Chapter Forty-Six

"… and now the army are slaughtering any First Nations person who wanders out into their own traditional land. Don't sit back and let this genocide continue. Fight back! Where ever you are, whatever you are doing. Fight back, and let the colonial oppressors know we aren't dead yet. Join the Clan of the White Moose."

Rivers shut the satellite phone off and walked back to Darren.

"I notice you didn't mention the people shooting at the helicopter," Darren followed Rivers into the trees. It was a three hour walk back to the fort. He might get some answers from the man. Darren still hadn't decided what Rivers was about. He seemed serious about a return to First Nations' law and traditions, but he had no problem spinning a horrific situation to his benefit.

"The idiots are supposed to be able to hit the broad side of a barn," Rivers said, "but I hoped to knock out at least one chopper before this happened."
