17. Hungry.

My stomach groaned for a hundredth time and I sighed. Now I regret not having dinner. I looked at Mykel direction and he was sleeping soundly. If not that am so hungry right now I would have been drooling at his sight. He looks like a baby but that not what I should be thinking about. I tip toed silently out to the bed and walked out of the room not to wake him up, because this could be the worst embarrassment ever. Luckily, he didn't wake up and I smiled happily and got down the stairs without making a noise, thanks to my fluffy slippers.

The night was quiet and the lights were off and I could hear the waves at the sea. That always happen since our house is quite close to the beach. Am not scared of the dark but right now am so damn scared. First, am tip toeing inside the kitchen like a thief and second, am scared someone may see me. So here I am scared like a kitten but am still going with the plan. Once I reached the kitchen I sighed in relief, 'there you are' I hurriedly to the fridge to find something to eat and damn there it was, leftovers of fried beef and I knew it was spicy with the looks and the pasta which was in a bowl. I licked my lips as I took them and placed them at the counter as I closed the fridge with my legs ' come to mummy' I was about to eat when I heard a familiar voice and I shrieked back in fright and he chuckled. "You scared me you jerk" I breathed and I held my heart with my hand.

"Were you going to eat that?" he asked as he came to view and I rolled my eyes. Who else was going to eat it if not I?

"What do you think? I was going to throw it away and give it to your dog?" I snapped back as I took a fork to eat but he took it before I could say jack. "Oh come on, am dying here" I groaned but that didn't bring me the food back.

"This is unhealthy, you should warm it first" he said and I looked at him like he grew wings. How do you tell someone who is hungry that food is unhealthy? And how can I tell him I don't even know how to? I watched him as he put the fried beef at the heater and he turned to me folding his hand on his chest. "Have you ever been in the kitchen?" I scoffed.

"That's none of your business" I replied and sat at the tall stool while my stomach choose the perfect time to embarrass me and groaned loudly.

"Do you want some soup" he asked breaking the long awkward silence and I looked at his blank face but he was serious. I nodded.

one of the many things I liked was food. and I mean spicy food. my grandma cooked the best spicy food in the neighborhood. they even had a stall near the beach and the food sold quite well. since then I had love the spicy food.

my brother would cook once in a while but they didn't taste like grandma. I still crave her spicy food untill this day. no one could cook like her.

"Denise" I jolted back from her memories, memories that one day may be forgotten. "food" he later the food Infront of me I couldn't help but salivate on it. he chuckled and I ignored him. first thing first and that's to fill my stomach.

the sweetness I the food covered my tougue and I coukdn help but moan at the food. how can someone could such a delicious food. this is like heaven. I there a party in heaven because sure enough this is so delicious.

the last time I had this delicious food was when grandma made it. how? the food taste like it. it's the taste have been missing in years. it's not like my brother can't cook. his food are delicious but this.

I felt a hand on my cheeks and I blinked. was I crying? the sea blue eyes stared at me in concern and tears fell down again. he gently wiped my tears away. his hands were warm and it left a tingling sensation that jolted me back. what was I doing?

I pulled away and wiped away the remaning tears before finishing the food. How was he able to cook the food I had been craving? how did he know my grandma recipe? no one knows even my brother? but he knows? who the hell is he?
