My sanity was questioned

I have shared my memories with them from the beginning. But they didn't peek into my mind. They could have. They chose to respect my privacy.

Aera asked for my permission to take a peek into my memories. I granted permission to everyone.

We are still here. In this kind of spooky forest. And they have already dived inside my memories.

"So Clive, are you actually going to do it? I mean, how things are going, you can easily achieve your peace." (System)

"I know. I am totally aware of that. But, I don't like it when everything goes too smoothly."

"You are one fickle man. You preach about peace but don't like it when it's peaceful. You talk about a easy life but you yourself are making it harder. And most of all, you are heading full speed ahead to your own demise." (System)

"What? Are you worried about me?"

"I am. Because, I have been watching over you since you were born. I don't want you to die so early." (System)

"Don't worry. I am cutting everything off. I will subtly disappear from their lives. And then, I will go pick a fight with the gods of this world. Head to the next world. Fight the gods again. After that, I will pick a fight with the harbingers. Once I am done with them, I will pick a fight with this entire system."

That's how I plan it to be. But nothing is set in stone.

"And what after that? Are you done?" (System)

"Well, if I am alive after all of that, then I will go back to earth. And probably spend the rest of my life there. I hope you will be with me when that happens."

"Are you proposing to me?" (System)

"Take it as a proposal. Are you willing to go down with me?"

"Why not! I was far too bored in my own world. If you can show me a good time, I have no problem being the only one with you." (System)

She takes my hand. Her hand is warm and I feel kinda fuzzy holding her hand. But it doesn't feel bad. This silence is nice as she leans herself against me. We both are sharing this moment together.

Although there are four more people, they are currently inside of my memories. They can't perceive anything currently.

I made myself a tragic person. So let's go all out with the tragedy. I do have to say though, I am quite lucky for a tragic person.

"System, I oftentimes wonder. If I had taken a different action back then, what would have happened? Back when I killed that guy."

"Nothing much. You would have been tied up and a bit beaten up. But in the end, you would have been rescued and went back to your normal life. You would probably have lived a more fulfilling life than now." (System)

"Nah, I think this is the best life possible. But, I did change the possibilities, didn't I?"

"Yes. No one was supposed to have survived. But you did. There should have been no one named Hazel. But she is here. Eden and Aura should have died as bears. Aegis and Aera would have been successfully transported to this world.

Doris should have died and Amaryllis should have been destroyed. You changed so many fates by just surviving." (System)

"It sounds like a big deal. I wonder why am I still alive?"

"You are something of a bug in this system. A strong one at that. The system is coming up with counter measures against you. I just want to see if you can dominate this stubborn system or not." (System)

"You sound like you know the one responsible for this system!"

"I do. And I want to get back at them. Crush them and take over this system. That's what I expect you to do. And the best thing is, you are slowly doing just that." (System)

Our talk was getting worse and worse by the second. It's getting too convoluted. The story is becoming hard to follow.

That's when I heard a gasp for air. All of them have opened their eyes and are gasping for air. I let them catch their breaths.

"Are you guys okay?" (System)

They didn't answer the question. Rather, I was being stared at. A very serious stare at that.

"What's wrong?"

"EVERYTHING!!!!"

They shouted in unison. I almost fell on my back.

"Master, I knew that you were different. But what you did is downright impossible." (Aera)

"I didn't know that master was using me to do such ridiculous things." (Aegis)

"Master, I know that I have joined you the last. But still, your actions are pretty inhuman. No, you are just a plain lunatic." (Amaryllis)

"Master, what are you planning on doing to them?" (Doris)

I was bombarded with questions. My intentions were being questioned. My actions were being questioned.

"So you have seen everything I have done and what I plan to do. Then it should be easy to understand."

"Easy for you to say. What you are planning to do is just plain madness. You aren't even thinking about their feelings." (Aera)

"No, I am a selfish man. I will do what I think is right. I am doing everything to protect them from me."

"Master, you should talk to them at least once." (Amaryllis)

"No. I have no right no control them. I just want them to live a happy life. That's all I wanted to let you know. And I will do it. Whether you help me or not."

My decision is final. I am not backing down. They stared at each other for a moment and then looked at System. Then just heaved a big sigh.

"We get it master. We will help you achieve your goals." (Aera)

"Thank you."

I am grateful that they agreed so easily.

"But master, your sanity has become zero. You aren't a sane person anymore." (Aera)

I know. Still, have to live with what I have. Our meeting is over. System went her home and we teleported back to our original location.

Tomorrow, I will go into the town to fully scout it. Because, this town or city is bigger than it looks. Need to explore a bit. This arc can be called over. From next chapter, will begin my life on this Jupiter.
