Yin-Yang Snakes

Walking south a mile away from the Capital City, Lin Tao was following a dirt road, cutting through a rocky hill area. Apparently, the attacks on the trade route happened further down. Lin Tao was finicking around with Ruyi Bang in his hand's twirling it in different patterns. As he did so he was controlling its growth and making it shrink.

'This thing really doesn't care about the laws of physics…' A strange thought coming from a former Cultivator right? But even a Cultivator would have to address how insane Ruyi Bang was in nature.

It could change both its length and circumference however he wanted with just a phrase or thought. When he had taken down that Profound Beast before, it had grown to the point it dwarfed any nearby hills. And even then he felt that wasn't anywhere close to its limit if it had one.

Circumference-wise, he had it extend to that of a large tree he couldn't really hold it properly past that point. Yet despite all of that, Lin Tao could control whether its weight changed. That's the part that shattered the laws of physics. Ruyi Bang was heavy to the degree it left indent's in anything Lin Tao let it rest on.

He had always wondered why Sun Wukong tucked it away behind his ear. And well now he knew seeing as he was copied that action now. In any case, its natural weight had to be around five to six thousand kilograms. Lin Tao was already shocked enough that he could even carry something that heavy.

Yet the thought that Ruyi Bang could potentially grow to the size of a mountain but still weigh that much? There was nothing else to say, it defied logic! Sighing at the thought Lin Tao tossed Ruyi Bang into the air but didn't catch it. Instead, his tail did wrapping itself around Ruyi Bang.

Glancing at it Lin Tao conveyed his thoughts out loud.

"And as for that... I honestly would rather not think about it." The mysteries of his body still alluded to him let alone Ruyi Bang. Although he was doing this for other reasons he would be lying if he didn't say his intrigue wasn't one of them urging him forth.

'Speaking of mysteries… Why do I feel like I'm being watched?' He was getting close to the spot where the attacks took place. The path cut through a rocky valley-like area with two large mountains on either side. Lin Tao came to a stop as he began to look around. That feeling wasn't going away.

And his senses were right. Staring at Lin Tao from above a figure dressed in dark clothes. They were standing higher up on the mountain and were hidden from view. On either side of them, were two Snake Profound Beast one being white while the other was black. Their tongues flickered as the dark-clad figure extended their hand pointing towards Lin Tao.

"Kill." The snake's eyes narrowed as they began to move under his orders. They were quite big being as tall as a full-grown adult and just wider than a carriage. However, their real size difference lay in how long they were. They were at least eighty feet in length and their shining scale's coated them entirely.

The White Snake slithered down the mountain at an incredible pace locked onto Lin Tao as the Black Snake one followed behind it.

"Huh?" Hearing the sound of falling rock, Lin Tao turned around only to see the White Snake bearing down on him. His eyes grew wide as he quickly held up his arm's forming a guard. The snake's head slammed into Lin Tao without mercy letting its momentum and weight handle the rest.

Immediately he was lifted off his feet and sent flying back. His entire body was like a cannonball as it hit the side of one of the mountains. Debris was sent flying everywhere as the two snake's let out hisses. The black figure watching from afar looked uninterested as he stood to leave.

'Hmm, good now that that's dealt-' His thoughts were shut down as the dust kicked up from Lin Tao being attacked suddenly got blown away.

"So you two are the Profound Beast's behind the attacks?" Rubbing his neck he looked at the two snakes. This was the first time had felt actual pain in this new body of his.

'Even peak True Profound Realm Cultivators couldn't come close to fighting me when I merged with Sun Wukong. Yet this one managed to make me feel pain. That means they're probably in the Spirit Profound Realm.' Profound Beast at that level was rare especially this close to the Capital City. It raised a bunch of questions.

'How is he still alive? He's just a normal person, isn't he? I didn't even sense any Profound Energy.' The figure dressed in black looked on trying to contain their surprise.

