Chapter 5: Day 1 Part 1

I awoke to the sound of the chirping birds whose song signified the early beginning of the morning. The morning sky was a bright pink which faded into a light blue.

Standing up, I looked around the room. The scarlet carpet covered every inch of the room's floor. The walls were pure beige. They stretched up to the ceiling which then turned white.

The nightstand and the dresser were back where they originally were. My backpack sat on top of the dark wood dresser.

I walked over to my bag where my clothes were located. A note was written and placed on the bag. It was sealed in an envelope with a red wax stamp.

''Seems important. And quite eerie. Soooo maybe I shouldn't open it since it might be an ancient curse that could haunt my dreams and slowly torture me to death. But it could also be something nice. So in conclusion, the bad outweighs the good, therefore I won't open it.''

Its a bit stupid that I said it out loud, thankfully no one was around to hear me.

I quickly hop in the shower. I grab one of the complimentary towels and hop in the shower. I twist the glass knob which displays the temperature. The water started running down my back. The cold stream slowly turned into the temperature that was appropriately put in.

The hot water felt so good. It was like washing away your sins. Not that I have any. Feels like getting a massage by a professional massage dude.

After twenty minutes passed, I stepped onto the cold tiles of the bathroom floor. It was very unwelcoming. I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my waist. No reason at all.

I peeked around the corner to see if anyone was there. Seems like I am paranoid after yesterday. I mean, who wouldn't be. Getting chased by nightmare fuel isn't exactly something that happens often, or rather, it never happens.

Quickly getting dressed, I took out all the clothes and threw them on the bed which remained unmade. All that was in the bag was sunscreen, a bottle of water, a notepad, a pen, and a powerhouse with a charger.

I put on my jeans which were worn down from being worn for school weekly. On top of my white T-shirt, I put on a red flannel that completes my dorky look. Either that or a sad old lumberjack.

Patting down my pockets I realized that my phone was not there. I look around and spot my phone on the nightstand, underneath another identical letter to the previous one.

I picked up both my phone and the letter, placed the phone in my pocket, and found myself throwing the letter in the bin.

As soon as the letter hit the bottom of the bin a screaming noise which was far quickly neared. Those footsteps were unforgettable. It got louder and louder and louder.

It suddenly stopped at the door of my room. It stayed there for a short period of time, maybe around thirty seconds. And then took off in a hurry.

I equipped my backpack and set off towards my friend's room. Should I bring up the dripper dropper and the eyeless baboon or should I keep quiet?

On one hand, if I tell them there is a high chance they will think of me as more of a weird guy than they already think of me as.

If I don't tell them then nothing bad will happen between them and me.

But no matter what I have to stick with at least one of them at all times. I can't be having any more close calls like last night.

That shit was terrifying. No, it was worse than that. Even thinking about it makes my skin crawl. Why did they decide to chase ME?

There are other people here at this resort. There were a few cars yesterday in the parking lot. So then why me? It doesn't make sense. Why does something like that even exist? It defies all logic.

I reach into my backpack to take out the notepad and the pen. Jotting down the experiences here, I line up things that make sense, and those that don't.

Storing it back in my bag, I set off for their rooms. The door slowly opened by itself which revealed another identical letter. These 'things'' really are trying to get me to read this letter.

I store it away in my backpack and head towards my friend's rooms. Thankfully they are right beside each other. Their rooms were 735 and 736. Which were to the....

In which direction was their room?
