Spider-Verse: Creeping Hunger

In a wild twist of fate, I, a random person from another universe, find myself transmigrated into the body of Peter Parker from Gwen Stacy's universe, Earth 65B. But there's a catch - this version of Peter Parker was destined to die, paving the way for Gwen Stacy, the Ghost Spider to fall in love with Miles Morales. Well, let me tell you, I'm not going down without a fight! First things first, death is not on my to-do list. Nope, not happening. Secondly, did I mention I refuse to die? Yeah, it's a firm no from me. Thirdly, you guessed it, I absolutely refuse to meet my untimely demise. P.S: Just to make things interesting, I am gonna put some dirt in everyone's eyes!! ~ I will be posting on RR as well.

Natasha Romanoff

After the end of classes, I directly headed to the staff room where Natasha had called me. During this entire time, no one bullied me or even bothered to speak with me... no spitballs flew in the air to smash into me.

It was a good change of pace. With a satisfied smile, I opened the door to the staff room. All the teachers instantly, tilted their heads to look at the new person.

It made me remember why I hate coming to staff rooms. For teachers, the staff room is the ultimate gossip room... and a room of mysteries.

It is similar to the boys' school washroom and locker room yet vastly different. The former is basically a black market, gym, arena... all in one while the latter... we don't speak about it.

Nevertheless, poor Parker had been bullied in either room. The fatfuck's favorite thing to do was dip the head in a toilet and then stuff the victim in a locker.

"Uhmmm... I am looking for Ms.Romanoff. She asked me to come down here."

As if noticing that it is Peter Parker, the smiles on their faces eased as they even invited him to a cup of coffee. It seems that the previous Peter did an excellent job in being the teacher's pet. I do not understand why they never helped him... or if they were just not aware of it.

Teachers are rather devious at times.

Miss Choi, my math teacher guided me kindly.

"Go to the last aisle and take a left. It's where Ms.Natasha's designated desk is."

Nodding at her with a smile, I followed her instructions, and not sooner, I saw Miss Natasha, she was sitting quietly at her desk while correcting student papers.

While she checked a student's paper, she spoke... not tilting her head to look at me.

"So you are finally here Mr.Parker."

I gulped my saliva as I looked at her. She was beautiful needless to say. Her dark red hair fell over her nape. She wore formal trousers and a shirt that emasculated her athletic curvy figure.

It reminded me of the time I slapped her ass and had a good squeeze of it, feeling it hard. Soft, supple, and meaty... it was very good... and at the moment, I could not help but think about it when I saw her.

She raised an eyebrow and asked rhetorically.

"Are you done staring?" Noticing that she spoke, I nodded.

"Yes." I was done staring. I have always been frank and straightforward to questions like this. It's a habit from my past life.

A little stumped at my daring answer, she continued.

"There is a reason why I called you here, Mr Parker."

A sigh escaped my mouth. "I am deeply sorry for being late to your class ma'am. I won't repeat it."

The black widow raised an eyebrow.

"Don't make promises that you can't keep."

A frown crept onto my face. "But ma'am, this is the first time I was late... ever in my life-"

Before I could continue, she spoke in between.

"Peter Benjamin Parker. Look around you."

Huh? Staring at the woman confused, I followed her statement. Turning around, my eyes widened. It was deathly silent.

No sound from the teacher that is a neat freak, no sound from the teacher that messes up her table, no sound from the teacher that keeps munching on food, no sound from the teacher who catches up on night sleep in the daytime.

No sound of the coffeemaker, no sound of the printing machine, or the loud gossip about the students or the teachers in the air.

Like I said... It was deathly silent.

I walked away from where Natasha was and looked around. Most of the teachers had fallen on the ground.

Quickly, I grabbed Miss Choi and checked her pulse. She was a teacher that showed me respect and goodwill, I did not want her to die.

"Don't worry Parker, they are all alive... just unconscious... sleeping."

I turned around, unlike before, Natasha was not dressed in her teacher's formal outfit but in a skin-tight black suit that showed off her curvy body.

Looking at her, I felt at a loss for words.

"What... do you want?"

Creeping closer to me, she lifted my chin up. I could feel her hot breath in my ears.

"It is easy. Shield wants you to join as a researcher for a particular secret project."

