Rediscovering Lost Arts

When Xue Long opened his eyes the first thing he noticed was that he was standing.

It was nothing like a normal place. He does know that he was cultivating his Lotus Meditation.

In other words, his body was still cultivating, then his mind has been transported to a different location of some sort.

"If my guess is right…"

He looked around and saw Yin and Yang symbol on the ground where he was standing.

"This is my Spirit Palace." 

As he looked around it was the pure white place. There was nothing here except the symbol.

The symbol was humming and glowing with power like a heart beating, emitting power with each glow.

In other words… it was cultivating as he was cultivating Lotus Meditation.

Not only that but he understood the thing about this is that he releases this Symbol to a wide area when the domain is activated.

In other words. This was like some sort of crystallisation and amplification thing. 

The stronger it becomes the stronger will be his understanding of the 'Balance'. The moment he completely understands it…

Will it be…

Apex? Or just another milestone. Who knows. None of the people who he knew ever reached the last stage.

Apart from this Yin and Yang symbol, he was here for a different reason.

Creation of cores. It's the compression of energy into a core. A reactor of attribute or element.

He was here to put the last piece of the puzzle. And seeing the Yin and Yang platform ready for him like this…

The Fourth Prince immediately knew what to do next. But first, his density of Spirit energy has to reach a specific threshold.

Thinking about this for a bit… how to address the issue he remembered Heaven and Earth meditation and how arms are placed!

His eyes widened, it's almost like he grasped the next step!

He closed his eyes and the next moment he opened them and he was sitting outside under a tree. It was a nice day.

His gaze swept the surrounding, a small smile appeared on his face as he saw his future angel wife sleeping while using Qiu'er as a pillow. 

It looked quite cute. Since both of them are like pieces of the same gold.

After looking at her for a few moments Xue Long got up from the ground and walked several metres away and towards the centre of the training area. 

Once he was in place he did several hand motions, focusing on 'grasping' the energies of Heaven and Earth.

Which didn't work. He quickly realised that symbolism is the important part. Since Tai Chi, Boundless fist, Cloud Style and Even Blue Dragon style have leg positions in the same place.

Every single time. Representing the Yin and Yang.

So he did this time as well. Left leg forward and right leg back, that moment there was the reaction from the surroundings, there was even a feeling from his gut.

'Damn… so this how it is… the Meditation of Heaven and Earth is like a key, the lock and the house at the same time!

The moment you grasp those fundamentals the energy accessing becomes easy…'

Sure enough, he closed his eyes and imagined the symbol spinning into existence and did the hand motion, left hand at face level, point at right side while the palm pointing down. While right-hand opposite to left-hand. 

The right hand is at stomach level, pointing at the right side and the palm facing up.

That moment sensing the energies of Heaven and Earth became utterly simple! Xue Long send them into his hands and focusing the area between his hands.  

Forming a disc of energy.

When he opened his eyes he saw a tail tale disc of energy which had Yin and Yang there!

A grin appeared on his lips!

He just discovered an easy way to compress energy!

Sure… the whole thing is quite symbolistic, footing, and hand motion are needed, but once he masters it, he should be able to skip a bunch of phases!

Without wasting any more time, he pushed his hands forward and released the disc of energy into one of the training mannequins.

A loud whistling sounds spread through the area as the blue and white symbol slammed into the mannequin! Exploding in blue and white energy blast, shattering portion of it!

"Wah!? What was that!?" The blonde girl jumped on her feet and summoned her four wings! Ready for combat!

"Relax. I was just experimenting with something."

She relaxed hearing that. Her gaze swept the area and her eyes ended up on the smoking mannequin.

The blonde then looked at him, and then at the mannequin again.

"Ranged attack?"

"...Yep. It appears I 'rediscovered' Chi-based Martial Arts. Or is it Spirit energy mixed with Heaven and Earth energy released as a ranged attack?"

Whe she heard that she had a deadpan look.

"...Why are you making it more difficult for yourself? Just call it Chi attack then." She said with no caring shrug.

Before walking over with crossed arms.

"Well, show me what you 'rediscovered'." She asked with a curious gaze wanting to see it in person.

Xue Long simply chuckled at how she asked him.

Instead of saying anything he repeated his actions and created another disc of energy and then released the blast at the damaged mannequin.

Shredding the top portion off completely.

Once he was done with that he looked at her.

"...Quite… impressive…only the issue is the charging time." Qian Renxue said that with a thoughtful look.

"The charging comes from symbolism and hand motions. Interactions with Heaven and Earth and taking the energy mixing and compressing in my hands.

While I know how to compress my spirit energy it's not that dense for the simple reason that my cultivation Rank is quite low."

"To compensate for that, you using these Heaven and Earth energies. Interesting… is it possible for me to learn it?" 

She asked him cutely.

All she got from him was a chuckle.

"This method is more unique than Lotus or Arthan's meditation. Where they focus on person, this one focuses on the land itself."

*Hmph!*

"You haven't taught me those yet either!"

