee and never had any time to sleep.

The same goes for Saturday when all they did was study. Dwayne was already exhausted from all the geology that he had been studying that he couldn't move an inch from the table that he was studying in. The same goes for Scott where he couldn't think properly with all the math that he has to catch up on ever since his absence in school.

Although Scott and Dwayne were struggling, Jim was being their teacher tutoring them nonstop as well as disciplining them.

"Scott get up. The exam is in a few days. Don't you want to at least graduate!" Jim hitting Scott with a textbook.

"Y-Yeah!" Scott woke up getting ready to go back to studying.

"And you Dwayne! Don't you want to at least go to college?!" Jim yelled at Dwayne.

"YEAH!" Dwayne also woke up.

They all started to study again until Saturday night where they again had another cup of coffee that was brewed from the store's coffee shop.

Meanwhile, in John's mansion, John, Laura, and Troy didn't spend a single second studying. Troy mostly spends time playing darts in his room, Laura painting her nails while being on her bed, and John spending most of his time looking at the fireplace as he had a cup of coffee.

While having a sip of coffee, John thought something to himself. "Who gives a shit whether there's midterms next week. I'm going to get an A no matter what my teachers do to me. I'm the King of High School and nobody is ever going to let me down.

In Troy's room, Troy kept shooting darts. However, he got to look at his textbook from Precalculus. "Maybe I should try to study."

Troy picked up his book. However, he thought of something else. "Wait a minute. Why should I study? Faith will always save me no matter what. Studying is just for a bunch of wussies."

Troy threw the book to the wall.

"Hey Teddy Bear! Can you please not bang the wall too hard! I'm painting my nails! Laura yells at Troy as her room is close to his.

"Sorry Laura."

Troy then went back to playing darts. "Like I said. Studying is for wussies."

On the final day before the midterm exams, Scott, Dwayne, and Jim already had the information needed for the midterm exams. All they had to do was to memorize all the lessons, practice them, and finally get a good night's sleep.

As they finished their studying session, Scott, Dwayne, and Jim finally went to bed.

Dwayne slept on the couch, and Scott and Jim slept on the floor with a blanket on the bottom.

As they were heading to sleep, Jim wanted to say something to Scott. "Hey Scott. Before we start taking our exams, I just want to say thanks a lot for letting me stay at your place and paying for my doctor's appointment. Without you, I would've been the same nerd that people would try to bully."

Scott looked at Jim. "No problem Jim. I'm just doing this because Ashley knows that I'm capable of more than just a misunderstanding. I want to show empathy for others as she told me that understanding others is the best way to make friends."

"Yeah I can tell Scott. I mean after just meeting Dwayne at the school library. You already made another friend. I'm really happy that Ashley inspired you to be a great person."

"Thanks Jim." Scott then turned off the lamp ready for the exam tomorrow.

It was now the day of the exams and Jim and Scott were already on a good roll. Scott and Jim were very focused on the precalculus exam as well as others in the classroom.

Troy however had no clue what to do on the exam as he kept scratching his head and fidgeting his pencil.

Although Scott approached a few problems that were challenging, Scott did his best to understand the problems and try to finish as the time was almost running out.

Later, the bell rang and the time was up for the exam. "Okay class, pass down your midterm exams."

The whole classroom passed down their exams. Except for Troy.

"Troy Watanabe. The test is over so please pass your exam."

Being nervous, Troy had passed his exam to Mr. Cheung knew that he didn't finish a single problem.

"Alright class. Your exam scores will be available on Wednesday. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your day." The class being dismissed ready to either do another midterm exam or just being finished.

Scott and Jim left the classroom.

"Hey Scott, how did you think you did on the exam?"

"Actually, I think I did great on the exam. Yeah there were a few problems I struggled, but overall I did great!"

"Awesome Scott. I knew you had potential. For my exam I-"

"UM YEAH I DID GREAT. AND I DIDN'T NEED YOU AT ALL NERD!" Troy interrupts Scott and Jim's conversation.

"Yeah sure Troy. I bet you didn't study at all. You think that 'faith' will save you."

Troy started to get a bit nervous. "Um Yeah! Faith is on my side you nerd! Just watch! My score is going to be higher than yours!"

Jim makes a smirk at Troy. "Sure thing. Let faith save you."

Scott and Jim walked away from Troy.

"Just watch you little shit. Although you had your shitty glow up. I bet you and Scott are going to fail that exam." Troy thinking in his thoughts.

It is now Wednesday and precalculus class is almost over. "Alright class I graded your midterm exams so here you are."

Mr. Cheung brought all the exams back for every student including Jim's exam.

As Jim looked at his exam, he was happy. "Good old A+."

Scott was happy for Jim. However, Scott didn't receive his exam back fearing that he might've failed his exam.

"And that's all for today's class." The classroom left the room.

"Mr. Smith can I see you outside of the classroom?" Mr. Cheung having his exam paper in his right hand.

Feeling nervous, Scott followed Mr. Cheung out of the classroom.

Outside the classroom, Mr. Cheung and Scott faced each other. "Mr. Smith, do you know why I called you out here?"

"Is it because we're both Asian?" Scott laughed a little bit.

"Very funny Scott but no. I just want to tell you that I'm very proud of you."

"Wait what?"

"You see after I saw you and Jimmy getting along together, I knew you would do well on this exam and as a result." Mr. Cheung handed Scott's exam back.

Scott looked at his paper. "No Way! B+!"

"Yep. You deserve it Scott."

"After all that studying you and Jimmy have to go through, I can tell that you guys are going to be great friends. And I know Ashley will be very proud of you."

Feeling happy, Scott hugged Mr. Cheung. "Mr. Cheung, thank you for being there for me when I needed it."

Mr. Cheung is also feeling happy. "Yeah. Anything for my students."

Scott stopped hugging Mr. Cheung. "I swear I'll end John and his friend's madness" Scott whispered to Mr. Cheung.

Mr. Cheung nodded yes.

When the bell rang, Scott went to his next class knowing that he achieved something great today.

"MR. CHEUNG!" Troy yelled from the classroom.

He then went outside of the classroom.

"Explain this to me. Why do I have an F on my exam!"

"Me. Watanabe, you didn't even answer a single question on the exam. How would I give you a good score if you didn't even say anything?"

"Well guess what you chink. If the football team finds out this score and my recent GPA, I won't hold my position in the football team! So you're going to give me this goddamn A right now!"

Mr. Cheung was not even startled at Troy. "You think yelling can make you give an A. Troy, act like an adult and accept that you need to focus on school rather than on sports. I'm just being honest with you."

Troy started to get angry as he was breathing heavily. Without any impulse control. Troy hit the locker door near him causing a small dent to the door.

"Fucking chink." Troy left Mr. Cheung's sight

As Troy was walking across the hallway while being angry Troy thought of something devious.

"Scott Smith and Jimmy Wilson. You guys are going to pay for what you're doing."

Hey everyone. Jim's Arc is finally done. We are now in the final arc of the year where this series will be split into three part. I'm planning for part one to be done by around the end of the year, so I can brainstorm how this story will progress. But anyways, here's a new chapter and have a good day.
