An uncomfortable feeling irked him, as a wave of worry gripped his being, his mother is going hunting. and according to Kuro's memories, humans were not the apex of this planet legend's say's that humanity came from the stars but the great strife came and banish humanity to its current state according to an elder in their former tribe,
but Kuro used to scoff it off saying that those are just fairy tales to give children something to think of seeing/living the memories of 'Julius' made him now believe about those legends are real as they can get, then somewhere out there, there are remnant humans scatter in the stars
as this world was densely populated with countless creatures of mythical and mystical origins some were sentient others' mere beasts that followed their instinct these creatures were called "thirío"
the word was familiar to Julius as the word translates to "Beast" in English these creatures were stronger, faster, and overall better than that normal humans, as they also greatly outnumbered humanity
no one knows how much, but all they know is that there are only ten great cities left that are still functioning bearly, to make's matters worst, level three thirío and up possessed supernatural and divine abilities
because of the threats of thirio, large-scale farmlands outside of the wall of these great cities were a near-level impossibility to maintain as it attract thirio towards them, consequently, large-scale domestication of animals was for food was impractical
Humanities' main source of food was now hunting thirio, an extremely dangerous endeavor it was humanity adopted under the pressure of their circumstances
since the scares to none technology according to the memories of Kuro, the only hope of survival was the type of energy that is abundant due to the rampant of the thirio
one was MANA, to manipulate the metaphysical nature of your surroundings to fit your will or manipulate your body by pouring mana into it to enhance your physical body to fit your surroundings, similar to a fantasy written novel
they've divided into two paths the weaver and the forger
from what Kuro told both of them, is that weavers, and forgers, along with thirio are divided into ten levels, and that kaya was only a level one forger, if she encountered a level two thirio, the only thing she could do is flee and hope that the thing wouldn't chase her,
and if she encountered a level three thirio, the only thing she could do is hope for a miracle for her to survive. for her, right now a hunting trip was a dance with death
Worry and Guilt consumed him. he shouldn't have said anything. he would never be able to forgive and live with himself if a little hunger cause Kaya her life, he finally have a mother and a sister that he could live for a family that he longed for in all his life
it was too late now, kaya already left and he couldn't even wield mana he couldn't even open his portable inventory due to something blocking him, all he could do is clench his fist and pray
and as if fate is playing a joke a voice echoed in his head
"do you want power?"
Kuros eyes widen, as he looked around, noticing this his little sister asked a little bit startled
"big brother?"
"did you hear that?" he asked her
Yuka shook her head in denial, as worry and fear filled her eyes
Kuro felt his heart clench in pain, Yuka is only four, she shouldn't have that look in her eyes
"do you want your power back? do you want release?" the voice asked once more
the voice seem to resonate deeply with his very soul, it sounded like an echo in the depths of reality and existence itself, Kuro felt fear resonates in his being, as he could feel the power and pressure from the voice, he knew that the owner's voice could crush his very being in existence from reality itself with a thought
