The Day Peace Ends

Carth had piloted the Ebon Hawk as he, and Canderous rushed out of the hangar. They flew up in the air, making their way towards space, but only to be horrified when they saw a star destroyer that had belonged to the remnants of the Sith Empire. It had launched their fighters towards the Republic station, causing an attack to break out. The Republic was prepared, and started to protect themselves by launching their defenses. They had their own fighters flying out to meet the enemy. This left the Ebon Hawk flying towards the enemy, as Carth started to fire at the destroyer. The missiles were hitting the body of the enemy vessel, in return had its cannons fire at them. Carth had moved his ship out of the way before he and Canderous got hit. While they were dodging, the two looked behind them to see the battle on the other side, as The fight was still occurring at the Republic station. They were starting to overwhelm the enemy fighters. Carth continued, as he flew his ship around, dropping more missiles at the cannons, destroying them, then making their way towards the head, but they were chased by a fighter. Carth moved his vessel out of the way, as he was being chased. More fighters were coming at them, which caused him to maneuver the ship away. The Sith fighters were chasing after the hawk. While Canderous ran to the guns of the ship, using it to fight back against the fighters that were chasing them. One was flying front of them, causing Carth to move out of the way, making them crash into each other. He then piloted the ship back in a circle to make his way towards the head of the destroyer. Once they got to the head, Carth fired the rockets at the bridge, causing the destroyer to shake. Many other Republic ships came in to join Ebon Hawk, as they started to attack the destroyer. Some hit the body, others continued to fire on the top of the destroyer. The enemy vessel that had started attacking them had stopped fighting back. It just stood in the same spot, as the Republic firing at them. Everyone stopped firing, after a while, and waited for their enemy to fight back, but once again it didn't move a single cannon, or ship. The Republic was ready to start firing upon their enemy again, but instead the vessel moved the opposite direction. Enemy fighters that were left joined the destroyer, as they all took off into hyperspace. Everyone else was confused, asking each what was going on through their communication. Eventually they turned back like nothing happened. While this was happening a ship flew past their defenses.

Hanjin Sat back as he was piloting the ship away towards the battlefield. With the planet not allowing outsiders on the surface, he had used this opportunity to sneak past the Republic station without getting caught. Watching the battle from a distance, Hanjin saw the remnants of the Sith were leaving the solar system. He quickly moved his vessel out of the way, so he wouldn't be seen, making his way towards the surface. He had landed the Skyrim down on the ground where no one would find him, before contactacting Darth Scarus through a hologram, "Scarus, I have successfully landed"

Scarus responded, "Then the diversion worked, good"

"Where should I find this Rakatan?" Hanjin asked, not sure where to begin.

"He should be at the citadel. That is where I suspect he will be, as most of the world's people have gone during the war, and before the Republic's take over to the planet. Don't fail me" the Sith had warned the bounty hunter, but this didn't intimidate Hanjin. He just glared at the image of Darth Scarus, "Don't worry it will be done. Soon as I find him, I will bring him to you alive" he told him before shutting off the hologram. He moved the ship again before flying to the citadel, where he had hovered above, trying not to get caught. He debated what to do, he could just fire upon the station, but that would risk the target's life, and gain the attention of the Republic. His only option was to go in. He had moved the ship away, finding a place in the mountains to park it. He took his speeder outside, where he got on it, driving it towards the facility. When he got there dressed as a Republic officer. He handed the speeder over to the people that were working in the hangar. Before Hanjin could get by he was stopped by the officer, demanding identification. Hanjin just froze, not reacting, or moving in any way, instead glared through his only eye. The officer asked him again, but this time he was starting to get impatient. Before anyone could catch on, he showed his identification, being prepared for this. It was a picture of him as a Republic soldier, "Sorry about that, I am here on official business. I don't need to answer what, but I plan on staying here a while" the officer looked like he wanted to argue as he stood in Hanjins way. Before a fight could break out, Lieutenant Grenn had walked in with a curious look on his face, "What is going on here?" he demanded. Hanjin turned towards the Lieutenant, "I was just passing by until this officer stopped me. He refuses to let me go" Grenn had looked at the officer who had given him the identification. He looked at it, then at the Weequay, "Han Jinn, that's your name? We saw a fight was breaking out above the planet. Is everything alright?"

Hanjin shook his head, "Just a minior pirate group trying to get through the planet. I was sent to help protect this station, and its people. I had plan to stay until I was told to go back up" Grenn had communications contact the station above, making Hanjin nervous. He stood still, ready to fight, but to his surprise he was allowed to go.

"Looks like we can't get in touch with your station" Grenn told him.

Hanjin spoke, "The communication center above was hit hard, which is why I was sent down here"

"Well you are free to go. We will have a room prepared immediately" Lieutenant Grenn told him, causing Weequay to smile. He walked as he was being escorted into his room. It was on the higher levels where the wealthiest were allowed to stay. The Weequay put his bag down, as he collected himself. Helooked at the holoprojector of his target, and had to think of a plan to find him and escape. Instead of gloating about it, Hanjin got up and left his room to explore the citadel.

