With his eyelids fluttering, Luca's frazzled consciousness calmed and his vision returned to a stable state. Taking a look at his body, he took in the new sensations he felt from his body and mind. The feeling of having a tail and wings was novel, to say the least. Thankfully, as he had the bloodline originally, he had no trouble controlling them for the most part. He wasn't prepared to fly just yet, so he folded his wings against his back and continued viewing his body. The glider fins on his body were unique to certain kinds of dragons, but they only appeared in humanoid form when willed into appearing. As such, he folded them as well, and they shimmered before seeming to disappear entirely. Luca could feel their existence, but they no longer physically affected him.
Arcturus looked over as he finished up another Stream spell, (Wow, big brother... your new form looks incredible.)
The boy chuckled with a mild amount of shyness, "It feels incredible..." Looking at his skin, he could vaguely see tiny, uniform scales that blended in with his natural tone, and his fingernails felt far more solid compared to normal human ones. "If I didn't stand out before, now I really will." Luca willed his draconic aspects, his wings and tail to be specific, to become hidden like his glider fins, though his new facial tattoos could not be hidden. His newly awakened aura also remained, as he gave off the regal yet domineering feeling that dragons intrinsically radiate. He noticed that his clothes had been ripped into almost nothing after his sudden awakening, making him nearly nude. "Sh-shit, I knew I should have brought extra clothes..." Luca expanded his wings before covering himself in them, thankful that the glassy colouration did not include transparency. If anything, his draconic parts' scales seemed to be more akin to mirrors than glass. "R-Reed, you can come out now..."
The boy's shy expression became more apparent as the scout uncrouched from behind the small dragon, his eyes focusing on the more unique appearance that Luca had taken on. "You... you're a Dragonborn? A real one?" Dragonborns were quite famous, and often appeared in old legends, but seeing one in person was always different compared to hearing about them in tales and songs. Discovering that the little hero that saved the coalition's expedition from failure with one attack also happened to be a new Dragonborn was beyond explanation.
While a normal boy might be ecstatic at being recognized as a famous being, Luca was not only not a normal boy, he was also almost naked. As such, he could only stammer, flustered as he was, "A r-real o-one that d-doesn't have a-any clothes on..."
Sure, it took Reed a minute to catch the meaning of Luca's words through his surprised and overloaded mind, but he did move quickly once he did. "Ah, hold on just a minute." With the current battle status, Reed deemed it fine to remove his armour and cloth shirt, replacing his armour before moving to hand over the shirt to the red-faced boy, "Here, put this on for now. Once the battle is over, we'll find something better."
Luca took the shirt with a meek grin, slipped his arms through the sleeves and, in sync with folding his wings, covered his body with it. Thankful that it reached his knees due to his short stature, he felt much less vulnerable than before. "I should have bought spare clothes back in town..."
"We all make mistakes. Yours just involved losing all of your clothing. No big deal. Just be glad it wasn't in public." Reed consoled the boy, patting him on the head, "For now, be proud. You're today's little hero, after all."
A quarter of an hour passed before the final bandit was slain, and the host of adventurers, soldiers and mages cheered in victory, as did Arcturus and Luca. From this point, the coalition began to clean up the battlefield and tally the losses. As this happened, Luca looked over his new gains. The first was, as Arcturus had said, more than doubling his health and mana capacity to 750hp and 1000mp respectively. The second was his collective spell archives had expanded exponentially with the influx of knowledge from the ancestral draconic knowledge. Lastly, his racial status had been updated to include his bloodline.
___
Name: Luca
Race: Dragonborn (Human, Mirror Dragon)
Age: 10
Class: Lv. 1 Mage
Affinity: Light, Space, Unique (Mirror)
Familiar: Arcturus (B-Grade Dragonkin)
___
"That's odd, I've never come across a Mirror Dragon before. It has a Unique-type affinity? What kind of godly beast is a Mirror Dragon?" Luca had never heard of a Mirror Dragon before, though he had heard of the term Chromatic Dragon, an overlaying word for coloured dragon species. He'd half expected to get one or two affinities, but the Unique affinity was not part of what he'd pictured! The System heard his rather loud thought, which was nearly spoken, and answered calmly with a pop-up.
___
Species: Mirror Dragon (Subspecies of Dragon)
Affinity: Universal (TBC)
Last Recorded Appearance: None (Extinct long before Sage Era)
Physical Description: Quadrupedal being with glassy, mirror-esque scale colouration when in its natural state, can become almost invisible by using the scales to hide. Glider fins and wings are universal to the species.
Magical Abilities: Mirror Dragons prove themselves to be unique via their inherent racial talent, Mirror Magic. Mirror Magic can absorb, reflect, strengthen or weaken magic to certain degrees. Magical attacks made against Mirror Magic result in either absorption to refuel their mana loss or reflection at an equal or greater power, though some of most proficient can convert the elements of the attack into another. If cast through Mirror Magic, buffs, heals and debuffs are boosted. While their affinity remains up for question, they are suspected to be Universal due to their fluid capabilities with all known elements, including Holy/Divine. Due to their special nature, they also have access to the entire ancestral knowledge of the dragons rather than species or affinity specific sections, giving them more of the signature abilities of their kin. At their peak, they are capable of fighting deities without suffering major disadvantages.
Known Weaknesses: Mirror Dragons grow slower than all other dragons by a large margin, taking more than 500 years to reach adulthood, while even the species with the second-longest juvenile period only takes 150-200 years. They cannot reflect or absorb curses, hexes, summoning spells, or anything of the Natural Balance elements, and most racial abilities with some exceptions such as Charm Magic, the Unique-type magic of the Succubus Demons. Their intrinsic magic's greatest weakness is its inability to handle Spirit, Poison or Void elemental spells.
