Expectations for Oneself

The appearance of the Celestial Beast Fenrir immediately froze everyone in the guild. They stared in disbelief at Calvin and the first guild master, Mavis.

The situation was too intense. Just a moment ago, everything had been fine, and suddenly, this terrifying monster appeared out of thin air, scaring everyone.

Some who didn't know the identity of the first master whispered among themselves, but word quickly spread, and soon everyone knew who she was.

Expressions of amazement and excitement spread among the crowd, eager to witness Calvin in a problematic situation. It was rare to see him in trouble.

The scene was explicit: Calvin had angered the first master and was instantly subdued by her. Fenrir's fierce look and sharp claws were evident to all.

Everyone marvelled at the power of Fairy Tail's founder. Not only did she look like a fairy, but her strength was also extraordinary.

Calvin panicked for a few breaths before calming down, still with a flattering smile, trying to laugh it off.

"First Master, I was too thoughtless. Please forgive me," he said in a fawning tone. Seeing Calvin's response, Mavis's small face fell again. She looked like she might cry at any moment but desperately held back, capturing the hearts of all the onlookers.

Calvin and Makarov panicked. Despite their respect for Mavis, her childlike appearance made it hard for them not to see her as an adorable little sister.

Ignoring the wolf above, they hurried to her side, showing concern.

The other guild members, lacking empathy, were even more intrigued. Calvin making a little girl cry was big news! What would Mira think if she heard about this? It would ruin his image!

"First Master, I was a fool before. If I offended you, please don't take it to heart and don't cry," Calvin pleaded.

"Yes, Calvin is an idiot. I'll punish him later to make it up to you. Don't worry about him," Makarov said, desperately trying to cheer Mavis up.

But Mavis just sighed sadly, "I feel so let down. My magic was so easily seen through."

Calvin and Makarov exchanged looks, unsure of what to say. After a moment, Calvin spoke softly, "I didn't see through it. Isn't it still glaring at me?"

He pointed nervously at the Celestial Beast Fenrir above him.

Mavis's eyes grew weary, and she sighed again, "Stop trying to comfort me. Calvin, you're not an idiot, and you're very sensitive to magic."

"This is just an illusion. You realized it immediately. That calm demeanor can't be faked."

"And you went along with it gently. But you don't realize that this kind of gentleness can be hurtful."

Calvin had nothing to say. He prided himself on his acting skills, yet Mavis saw through him quickly.

As Mavis said, although initially shocked, his keen senses quickly told him it was illusion magic, not summoning magic. Out of respect for Mavis and her appearance, Calvin decided to play along, thinking it would help her save face.

Treating her like a little girl, he thought some patience would be kind.

However, this good-hearted act hurt Mavis more than being mistaken for a child.

Knowing she was the first master, he still treated her like a child.

Mavis glanced at Calvin sorrowfully and floated away like a ghost. She was a ghost now.

Calvin and Makarov exchanged glances and sighed before following her outside.

...

The Fairy Tail guild's location was remote, almost like the suburbs.

After floating out of the guild, Mavis went to a nearby forest, where she gazed at the scenery from a tree branch.

Calvin and Makarov stood below, accompanying her as they viewed the landscape.

A gentle breeze rustled the treetops, creating a peaceful and leisurely atmosphere. Calvin suddenly felt that quietly being here was an excellent, relaxing activity.

He could invite Mira to enjoy this tranquillity together.

As Calvin's thoughts wandered, Mavis's voice suddenly spoke up.

"Calvin, can you tell me why you want to learn the three great Fairy magics?"

"I saw your fight on Tenrou Island. To be honest, the Summoning Cards magic is enough for you to study for a lifetime. While the three great Fairy magics are powerful, they don't have such a strong attraction for you.

Calvin understood that Mavis reminded him to focus on refining his magic instead of pursuing the highly challenging three great Fairy magics.

Makarov smiled and nodded before leaving. The first master would guide Calvin, and staying longer would be unnecessary.

Hearing the question, Calvin didn't answer immediately but thought quietly for a while before calmly stating his reason.

Inside, he hesitated to speak his mind, but after careful consideration, he decided to be honest.

"First Master, I want to learn the three great Fairy magics because I desire their power!"

"But I'm not content with merely knowing how to use them."

"I want to understand their principles, absorb them, and make them my own."

"Eliminating targets identified by the caster, the ultimate judgment magic; the merciless light harnessing the brilliance of the sun, moon, and stars; and the strongest defensive magic capable of withstanding Acnologia's full-force attack. These three magics are incredibly close to 'truth' or 'rules'."

"If I can comprehend them, I can develop immensely powerful cards based on their principles. At that point, they will be cards that can rival 'gods'."

Hearing Calvin's ambitions, or rather his aspirations, Mavis couldn't help but burst into laughter.

She laughed heartily, very happily.

"I thought you were the most normal person in the guild, but it turns out you're the craziest," Mavis said, wiping tears from her eyes after laughing too hard.

"First Master, do you think this ambition is too unrealistic?" Calvin asked, still calm.

"Of course! But I like your answer!" Mavis laughed, "Whether it's ambition or a dream, no matter how crazy it is, since you've already started pursuing it, it won't remain just a dream. As the first master of Fairy Tail, I support you."

"Young man, I believe in you. Don't disappoint me!"

Mavis landed, jumping to pat Calvin's shoulder with a bright smile.

Everyone seems very interested in whether this story will include a harem. Since you're all curious, let me reveal a bit here.

About the harem... well...
