“Doing this for you was the easiest thing I’ve ever done, to be honest.” His voice was hushed, even, all traces of playfulness cast aside. “You’re too good at what you do to take that away from you. But leaving…that’s probably the hardest. Always knew there was something special with you, but I have to say I didn’t expect to love you as much as I do.” He laughed, a dry, hollow sound that rattled through Paul’s bones. “Probably should’ve realized I was doomed the very first time we danced together.
