StarDuster - Glory of the Umbral Avenger

My Father always told me to stand tall, this is my opportunity to do just that. [ This novel has been discontinued, a redux version of this series is currently in production. ] A glorious reign over the realm only to be hunted, a glorious return only to be haunted. Avery Hall had a fair share of experience when it came to the many layers of humanity. With the death of our real world in the future, everyone gets digitized and becomes... well, Immortal. To a degree. But how to do you spend immortality? Video Games... of course, with everything being digital... and with Hyper Advanced A.I... it's possible to create games that simulate what reality used to be like. Our story takes place in Starduster MMO, a fantasy based MMO game where the game's story is run mainly by player choice, with any choice being an important factor into anything. Our main point of view is Avery Hall, who specializes in the Sniper Class, a long range damage class that uses a Rifle. He is quite efficient at making use of all he has available, and is kind of a jerk. Avery also has been preventing the Progress of the game by holding on to a Key Artifact, other players find out about this and after a while decide they don't want him around anymore. While normally death lowers levels... his reputation is too low within the game and he gets banned, luckily he has a second account, as most V.I.P. users in the world do... Avery, swears to return the status quo, but maybe he'll be good this time... hopefully, habits take a long time to stop. So we join Avery's journey to get back to the top, just make sure he doesn't forget to properly transfer accounts.

Decay

The Corruption, also commonly revered to as the " Dark side " of StarDuster, is a well known area by players for it's unique fauna and wild life.

The entire of the Corruption's territory is purple in theme, with decayed material not being uncommon.

The Corruption consists of two different parts, those being the Stone Bastion and the Overgrowth.

The Stone Bastion is a rocky field type area that hosts many different Monster variants, above ground mineral deposits, and large pitfall like holes in the ground... within such pitfalls lay large glowing heart like faucets of a green goop wich feeds the nearby fauna.

- Included Fauna -

- Ebon Wood Trees -

- Ebon Stone Living Statues -

- Ebon Lichen -

- Ebon Floaty Consumer -

- Ebon Worm -

- Ebon Devourer ( Boss ) -

- Ebon Dryad ( Boss ) -

Ebon wood is a hard and sturdy, black wood that produced high quality furnishings and decorative material... it lacks in weaponry and building due to it's nature to attempts and regrow into a full tree.

Ebon Living statues are created when an NPC or Player dies within the Corruption, becoming encased entirely out of a material hard enough to break enchanted swords... drops the " Shadow Orb " Instant pet.

Ebon Lichen is a mixture of moss and fungus that grows like grass upon its surface, it is usable in a large amount of poisons due to it'd ability to clot blood or cause deadly damage to the brain.

Ebon Floaty Consumers are large worm like creatures that, as stated, floats around during the night. They are capable of chewing through most metals and are slightly resistant to magic, their hide and lens make useful summoning material. Drops:

- Ebon Nibbler ( Pet )

- Rotten Chunk ( Boss summon material )

- Vile Spell book ( Grants Corruption magic )

- Ebon Hide

- Ebon Lens

- Ebony Eye ( Pet )

Ebon Worms are similar to the Floaty Consumers, however they lack the ability of flight and prefer to stay active during the daytime... where they hunt wanderers or sleeping Floaty Consumers for an easy snack. Drops:

- Ebon Egg

- Ebon Hide

- Ebon Lens

- Rotten Chunk

The Ebon Devourer is a large, spiky, and flying serpant like creature that has no physical being in the world, only in existence when 50 rotten chunks are placed around an Ebon Egg... in where the hatchable pet that comes is replaced with a fully grown Boss. It measures at level 89++ and hasn't yet been defeated due to its summon conditions.

The Ebon Dryad is a very rarely encountered creature in the Corruption... usually it sneaks up on injured players, and refuses to show up against parties of more than 4. It hasn't been defeated due to it's impossibility to track down and form a proper raid party against.

I arrived upon the Corruption, it was straight west from Morin... albeit with a slight inclination northwards. Up until now, the ambient music in this world is unnoticeable... I guess its because I have it at a low volume, but I heard that the song here Is actually fucking amazing.

And, it turns out they were right... its a mix between... classical and metal? Its very dark in tone, with no upbeat tones within... its completely the opposite of the regular " OverWorld " theme's bouncy pop beat. To be frank, it gives quite the feeling of... dread? Huh, well... I'll get in and out, or... maybe I could grind here and get a pet? I never had one before... so I guess it will be a new experience!

Pets

Tamed Monsters

Mounts

Light Pets

Summons

A.I.

Undead

Chimeras

Those are all the different slots for different creatures for me to just, have on me. I'll go through those real quick...

Pets: -

Tamed: Anise / Dice

Mount: Car???

Light pet: -

Summons: Asi ...

A.I. : Syn

Undead: The Primordial thing I made

Chimera: -

Did I ever give a name to that primordial thing? I don't remember... I kind of just made it and started working on other things, I hope that doesn't end up badly.

Any who, the sky turned a dark purple slowly as I entered the Corruption... the lichen quivered from the cold that surrounded me as I get hit with a small wave of warm air, its only noon... so my idea is to try and find a chasm and destroy a few of those heart things, supposedly you can get something from those... but I haven't the slightest clue on what is is, or if it even gives you something.

After wondering around a bit, I noticed some shuffling noised in the lichens around me... but, I'll leave it to Syn should it be a hostile. Even without weapons of his own, he is able to hold his own against whatever this weird... biome... has to offer!

So, I'm not going to worry about it! Be it Player killer, Dryad, Demon Lord, I'll fight it off... I hope.

I eventually found a large hole in the ground, full with sharp stones that are similar to teeth in a way... this is most likely a chasm entrance, so... let's hop right in!
