Chapter 20

~Aurora~

That night had been really intense. I hadn't expected Zayne to even be there.

Basically, I figured out I would've been nothing but a slave for my entire existence. I ran out on Zayne towards my apartment in tears. My human heart felt broken.

What I had planned to do was try to speak to God on the rooftop, so I attempted to ascend the fire escape. Unfortunately, my plan backfired when someone appeared in front of me.

"Aurora?" The person asked with a thick husky voice.

My heart rate accelerated. How did he know my name?

I began to back away from the man as he took a couple of steps closer to me. "Would you mind if we ask you some questions about past unnatural events?"

I kept my gaze on the man, just before I heard footsteps on my right. There was another similar person, standing in the same attire as the first. Looking around, there was another on my left. All three were closing in on me, as I was trembling with fear.