Canderous had spent the whole day with Carth, and the Republic military to help rebuild the damage that had endured the station. Lucky for them the damage was minimal, but they were out of communication with the surface for several hours. Everyone else in battle was repairing their starfighters to prepare for another attack. Others that got wounded when the station was hit received medical treatment Carth was in the control room when he contacted the Chancellor Cressa through a astromech droid, "Chancellor, the station has been attacked by the Sith Empire"

The human male was surprised, rubbing his old eyes in frustration, "I thought the remnants already died"

"That's what we all thought, but lucky for us we were able to stop them, however we suffered very little casualties" Carth told the Chancellor, as he continued to talk, "You would find it a surprise, but there was only one star destroyer. The fighters they launched were quickly outnumbered by our own"

"Interesting, this sounded like a diversion. This was a warning attack" the Chancellor said.

"I agree. We also have captured prisoners, who are currently being held for interrogation. What should we do in the meantime, while communication continues to be restored." Carth told his superior.

Cressa thought, then spoke, "Nothing, we can't leave the station now. I will inform the Jedi what has happened. There will be an investigation"

"Understood, Carth out" the holoprojector then shut off. Carth stood up, exiting the Ebon Hawk. He met Canderous, who was waiting in the halls for him, "How did that go?" the Mandalroian asked him, already knowing the answer through Carth's face.

"Nothing special. He said to keep a watch on the station. I plan to fly down the surface to let Lieutenant Grenn know what had happened, then the same thing to the leaders in the city"

"I will come with you" Canderous volunteered himself.

"Alright try not to get arrested again" he told his friend, as the two laughed. They got inside the Ebon Hawk, piloting the ship out of the docking area. Outside space the two saw the destruction that the battle caused. Ships were all destroyed, bodies were everywhere, as they floated through the depths of space. Canderous looked at Carth, who was just staring out the window. He could tell there was something on his friend's mind. The veteran had been through two wars, with one being the Mandalorian Wars, and the other being the Jedi Civil War. He had thought it was finally over, but he was wrong. Carth ignored what he saw, and took the ship down to the surface. They landed in the hangar at the citadel, where they have been in primary contact with the lieutenant of the facility. The two walked out as they were greeted by Grenn and his men. Carth stepped forward to greet them, "Lieutenant, I have come to inform you that there has been an attack. That is why we haven't been able to communicate with your citadel. Our communications were disabled" Carth stopped talking as he could already tell by the look on their face that they were not surprised. That is when Lieutenant Grenn started to speak, "We know that. Isn't that why you sent one of your own men down here?"

"What?" Carth said confusedly.

Grenn continued, "You sent one of your men down here to help keep watch over the station, Don't you remember"

Carth shook his head, "We didn't send anyone. We spent hours trying to fix things. I came down here with my associate to inform you what was going on" the group stopped to look at each other. Grenn spoke again, "Someone came here. He was a Weequay, missing an eye. Thought you sent him?"the group after pausing left the hanger, realizing something wasn't right. They went up to the higher levels to the Republic officer's room. Carth had knocked on the door once, using his authority to demand that the door was to be opened, but there was no response. He knocked again, but like the first time there was no answer. Canderous turned to citadels officer's, already not on good terms with them, "You let this person in here?"

Grenn turned to Canderous to confront him, "We were just following procedures. How about you? Aren't you Republic surprised to keep tabs on all your men, we do here" Canderous clenched his fist like he was ready to fight, but Carth stood in the way, "Don't you have the master key?"

Grenn grabbed the key from his pocket, waving in the air before he could swipe it down. The door opened, and there was no one in there. The three stepped into the room to look around. Canderous walked around for evidence, but the room was spotless. Carth turned to the Lieutenant, "You said this is where he was staying?"

Grenn nodded his head, "Yes, he said his name was Han Jinn. He mostly went to explore the station"

"When did you say he got here?" Carth asked.

"Right after the battle broke out" Grenn responded. He saw the look on Carth's face as it froze, "Everyone was in space fighting" Carth told him. This caused Grenn to alert his guards to be aware of what was going on. He had ordered them to have every officer on the station to look for the intruder without having to alert the civilians that lived on the citadel.

Hanjin overhears this by hiding behind a wall. This caused him to act quickly. When he walked out, he quickly took action against an officer, who didn't see him. The Weequay grabbed him from behind, putting him in a choke hold. He squeezed until the officer stopped breathing. He then decided to pull him away, changing into the officer's clothes before leaving. The body was left behind in a spare room after Hanjin had killed the person living in it. The door was shut, as he left. Realizing he has been compromised, Hanjin decided to move up his plan. He took the detonator out of his pocket. His thumb pressed the red button.

On the Republic station above Telos, the prisoners that were captured faced interrogation. Republic militia tried to squeeze information out of them. So far no one spoke. They tried again, but this time each of the captives dropped to the floor in pain. They couldn't hold their stomachs after their arms were cuffed behind their backs, but the officers could tell there was a red light coming through their shuts. They lifted the shirts up to see a red glow, "Hail the Sith Empire '' the sith remnant said before an explosion went off. Explosions went off in the interrogation room, and where the other captives were being held that were not interrogated. It went through the halls, and through the hanger.

Carth, and Canderous were talking with the officers of the citadel before looking up through the glass ceiling. They went outside to see an explosion above the planet. Each of them were speechless. The station that the Republic had built to watch over the planet was destroyed.
