4. Slip

My body felt exhausted as I kept my eyes on my hand that hung in the air. My mouth felt dry.

The sky cried out loudly as thunder drummed against the grey sky.

What should I do? the question repeated itself in my mind as the street light flickered above me.

Soft hiccups and crying caught my attention. My sister stood behind be. Turning around she looked confused as she bent her body to the left then right -looking for the men.

"what? where di-" She stuttered, eyebrows frowning. Her hands moved towards me grabbing my shoulder. My face twisted as I expected to hear that haunting sound again.

Only the calm wind, whistled in my ear as I looked at her shocked."The-they ran away" I looked back, clearing my throat. Eyes wondering around the dark street.

Putting my hand in hers, I pulled her along with me. "We should hurry back". I smiled tightly. A shiver ran down my spine as wolf howls pierced the rain. Feet picking up their pace, I pulled my sister in front of me. Hand on her shoulders I pushed her into a jog. My face morphing into terror as Shadows moved long the dark.