"Well whatever the case is, I've been tasked with getting rid of you two. I hope you don't mind." Holding Ruyi Bang in a readied position Lin Tao spoke to the Black and White Snakes. In response, they let out a high pitch hiss bearing their fangs.

Attacking first the Black Snake rushed past the white one. They were nimble and extremely fast despite their big bodies. Opening its mouth it revealed its fangs as it attempted to bite into Lin Tao's body. In quick response, Lin Tao took a quick step back holding up Ruyi Bang.

The Black Snake's slammed into Ruyi Bang's shaft pushing Lin Tao back a bit as he forcefully kept its mouth open. Its fangs dripped with a dark purple liquid, as soon as a drop touched the ground it sizzled melting it.

'Venom or maybe it's more like acid? Either way looks like it can't affect Ruyi Bang.' Lin Tao glanced over at the White Snake as it attacked as well. Going around the Black Snake's body it planned on attacking Lin Tao from the side. Seeing that Lin Tao's focus changed back to the Black Snake.

His entire body tensed up and bulged slightly as his face became strained. Twisting his two-handed grip on Ruyi Bang the head of the Black Snake followed by the rest of its body began to twist as well. His feet cracked and imprinted themselves into the ground finally his strength overcame the snakes.

Its massive body and head were flipped upside down. As it did Lin Tao switch Ruyi Bang to one hand and clenched his free fist. With one quick dash, he punched the flipped Black Snake sending it flying back hitting the ground with a crash. With it out of the way he quickly jumped in the air, avoiding the White Snake's tail as it swept across the ground.

Seeing an opening Lin Tao grabbed Ruyi Bang with both hands once more and called out its name. It flashed as it instantly began to extend, five meters, ten meters, fifteen. Once it reached a certain length, Lin Tao smiled as he swung it down onto the White Snake.

They may be fast but they're still too big to perfectly dodge attacks like this. Ruyi Bang slammed into the body of the White Snake its scale's cracking under the pressure letting blood pour forth. It writhed in pain letting out a mix between a hiss and a scream.

'Thi- This is impossible! He's actually overpowering the Yin-Yang Snakes? This is bad… No, no just calm down. They still haven't used their trump card. It'll be fine." The dark figure calmed themselves as they continued to watch from afar.

As if reacting to the White Snake's cry the Black Snake recovered itself and opened its mouth. The next instant it began to spray out a darker than black gas or mist. Lin Tao frowned as he retracted Ruyi Bang and landed on the ground. Despite its wound, the White Snake began to do the same opening its mouth and spraying a crystal white haze.

The two colors began to mix with one another as the entire valley turned into a mix of black and white. Lin Tao watched as the snakes faded from sight and their hissing grow faint before disappearing entirely. His guard went up immediately as his eyes tried to see through this haze, but to no avail.

It was only after a few seconds that Lin Tao was hit. It was heavy and fast striking him directly at his back. He was sent flying forward only to be hit a second from his side this time. His face winced as he felt the pain from both impacts at nearly the same time. Blown away he crashed into the ground tearing a path in the rock.

Hearing the sound of that the dark-clothed figure smiled.

'Looks like I was worried for nothing. No matter how strong he is, he's dead now. This attack can only be performed by these Profound Beast each one being rare in their own right. Not only that it requires for them to be mates. Alone their venom and speed alone let them take down Profound Beast's entire small realms above their own. But this haze seals whatever caught inside's fate. The Yin and Yang Snakes become invisible and imperceptible by normal means. Of course, it also hides any sounds of traces of them as well.'

Any large Profound Beast caught in this attack would be torn to shreds and injected with Venom countless times over without being able to fight back. And anything smaller would be hit from all sides by coordinated attacks they couldn't predict or track. It was safe to safe under mid-levels of the Spirit Profound Realm this made them invincible.

And Lin Tao was bearing witness to this from the inside. He had been doing fine before, but now he was being overwhelmed.

