Battle For the Citadel

On the Citadel the various races were going about their business while all around the Galaxy the Reapers were taking planets wiping out populations. The Citadel Hospital was full of people who had survived a battle with the Reapers and escaped to safety. It was currently an overload of people who were in the Hospital causing the Hospital to be short on staff.

Although the Citadel may appear calm it was not as many refugees that could escape from the Reapers were on the Citadel and some were arriving every day causing a shortage in Citadel security officers since most were dealing with the many refugees.

The Reaper invasion had yet to reach the Citadel and some assumed it wouldn't but the Reapers had other plans.

From the Relay, Hundreds if not Thousands of Reaper ships had come through and headed full speed towards the Citadel. The Citadel Defense fleets had immediately noticed the Reapers ships and attempted to get into position but the Speed of the Reapers ships and the unprepared Citadel forces resulted in the Citadel forces being caught out of place.

Normally the many races from around the Galaxy would come to the Citadel's defense but they were all so engaged with Reaper forces that they had no fleets to spare so the Citadel defense fleet was overwhelmed since it wasn't as big as a fleet that a race such as the Asari or Turians would have.

The people on the Citadel were currently being evacuated to transport ships. As the Transport ships were leaving to escape to the Relay the Citadel defense fleets attempted to protect them but the number of Reaper forces was overwhelming the Citadel fleet that some Transport ships got destroyed while attempting to flee.

Fighters from both the Citadel fleet and the Reapers were clashing in midst of all the chaos happening around them.

The Destiny Ascension the Flagship of the Citadel fleet was currently evacuating the Council. Usually, the Council would be evacuated by the Destiny Ascension but instead, they were put on a civilian transport and the Destiny Ascension would be used as a shield for that transport so that they can escape.

The transports that did make it to the Relay had jumped to a random Relay in another System as they were in a rush to escape the Reapers and all they wanted was to leave before they get destroyed.

The Citadel fleet was doing good blocking most of the hits from the Reapers while the Transports escape and even killed some Reaper ships but they were still outmatched. The Citadel had a total of 13 million people on board from various races around the Galaxy and only half of those people had escaped as the rest were still on the Citadel which was now being boarded by Reaper ground forces.

The Citadel Security Executor Kaestius Quenmius was in charge of the Citadels Security forces(C-Sec) and he was spearheading the defense for the Citadel until the civilians could escape. The evacuation for the Citadel would take a while since there were a lot of people and some were injured which made the process even longer.

However, the Reapers Ground forces had no regard for the lives of innocent people so those that couldn't make it to a safe place during the Reapers landing were harvested or killed.

Kaestius Quenmius was on the station ordering his man around when another security officer approached him "Sir there are a group of civilians pinned down by Reaper forces in the Citadel Travel advisory" Said the officer as he pulled up a video of the civilians being pinned down by Reaper forces

"Tell team 2 to move to this location to assist the civilians and try and get them on the transport we have about 40 min before the whole station falls under Reaper control and we need to be off the station by that time so tell them to make it quick" Said Kaestius Quenmius. But just as the soldier was about to leave fighting could be heard outside the C-Sec office.

"It looks like they are here" Said Kaestius Quenmius as he knew that these were his last moments alive.

"Men this may be our last moments alive as the Reapers have found us so let us make it a grand last stand that will go down in history For Honor and Glory," said Kaestius Quenmius as he talked to his men

His men all saluted and then joined the fight with the Reapers along with Kaestius. Kaestius was in the frontlines fighting as a Turian would fight brutally destroying the Reapers. His men were fighting alongside him giving it their all since they knew that they would not make it out of this alive.

The last stand of the C-Sec officers had made the Reapers bring in more troops and eventually overwhelmed them but the Security forces were still able to put up a decent fight against the Reapers.

After almost 3 hours of fighting the last Security officer had died and among the battle was a mob of dead Reapers. While a normal race may consider this a loss since they lost lots of troops that wasn't the same for the Reapers who had plenty of troops and they could replenish troops by harvesting other races.

After the last stand of the Security officers which allowed more civilians to escape the Citadel had fallen to the Reapers as the remaining scattered squads of Security officers either left on a transport or stayed to fight the Reapers. While many civilians had escaped there were many who died at the hands of the Reapers as they were stuck on the station.

The Citadel fleet was defeated with no ships remaining and the Reapers had established complete control over the Citadel station and began to fold the arms to move the station to a more suitable location.
