Chapter 9: Mind Attack

As soon as he felt that pain at his neck, he felt a presence attacking the mind shields he had painstakingly erected during his time on the hunt for the Horcruxes. Back then, it was clear to him that he had no chance to fight Voldemort with his mind open to him.

His focus on occlumency over the last few days had helped to massively improve them and allowed him to sense an attack on his mental shields. He quickly began focusing on his mental defenses to defend against the first attack on his mind in a while.

He realized his shields were holding against the pressure originating from the new presence, but the sheer size of the presence that was assaulting his mental shields was enormous.

Unfortunately, he was quite inexperienced with the mind arts, but he did his best to gather his willpower to eject the being from his mind. He only managed to push the presence away from his shields a bit before it continued with its attack.

Harry Potter wouldn't just lay down and wait in defense. Once he saw that there was no point in simply focusing on defense, he decided to change tactics and directly attack the presence's mind.

Catching it by surprise, he used his control over zero-point energy to grab its presence and devour its memories. This time the being was panicking and tried to flee, but it was to no avail; Harry was already too deep and began to absorb its personality and the part of the mind responsible for independent thinking.

Part by part, he is ripping apart and absorbing every bit of that being. The memories and mind of that being fused with his, and he was able to learn quite a lot of new information.

And he didn't stop until there was nothing left in the mind of that being that had entered his body. Once it was nothing more than a mindless husk working on its basic instincts, Harry began to neatly fuse the thousands of years' worth of memories and experiences into the chaotic mind he had right now.

Harry only had enough time to make a quick patch-up job; he learned enough from these memories to realize what was going on; he needed to help Pansy quickly; she was in danger if he was right.

The lifeform that had entered his body and tried to take over his mind was from a race called the Goa'uld. They are a race of snake-like parasites that can enter the bodies of other lifeforms and control their minds.

For the body itself, they are quite beneficial, keeping it in peak health and enhancing its strength and intelligence. Which is quite nice, of course, if it weren't for the pesky side effect that the parasite was taking the host's body and almost completely suppressing the host's mind in a normal case.

Thanks to the Mind Arts, Harry turned tables on that parasite and destroyed its mind, reaping only the benefits for his body with around 20,000 years' worth of memories and emotions filling his mind up even more.

Normally, he would take more time to reconcile his memories, but he didn't have the luxury of time here; unlike him, Pansy didn't learn the mind arts and was in active danger of losing herself to the other Goa'uld Isis. So Harry had to rush and accept any possible side effects that Osiris's memories would bring him.

Yes, Isis and Osiris are the actual Egyptian gods. The gods of many mythologies on Earth were Goa'uld, who once ruled over the planet, but something must have happened to them that they left Earth, and mankind could develop.

What? He didn't know. Osiris was by that time already imprisoned in a stasis jar because he tried to overthrow Ra, the Supreme System Lord and Ruler of all Goa'uld. These stasis jars were what Harry had fished out of the ocean. How do they get there? He had no idea. They were in Egypt, right where that red dot was.

Having finished fixing up his mind, Harry opened his eyes and put on his clothes before stepping out of the bathroom into his room, where Pansy was standing looking for him.

Her eyes began to glow, and Harry knew that Isis had taken over her body. Controlling his own symbiote, Harry made his own eyes glow to not arouse her suspicion. He didn't know how much of Pansy's magical abilities Isis could use right now, but he didn't want to find out if he didn't need to.

Making his voice sound deep and booming, he greeted her, "Isis, my queen, did you take over your vessel without troubles?"

"It's good to be free, my king."I had no problem with mine. Did you realize what they are? Can you feel the power of these Hok'tar?" asked Isis in a similar voice to his, just a bit more female.

Harry realized Isis knew exactly they had magic; Hok'tar was the Goa'uld term for enhanced humans. A Hok'tar was the wet dream of every Goa'uld; this would allow them to look even more like gods. They always had to rely on technology to make their followers believe they were gods.

One thing was sure: he couldn't allow her to leave and gain control over her powers. The understanding of technology of the Goa'ulds is a far cry from that of the Ancients, but high enough to take over Earth. Not even mentioning now that with magic, she would be a serious threat to the Galaxy itself. The Goa'uld had already ruled it thousands of years ago. They spread humankind as their slaves all over the galaxy. He didn't believe she could convince the people of Earth with magic that she was a god, but it would definitely work somewhere else and could take over the domain of other System Lords with it.

She could return any time and take over Earth by then. Isis was a threat he had to take care of, no matter the price. Easier said than done with his mind all scrambled and Osiris's memories steadily influencing him more and more.

"Yes, my host is quite powerful and resisted strongly until I managed to suppress his mind. But his powers are impressive," Harry said with his Goa'uld voice.

"Indeed, I am pleased to see you, my king."We are finally reunited and can once again rule over the lesser beings," she said, sounding pleased and convinced that she was talking to Osiris.

Exactly what Harry wanted her to do, "Yes, and with these Hok'tar, Ra will pay for his discretion against us."

This was the first time Isis had a smile on her face. "He will pay! Let's learn to control our new powers and then head out to retake our rightful place. I believe this place has a library with new knowledge for us to take."

"Lead the way, my beloved," Harry said with a smile on his own face. But the moment Isis had turned around, he pointed his finger and said, "Legilimens!"

Using the moment her back was turned towards him, he attacked with a mental attack. He hadn't used the spell before, but thanks to Snape and Voldemort, he had enough experience with it to actually use it.

His target wasn't to hurt Pansy; instead, he directly focused all his mental power on the symbiote. Unfortunately, he wasn't sure whether this would work. Unlike with him and Osiris, Isis managed to take directly over Pansy's mind, and her consciousness blended over Pansy's directly into her brain.

Combined with the fact that Osiris's memories were affecting him, he had no idea what would happen to them. But this was their best chance to get out of this unscathed as far as they could.

Isis, like Osiris, had a massive mind, but thanks to all the memories of Osiris and the enhancement of the symbiote, Harry even surpassed that. Combined with the element of surprise, he managed to shatter the mind inside of Isis's symbiote.

Still, it was connected to Pansy, and like with him, he could feel the thousands of years of memories flooding her mind.

His own mind wasn't stable enough, and the quick fixes he added to his own mind broke apart, and the memories and emotions of Osiris ripped into his own consciousness. This time he was in serious pain since he wasn't able to control the flow fast enough.

Right now, Harry was reliving thousands of years of experience that Osiris had lived through during his long life. From being born, enslaving the Una's, discovering the use of the Stargate, to spreading through the Galaxy and enslaving most of the life in it,

He lived through every moment, not just seeing it; he lived through them with the full emotions behind them. What for Harry was thousands of years, outside of his own mind, was just a few seconds before he dropped onto the floor right beside the unmoving form of Pansy Parkinson.
