The Baker Park

( THE BAKER PARK )

The sun cast its light on the dark-haired man as he walked into the bustling park. He looked around but all he saw were cheerful faces --- adults and kids alike running around the place.

He slipped his hand into his pocket and took out a device which he was given to track the whereabouts of the target.

[Do you see him?]

"I'm on it," he replied before following the signal. He walked further into the park until he arrived at an area with fewer people and very little technology.

A few people were seated around a very large wooden table. On the said table was a large glass container which was filled with cotton candy, a lot of cotton candy.

The dark-haired man walked forward as he scanned the faces on the table and finally saw that of the person he was searching for. He was the only one who had a hoodie over his head and the signal pointed at him.

The dark-haired man returned the phone into his pocket and approached the table. He sat down, leaving an empty seat between himself and Jacob.

Jacob sat quietly with a hood over his head as he stared at the mobile device he was holding. The dark-haired also remained quiet for a couple of seconds before clearing his throat, causing Jacob to look at him.

Jacob stared at him for a moment before looking back at the device he was holding. "How did you find me?" He queried, causing the dark-haired man to furrow in shock.

"You know who I am?"

Jacob chuckled and dropped the device he was holding face down on the table before leaning back. "Rohan Coco. You were the first Storm agent of the newest squad created by Havishma Bubentres on Winter Weir. You have the Z-syrup flowing through your blood which gave you various abilities among which is the ability to manipulate electricity."

The former Storm agent's eyes widened in surprise at the amount of information the bald man knew about him.

"Ealien have four clones of me, one of which was sent on a mission to your planet. Every data a clone got is shared among the four. The code they used for the clones is a basis of mine, so those data also came to me. A mistake on their part. But what I do not know is what you're doing here, on Earth."

The dark-haired man looked under the hood Jacob had on and noticed that his left part had no skin on it, but it looked as if it was reforming. "What intentions do you have for coming here?"

"I know what you're thinking. Your mind has already been polluted by Yvonne and her companions. Let me guess, they said I went crazy and murdered my family before taking my life. And now I think they are responsible for my pregnant wife and kid's death."

"Wasn't that what happened?" He queried.

Jacob shook his head. "Not a single part of it is true."

"Then what really happened?"

"Is this Yvonne's plan? She wants you to keep me talking and distracted so the Ealien agents can take me in."

"No. I want to know what happened," the dark-haired man stated.

Jacob slipped the device into his pocket. "1786 --- we had just returned from a fierce battle against Retropol for the possession of a moon that formed between our planets," he started.

"We won, and we brought back a Retropolis scientist as a prisoner. He was highly regarded on the planet and we thought if we used him well, we'd get them to do many other things, like surrender all the other Moons they had."

"And? What happened?"

Jacob pulls his hood back to get a clearer picture of the Weir. "Turned out the scientist had a virus with him. He released it in the private base and within hours everyone present there got infected with it," he revealed. "It was airborne, but after researching it, we found out that the virus was non-communicable and incurable."

Jacob went quiet and took out the device again from his pocket, caressing it with his thumb. "Everyone decided what they want to do. Ada gave up her body for the scientist to research, and some of the others decided to continue working till their last moment, I just wanted to spend the last moments I had left with my pregnant wife and daughter."

"I wanted to be there when my newborn child came into this world. It was all I wanted. But they didn't let me see that. Just when I was about to move with my family, Yvonne and her crew attacked us. They declared that I was needed back at base and that I either come by will or by force. I just wanted to be at home, I could barely walk on my own."

"They didn't…"

"Oh, they did. They took my family away and forced me back. To date, I do not know what happened to them. After I got conscious back, with a new body, and new mind, everything just came back, every moment of my past life. I searched for my wife and kid but didn't find them anywhere, so I ran away, and I promised to make that psycho suffer."

The dark-haired man pinched the bridge of his nose and tapped his index finger on the table while thinking back to what Eder told him. 'But Jacob was different in the aspect. He broke his code and went crazy, disappearing from our radar after destroying Nator. His code seems to have been corrupted and he believes we killed his family.'

He raised his head to look at Jacob. "Why are you here then?"

Jacob turned the device he was holding to the dark-haired man, it was a picture of a young girl sitting on a man's shoulder. "My daughter loved this place. Every year, this same day, I bring her here to this table for some cotton candy, she loves it."

"So you have no intention of harming any of these people?"

"No," he stated. "I just want Yvonne and everyone she works with to pay for what they did to my wife and kid."

The dark-haired man bites the inner part of his lips and clenched his fist. "Then why did you attack Jesselyn?"

"Who's Jesselyn?"

( A few meters away from the Baker Park )

Venus slipped a gun into her belt before walking up to where one of her Ghost mates was sitting. "Hey, you okay?"

She raised her head and smiled, a smile which disappeared as quickly as it appeared. "Yeah, I'm good. My mind is just running, right now, it's like a browser -- thirty pages are open, five are frozen, and I do not know where the music is playing from."

Venus laughed softly. "Jonathan's the one playing the music back there," she stated.

"That's… sure." She got up on his feet and sighed before putting on a stoic expression. "I'm not scared or anything, but if Jacob has the Powerball, you know what that means?"

"You're a full robot, Xintra, and a member of the Ghost squad, if anything happens to you, your chunks will just be put together again."

The lady glared at Venus before speaking. "I'm not worried about myself. I'm worried about you."

"Well, you do not need to worry."

The lady nodded. "What's the status?"

As if on cue, an engineer rushed up to the duo. "Commander, he locked us out."

"What?"

"That Sprite guy we sent out there locked us out. We can't connect to his communication device."

"Track the comms and find out where he is," she started. "Get every civilian out of that park and I want the sniper squad up high, every other squad should surround the Baker Park. We will handle the inside."

"Copy."

The former storm agent felt a rage rising within him but he managed to hold himself back. "Your attack on the mansion."

"Yvonne's mansion?"

"You hurt my friend! If you did not want to kill innocent people then why'd you go after her?"

Jacob opened his mouth to talk but nothing came out for the first few seconds. "I --- I tracked Yvonne's mobile device to that mansion several times. Ada was also there, and they didn't disclose it to anyone else so I assumed it was someone really important to the planet."

"You assumed…" he buried his face in his palms and drew a long breath before raising his head to look at the cyborg. "You killed a person on assumption?"

"I am… I am really --- really sorry…" Before Jacob could complete his sentence, an Ealien car bolted into the area they were in and then the Ghost squad marched out of it.

The other civilians there quickly began to make their way out of the park. Jacob got up on his feet and took off the hood he had on. "You tricked me!" He said, his right hand morphing into a sword.

"No."

"I shouldn't have trusted you…" before he could finish, a laser went straight through his head and the bald man fell face down on the ground.

"Shit."