My eyes widened in realization. Is this why she infiltrated the school? Just for me? Natasha did not stop there as she continued.

"-and...to find Spider-Woman to recruit her as well."

So it was not just me. Gwen is the true reason. A frown crept onto my place.

"You believe Spider-Woman is in this school?"

Natasha did not reply, she stood up. Her hips swayed lightly as she went ahead and took a seat. Taking an apple from a nearby teacher's desk, she crunched into it.

"We have enough evidence to believe so..."

Her gaze then pierced right into me.

"Aren't you a big fan of her?"

On the surface, I did not show much of an expression but inwardly I was in a turmoil.

"How do you know?"

She released a chuckle as she bit into the apple. Savoring the apple, she pointed it at me as she spoke.

"Do you know what Shield is?"

I shook my head to deny it. Taking a bite, she spoke while eating.

"Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division aka S.H.I.E.L.D., an extra-governmental counter-terrorism and intelligence agency tasked with maintaining both national and global security."

She paused to look at my reaction which I made sure to be of awe... which it actually was because I was hearing the words from a main character herself.

"It's main purpose? Protection. To protect one man against himself to aliens threatening to invade the planet. It's a broad job description."

I nodded, and a look of fake realization smirched onto me like an oil painting. A smirk formed on her otherwise strict face, totally unlike her previous persona as a cold teacher.

"As for how we know... you had many pictures of Spider-Woman. We research our researchers well. Peter Parker, the genius that one-handedly made substantial progress in Dr.Connors Cross-Species project... turned out to be a fucking perv."

My lips could not help but twitch. How do I even deny what is true? However, I had to keep an act.

"You HACKED ME??!"

She winked.

"Only the surface level."

Hmm. I deleted the pictures today yet they know about it. This means, they have been researching me for a while. They should not know about the rat video or experiment.

If they did, the current encounter would not be like how it is right now. It would be far different. I need to be careful... extremely careful.

Looking back at the woman, I spoke calmly.

"Yet here you are, seducing a minor. Shield does not really seem like a protection agency to me."

An estranged smile crept onto her face. She nodded. "Heh, Parker. You will fit right into Shield."

This time I raised an eyebrow. "Why would you even think that I would join you?"

She glanced at me deeply and raised her hand to show a finger.

"Your genius is widely known. Fame is not your friend but an enemy, especially in the research world. Peter Parker, you have no idea about the threats in this world and the ones that aspire to be one. They will stop at nothing to gain power and to them, you will be one of the slaves that will help them reach their goal."

I frowned as I spoke. "What is the difference between you and them? In the end, I will be a slave whether it is Shield or a different company. Are you not doing the same thing?"

Walking closer to me, she took another bite.

"Indeed. It is the same thing but at the very least we won't abduct you to Afghanistan and have you work for the rest of your lives."

Yeah... that does seem rather legit. After all, Tony Stark had been abducted into Afghanistan even in this world after he created the new Jericho missile.

"Plus, it is just temporary. You won't be a full-time employee and will be called for certain secret projects to research. You can have a normal job and life along with lifetime protection and benefits from the government and of course, Shield itself."

It does sound rather tempting. I get to have a normal life, the job I choose after I graduate while having Shield as a side job, not even a complete part of it along with government benefits... and the best thing- access to secret projects.

Shield will not even know that they have a spy in their own ranks. Who is the spy? Me of course. As a transmigrator, the only faction that I am loyal to is my own.

Suddenly I heard a teasing voice breaking me out of my daze.

"Maybe one day, you could get to meet your precious Spider-Woman... And that too without the mask."

At this comment, I could only chuckle and laugh evilly in my head at its irony.

"Miss Natasha, could you give me some time to think of it?"

She waved at me with a smile that was slowly returning back to the cold and expressionless persona due to the groans of the people behind us that were starting to wake.

"Sure. You have three days."

I pondered for a moment before asking.

"Before my answer, I would also like to know the name of the secret project."

As my question reverberated, she looked at me with a deep gaze.

"Well, a secret would not be a secret if it is revealed right? However, since you are my student, I will educate you a little."

She paused and looked over at my face to see my reaction which was just a deadpan expression. A little disappointed, she spoke.

"The name of the project is- Radioactive Spider Isotopes."