'There attacks don't hit hard enough to kill me, but if this keeps up I'll be in danger.' With that being the case he hardly had any options available to him. Lin Tao's body tensed up as he was struck once again sending his flying back. This time around he managed to land on his feet but any chance to counter-attack had disappeared.

'Hmm… If their target is me then that means they're sticking close even after an attack. Which means I need to be able to hit both of them within at least a hundred-meter range. If I can see them even for a few seconds, I'll be able to finish this.' But how would he do it? He didn't have any Profound Skills or even arts for that matter.

His advantages were stronger than the snake's and faster but still, he was outmatched on his own. Actually, now that he thought about it that wasn't exactly true. He had one other major advantage, he realized that he looked at Ruyi Bang in his hands. An idea struck him the next second that made him smile.

"Well might as well give it a shot." Before the snakes could attack again Lin Tao began to run forward. He couldn't see thanks to this haze however he still knew he was in the valley and there were two mountains on both sides. He quickly began to approach the large wall on one side of the valley as he jumped in the air.

As soon as the wall came into view he stepped off of it like a springboard launching himself high into the air. He wasn't trying to escape the haze, but instead, he needed more space to pull this off while avoiding the snakes. The moment he was high enough in the air he commanded Ruyi Bang to expand while holding it above his head.

Outside of the haze, the darkly dressed figure was waiting patiently. It was only a matter of time before the snake's finished Lin Tao off. Or at least that's what he thought.

'What is that?' They began to see the black and white haze begin to twist and turn as a breeze swept through the valley. The haze began to rise into the air as it was being sucked up into a single point. It was hard to recognize at first however soon the realization dawned on him what was happening.

"A- A tornado!" Inside of the haze, Lin Tao was spinning the extended Ruyi Bang above his head like a rotor. The spinning only got faster and faster as it began to affect the environment. The wind began to kick up as if a storm had suddenly appeared within the valley. The haze which had been calm began to move with the wind as well.

However Lin Tao didn't stop there, he continued to spin Ruyi Bang even faster as its movements became an utter blur. The winds grew even more fierce eventually creating a well-known force of nature, an artificial tornado. Loose rocks and boulders were torn from the walls and mountains of the valley as the haze was thinned out and sent into the air.

Looking down Lin Tao slowly began to see the two snakes have their veil torn away becoming visible once again. Not only that but they were actually struggling. The force of the tornado Lin Tao was generating only got stronger as it began to reach towards the sky.

Soon not even their weight could offset the suction as their bodies were lifted off the ground and tossed into the air.

"And now for the finale." Lin Tao smirked as he looked up seeing the two snakes flying through the air like puppets without their strings. Ruyi Bang shrunk back to its normal size as Lin Tao stopped spinning it. Falling to the ground he landed on his feet before looking up.

The tornado was beginning to disperse as such the Yin-Yang snakes began to fall out of the sky tangled with one another. They couldn't control themselves while they fell allowing Lin Tao to simply embed Ruyi Bang into the ground while making it extend. Taking a step back Lin Tao watched as they impacted the ground.

Their head's landed directly onto Ruyi Bang piercing through their skulls and brains. The wind pressure from them hitting the grown blew Lin Tao's hair as he watched their bodies squirm. Slowly their eye's widened before growing dim as their large bodies went limp.

"Snake shishkabob, a weird way to end a fight but I'll take it." Lin Tao said that with a casual look on his face. Hardly anyone who was in his position just now could be so relaxed especially considering the situation he was in. Seeing the Yin-Yang snake's die the figure dressed in black went wide-eyed.

"Im- Impossible… They're dead? He actually beat both of them?" Their composure was completely gone as they quickly stood up.

'Master need's to know of this quickly!' Without hesitation, they ran leaving the scene without a trace. Taking back Ruyi Bang and wiping off the blood Lin Tao glanced in the direction where they ran.

'Looks like whoever was watching me ran away. Shame, I wanted to see who it was.' Well either way he did what he came here to do.

It was time to go collect his reward.
