A past memory

Su Yeon didn't know what was happening, she was nonplussed when Dhruv came and started rubbing Kaya's back. "Its fine!! Its fine."

She slowly looked up at Dhruv as tears had brimmed her eyes. Just on the look of his face, her tears started falling endlessly from her eyes and Dhruv pulled her in a hug.

"I'm sorry!! I forced you to come here.....Sorry!" He said in a low voice almost muttering to himself while hugging Kaya's tucked body position on the ground from the side.

Su Yeon was confused as even Kaya won but she is still crying. "What happens?" She asked.

Instead of answering her, Dhruv gestured her to hand over the bottle of water.

He gave Kaya a medicine and water bottle. She quickly gulped down the medicine with her trembling hands.

Later, they were in living room. While Kaya had fallen asleep in her wet kneeskin on the banquet. The sun had started to set.

"I should bring her clothes to change." Su Yeon said as she left the room while Dhruv just nodded. Su Yeon knocked the door of Kaya's room and on just one knock the door was quickly opened. "I was waiting for you." Eun Woo said who opened the door.

She let out a chuckle. "The one for whom you are waiting is in living room celebrating her victory." Su Yeon said while smiling.

Eun Woo rubbed the back of his head. "Ah!! Is it like this? I should also go there then."

"No!!" Su Yeon said loudly while moving her hands left and right in denial.

Eun Woo raised her left brow like saying 'What?'

"No!! I mean. No!" She said with a smile softly. "It doesn't feel right to celebrate the win infront of loser."...."Ya... It's not right. That's why..Ya!! That's why she didn't come herself up here and sent me to bring her clothes."

"Really??" Eun Woo asked as he didn't believe what she said as he got know a little bit about her since then that she was not the kind of ones who feel bad for the people who lose.

Su Yeon moved her neck up and down quickly while not leaving the pleasing smile for a second.

"Ok!! Ok!! I will not go down there. Take her clothes." and he turned to go to sit on his bed while leaving the door open for Su Yeon to come in.

Then she took her clothes and closed the door while went to the living room.

When she went their Kaya was standing near the window looking at the sea with an undefined expression like asking the sea something which it was taking away with waves.

And Dhruv was sitting on the floor looking at her in despair.

Su Yeon entered the living room and sat near Dhruv. "When did she woke?"

"Just now!!"

"What happened to her earlier?" Su Yeon asked.

"Its been a few years now. Whenever i swim or dive into pools this kind of traumatic things happen to me, might be worse." Kaya told Su Yeon as she listened what Su Yeon asked Dhruv.

"Sorry!!" Su Yeon said despairingly.

"You don't have to. Its just me who is sorry... Fo.. For all the trouble.Huff!!" Kaya said while taking her clothes from Su Yeon.

"Why does it happen? Have you seen the doctor? What do they say?" Su Yeon asked.

"I'm under medications." With these words she went to the bathroom to change her clothes.

"Is she scared of water? But how then she loves rain!!" Su Yeon asked Dhruv. "Its not water, this all is because of pools and swimming. It's been happening since I've met her."

He remembered an incident of past.

*Intra-college swimming competition*

That was written on the big banners hanging on the high ceilings, with long swimming pools and plenty of students in sight. Some were there to watch the sports, some were to participate and some were to support the participants.

On a corner, Dhruv and Kaya were standing, Kaya looking panicked while Dhruv seemed laughing. "What has you gotten yourself into? You were the champion of this sport, you told me. Then why are you getting panicked just by the sight of the pool?" Dhruv was almost teasing her at her panicked behaviour. "You should have practiced before."

"I told you that i came for practice but these pools are making me scared. I see...I...I..."

"You've been telling me this since the day you have come to practice that you are seeing something in the pool and you are remembering something. Then you never tell what you're seeing or remembering. You just take painkillers and went off to sleep. How can i help you if you don't tell me."

Kaya didn't utter a word but she just looked at the water of pool while shivering weakly and sweating all over. Soon, the announcement was made that the competition will begin in five minutes. Dhruv turned to Kaya and held her shoulders looking straight in her lost eyes. "Pull it off girl. Its the reason of all of your prizes."

Kaya didn't said much as she went to stand by the pool to take her position, which she couldn't take as her body was quivering and turning pale. Tears were rolling down her cheeks and due to clenching her fists, the blood was about to ooze out of the bare palm skin. Everyone around her was getting furious looking at her.

"Kaya!!" Dhruv called out her name and went near her. He was also shocked like others while looking at her terrible state. The announcement was made to dive and Kaya dived the last. But as soon as she dived, she fainted and her body sank down.

Seeing her sinking down, Dhruv jumped straight into the pool. He took her out of the water to the doctor and the coach followed them.

After explaining her condition to doctor, later he came out from the hospital room where Kaya was. "Who is the family member?" The doc asked.

Dhruv came forward and said, "I'm her friend. Her family doesn't live here."

"Is she suffering from any trauma from any accident that happened before in the past? Is she under any medications."

"I don't think so." Dhruv answered. He again opened her mouth to speak further when Dean of their college barged in and said to the person in the white coat "Doctor, are you examining Ms. Rai?...I mean Kaya."

The doctor simply nodded in response. "Her doctor wants to talk to you. He is on the line."

Doctor took the phone from Dean and after having a brief talk, he went inside again. He gave Kaya some medicines and some injections. She was sound asleep due to the medications that were given to her.

Later that night, she woke up and saw a nurse checking her vital signs. She felt her heady heavy and aching as she tried to get up"Aw!!"

When nurse saw her awake, she ran out of the room and call the doctor. Soon the doctor was in the room and Kaya was trying to understand everything that was going on.

"How are you feeling Ms. Rai?" Seeing the perplexed Kaya, the doctor continued with a smile, "You are fine now. Just a little weak. Don't stress yourself. You should meet your friend."

Kaya didn't paid attention what doctor said as she was lost in her memories of her sinking in the pool which has turned red due to the blood. She let out a cry and closed her eyes while holding the sheets strongly.