"True. Well since you are my lovely fiance." He said that with a teasing tone. Which earned him a slight blush from her, however her 'armour' is far stronger than Hu Liena's or Na'er so there was no extra reaction from her only simple blush.

"I am going to give you chance to grasp Heaven and Earth meditation." As he said that mist appeared around his hands. He thrusted both hands forward it was not a palm strike but something similar to a backhand strike where one strikes with the back of his hands.

However, he is not striking anything this was simply the 'beginning' of cultivation of art.

The moment he did that action a disc with the Yin and Yang symbol with Xue Long in the middle rapidly expanded and the domain of cultivation was released.

Qian Renxue's mouth opened wide as she saw the changes in the surrounding.

Moments later she was bombarded with Heaven and Earth energy! The amount in this place of it was simply staggering!

[This is the Domain of Cultivation, the fifth stage of Heaven and Earth. I reached this stage a few days ago.]

The blonde quickly snapped in shock and looked around from where her future husband's voice is coming from.

[Don't try to look. I am talking to you directly.]

[The difference between this and Lotus or Arthan's meditation is that you need to understand those two to begin grasping this.]

"...Why? Because how complex it is?" She said that with a frown.

[It's not complex, it's how you view things. 

There has to be balance in all things, for each action, there is a consequence, Heaven and Earth, Sky and Land, Darkness and Light, and many more. Can't exist without each other. The symbol you see represents that.

Does this make sense to you? It most likely does. But to truly grasp it you need to understand yourself first. This way we all start with Lotus meditation first because it's the easiest.]

As he said that, the blonde had serious look and tried to copy the way Xue Long was standing. 

What she found out quickly is how… uncomfortable it is to stand this way. And… simply her legs are going to give in, in just a few moments.

'This is the same leg positioning when I am training for the Cloud style! So why the moment I put my hands like that it becomes hard to stand!?"

She tried couple more tries before surrendering.

"Fine. I will try the Lotus meditation first." She said that while crossing her arms and sighing in defeat. This is getting annoying to her for the simple reason that the blonde is constantly losing.

At least that's how she is seeing this. However, she can't deny how quickly she is getting stronger.

After she said that the domain was undone, instantaneously.

He walked over to her and touched her forehead with a glowing golden finger. 

That moment her eyes went wide for a second. She expected some sort of routine of breathing and spirit energy control!

Not…glimpse at some sort of different world of meditation!

"W-What was that!?"

"A starting point from where you have to start meditating this. Once you understand yourself we can start with understanding the surroundings."

For a few moments, she had a grumpy-like look before understanding what she needs to do.

"Fine. I will try this the way it was shown." 

As she said that she walked over back to under the tree and dropped on the ground quite… inelegantly. Reminding him of kids who didn't get what they wanted.

Sensing all that the Golden Lion started rubbing herself into her. Trying to cheer her up.

"I am fine!"

The big cat looked at her with her golden eyes almost saying that… nope she doesn't believe that one bit!

"Sigh. You are just a big fluffy cat how can you understand my annoyance?" 

To answer that that back the golden lion…licked her face…

The blonde Saintess's face instantly exploded with horror as she realised what just happened!

"GROSS!!!"

"LONG! CONTROL YOUR FELINE!"

After Qian Renxue quickly left to take her bath, and Xue Long got over his laughing fit he looked at his hands for a bit.

He remembered the move he 're-invented'…

"That laugh was great! I think Qiu'er already started to develop her pride. She didn't like being called fluffy feline." Tang Wutong said thst as she floated over and looked at the Fourth Prince.

"She is. Her aura is close to 200 years now. At least how darker the yellow aura is getting around her."

"That art of yours is rapidly advancing her age. I have never seen anything like this before." The butterfly girl said that as she was getting quite friendly with him.

"It is based on principles that all forces are in some sort of balance and that we have to understand them to improve ourselves." As Xue Long said that he remembered his lessons back in China about the different arts Wu-Dong had.

'Did they truly used to have Chi-based attacks back in the day? By that time I called it nonsense since I lost hope to use beams but did Black Tortoise arts were real?'

'Back in the day, Wu Dang used to have fourth branches of martial arts, Blue Dragon, the Divine Sword school where Cloud style and Blue Dragon styles came from, then White Tiger, where Tai-Chi and Boundless fist came from, 

Followed by two extinct schools, the Red Phoenix which is used to cast battle formations, and Black Tortoise. The Black Tortoises' motto used to be 'I will kill you without even touching you.'

As Xue Long thought about this he took the stance and swirled his hands and a disc of energy formed in his hands he then released it at the half of the remaining mannequin destroying it completely in the process.

'So… Chi arts were real in truth? I only learned after being whiskered away.' 

The Prince snorted to himself in quite a depressing manner.

"What is wrong?"

"Nothing. I realized that I was lacking." 

"Ehhh!? Lacking!?"

"Yep, not good enough."

His words only confused the butterfly girl who looked at the smoking pile of wood!

How is this lacking!?
