Spider-X Chapter 14

***********************3rd Peron POV*************************

Jean is driving to a new night club with Storm. It was supposed to be a fun evening of drinking and dancing, but Jean just had a fight with her longtime boyfriend Scott and the air was anything, but relaxed. "MOVE YOUR CAR THE LIGHTS GREEN" Jean screamed at the car in front of her.

"You want to talk about it," Storm asked Jean in a calm voice.

"He's just so stubborn sometimes he has this idea in his head and won't let it go for the life of him," Jean says sighing.

"And I'm guessing the idea is Logan" Storm said.

"Please don't tell me you think I'm sleeping with him too," Jean said.

"I don't know what to think so I'm just going to ask are you," Storm says with a serious tone.

"FUCK NO WHY WOULD YOU, JUST NO," Jean said losing all her composure.

"Alright, I believe you no need to shout I just had to ask," Storm said trying to calm down Jean.

"Sorry Ororo I didn't mean to bite your head off it's just Scott's got me all stressed out," Jean said apologetically.

"Is it Scott that has you stressed or is it your secrets" Storm asked knowingly.

"What secrets?" Jean asks.

"You know which ones. You may not be sleeping with Logan, but it's clear something is going on" Storm continues.

"Your right I do have something I haven't told anyone not even Scott and it's probably the reason we've been fighting so much lately," Jean says slightly ashamed.

"What is it," Storm asked.

"I can't say the professor swore me to secrecy," Jean says.

"The professor's involved now I'm 100 percent certain it's not an affair," Storm says.

"Yeah I told you it wasn't," Jean says defensively. "Can we just promise each other to not talk about the men in our lives for the rest of the night" Jean continued.

"Sure now let's get drunk" Storm said as Jean tried to parallel park into an open spot. As they both got out it was very clear that the car was not fully in the spot. Jean stood in front of the parking meter and used her powers to adjust the car fitting into the spot perfectly.

"MUTANT" A middle-aged woman screamed from a few feet away. Jean slowly turned and looked at her.

"Is there a problem ma'am?" Jean said respectfully.

"YES, THERE IS YOU USING YOUR POWERS PUTTING US ALL IN DANGER" the woman continued to yell as she pulled out her phone and dialed 9-1-1. Storm leaned over to Jean and asked "Do you want to handle this or should I"

"I got this" Jean responded. "Ma'am calling the police would only waste their time I haven't broken any laws" Jean Continued taking a step towards the woman.

"Don't lie I saw you use your mutie powers on that car?" The woman said with hate in her voice. "Yes hello, there is a mutant destroying property send some help before she does any more damage." The woman said.

"Ma'am this car is my property and I caused no damage I simply moved it and besides the normal 9-1-1 operators can't do anything for this situation," Jean said as she pulled out her phone and called the head of the New York Mutant affairs division. "Hello, officer Misty Knight there is a woman calling about a mutant disturbance on 9-1-1 right now the threat is me please disregard it," Jean said smiling at the woman on the phone. Judging from the woman changed expression Jean's call must have worked.

"WHAT DID YOU DO 9-1-1 JUST HUNG UP ON ME" The woman screamed.

"I told you I posed no threat and broke no laws the NYPD just saw this as a waste of time, have a nice night ma'am," Jean said as she casually walked into the dance club.

"That was perfect you mind if I post this online" Storm walked over to Jean and asked.

"Go ahead" Jean responded

"Good cause I have the perfect name for it how does "Meter Maid Mandy" sound," Storm said gesturing like it was the title of a film she directed.

****************Meanwhile at the X-Mansion*****************

Peter is sitting at the kitchen table while Scott is in the refrigerator grabbing a beer "Peter you want anything theirs some soda in here" Scott says with his head still in the fridge.

"Sure soda sounds fine," Peter says wondering what Scott wants to talk to him about. Scott hands Peter a soda and opens his beer taking a long sip and sighing Scott looks lost in thought for a moment before saying "Jean was different when we were younger"

"What do you mean," Peter said before taking a sip of his soda

"She used to be shy and always concerned about others now she's" Peter interrupts and says "An omega level mutant that doesn't give a crap about people's opinions".

"Yeah" Scott drinks more of his beer and looks depressed.

"Scott why are you talking to me about this" Peter asks

"I don't know maybe I'm looking for advice or maybe because I see what you have with Kitty is what Jean and I used to be," Scott says

"Scott I've been dating Kitty for five minutes we've never even had a fight I'm not sure what kind of advice I can give," Peter says not sure what to do in this situation.

"Your probably right" Scott says dejectedly. Peter sighs and thinks for a moment.

"How does Jean make you feel," Peter asks.

"What do you mean," Scott asks.

"I'm asking do you still love her," Peter says.

"Yes of course," Scott says.

"And you still want to be with her," Peter asks.

"Yes," Scott said confidently.

"Then you just need to talk to Jean," Peter says.

"But what about Logan," Scott says reminding himself of the fight.

"Logan's going to do what Logan's going to do all you can do is trust Jean and the relationship you've spent years building," Peter says finishing his soda.

"Wow I need to talk to Jean," Scott says running out the kitchen leaving the X-Mansion.

"I never thought all those romance movie advice scenes would ever come in handy" Peter says to himself going into his room for the night.

*********************Back at the club******************

Jean and Storm are dancing enjoying themselves, and right as the song finishes Jean heads back to the bar to get a drink while Storm continues to dances with a man she's been flirting with since she walked in the club. Jean sips on a strawberry Daiquiri and can't help thinking about what Scott is doing and what they will say to each when they get back. She feels a tap on her shoulder and turns to see Scott standing there.

"What are you doing here and how did you know where I was going to this club," Jean says with surprise in her voice.

"I saw Ororo's latest post it had this bar in the background by the way the video's already got 20,000 views," Scott says pulling out his phone.

"So you followed me to yell at me some more" Jean says with a bitter tone.

"No I came to talk to you and it couldn't wait," Scott says suddenly seeming serious. "Jean I love you and I know I've been stuck in past always reminding you how things used to be and I came to tell you I'll stop immediately". Jean looks at Scott and she feels everything she did wrong in their relationship the unkind words she said and how she was going to leave for the night and not even say anything to him.

"Scott I'm sorry too I know I've been difficult to you too and I want to be with you too," Jean said with a tremble in her voice. "I know you think I might be seeing Logan behind your back but you have to trust me I'm not I love you and would never hurt you like that".

"I know but if you're not seeing him than what's the secret you two have been keeping," Scott asks.

"I can't tell you sorry Scott the professor swore me and Logan to secrecy I want to tell you trust me I do but-" Scott interrupted Jean "It doesn't matter I believe you when you say you love me and all I can do is trust you". They embrace and share a deep kiss. "Want to get out of here," Scott asks Jean playfully.

"What about Ororo I'm her ride," Jean says. They both look over to Ororo and see her leaving with the man she's been dancing with this entire time.

"I think she found her own ride," Scott says as they both laugh and head home.
