Spell for the Haunted

When in an enchantment and you realize so early on, if not too late, pour a full cap or a bottle of salt blessed by an Afrodite priest into your open mouth. Dip your head in blessed water for a minute. Nothing in mind but a firm resolution to put the witch to shame; if they know shame of any sort. Raising your head from the water, like an incantation, you chant: ''No divination, no enchantment against Jacob shall come to pass." Dip your bloody head one more time in water and the enchantment resolve will weaken and slowly disappear. It is not a cinch to realize such. But if you realize, if you happen upon an enchantment, a divination upon your head and your canines formally white or yellow are blackening in an intense charcoal shading, your eyes are bloodshot red. Then it's properly too late. Advice: find a loaded gun to blow open your fucking skull or a sharp point of any object and smash your head against it over and over again until you can't fucking move. Whichever nice suicide plan you want to take a run at, do it. If you don't, then you probably don't love yourself. Travis has a predicament. He's been enchanted and its ever late as never.

Perceived Conceptions

It is written that angels are higher beings only seen by the holiest of persons. It is written.

It is written that angels are superior deities created by a supreme being and are assigned to earth, looking down upon us tiny ants in all our vileness. In all our hissing and unmusical dialect. it is written.

It is written that angels are beautiful creatures that when one beholds, blindness is sure. Their beauty is so far incomparable to anything that man can think of. So, when one beholds such species, their eyes can't describe what they saw. Their eyes; this epiphany, they don't understand. So they regress spontaneously, ultimately going blind.

Angels are direct creations of God, each one a unique master's piece.

It is written that sinners can't stand in the presence of an angel. It's an unholy crime, they are likely to burn, the wind carrying their dispersed ashes. These was surely written.

Travis doesn't know how true those holographics are; it may actually be a whole bloody lie written by ancient old men with pipes for oxygen, because right now, at this very place he was standing, he was looking directly at one– An angel. He was yet to go blind from her beauty. He was yet to burn to crisps.

Travis stared directly at this woman trying to gauge where she fits in his whole situation. She was pretty; that was actually the biggest understatement of the century. Another word, no words should be formed in order to place her where she belongs. Angels don't really got a thing on her.

As she sat on her windowstill, eyes gazing towards the clouds, lips upturned in a frown, Travis gazed. Like a creep he has become at that particular moment, his eyes never left her face. Taking in all her features. The edges to her face was a like a new addictive drug; the kind that no therapy, no psychiatric hospital could quench that urge to keep coming back for just a sight. He sounded like an old pervert, deprived from the touch of women for a long time– but he knew, oh he knew, that a hundred women could surround him this moment, all naked and his eyes won't budge from that window. She just had this softness on her face right now, it was endearingly. Fuck, she was staring back.

Jovic found herself staring at velvet red eyes, eyes that were already upon her. His gaze was pure man: lazy arrogance and lustful.

His eyes; who could do wrong to such handsome features. It might have been her and she felt a little sad knowing that. She doesn't remember when she did it, when she said the words, the spells. She doesn't enchant handsome men like him. It was part of her rule. They may turn around and enchant her. And his rosy lips and bedroom eyes could trap, causing untold damage. The enchantress becoming enchanted– that was ironic in so many ways.

''Hi," the man greeted. His voice like metal clanging in rhythm against one another. Deep and sharp. Waving his hands a little, interrupting her thoughts, he gave her his most charming smile when he saw he has gotten her full attention. ''I think I am lost, have you seen a house built with all kinds of candy and sweets?"

Jovic eyebrows wrinkled. "What?"

"You know, Hansel and Gretel?"

Jovic shook her head, her eyebrows wrinkling further.

"You know the movie?" he continued in good humor, "those two kids that went into a house built with all kinds of sweets and got trapped by a witch."

Jovic snickered, her nose shaking in disappointment. Hate comments like that has no place in her house, she may have no problems with him after all. ''Walk towards your right, you will see the front door, come right inside. I will point you in the right direction."

Travis smiled, she was pretty and decent to talk to, maybe easy, things were not going his way right now but here is a chance to talk to the lady of his dreams. He walked towards the direction she said and opened the massive, thick black door. On taking a step inside, he realized that he may have just walked in all majesty into a house of horror.

****

Horror; that intense fear, abhorrence. Like a scene in a horror movie– a human, usually a girl, is walking through a deserted street, all happy and all giddy from whatever fools experience that has just happened with her. Bouncing along the street, humming and then suddenly, she hears a crunching sound. Stepping back and concentrating hard on the floor to see what was crushed by her shoes, her eyes turning wide on seeing it. A human body usually a female, with worms slugging in and out of the hollowed eye socket, ants feasting on the warm greasy flesh. Buzzing flies everywhere buzzing to the world to come and witness.

A high-pitched pressurized girly scream emanates from deep within the girl's throat. Her shoes has just crushed dead brittle fingers.

The girl is screaming now. Screaming her eyes out, too scared to walk over it. And near her, camouflaged by the bushes is a man with an unwavering smile and unmatched skittering eye contact. He is filled with joy. He reaches for his pickle. Another has come.

Travis opened the door, stepping inside. The inside decoration was amazing. Different renaissance arts toning well with the modern-day furnishings. The lounge with its high ceiling having a warm tone in it with accents of black and gold from the decor.

It was not the ambiance of the house or the grandiosity, that provoked the immediate galloping of his heart, it was the men. They were three in total, looking nowhere else but at him. The little creaking the door has made was the cause of all their attention on him as they glared at him like hyenas being disturbed when ravaging a meal, their eyes all gleaming red like rubies.

''Why are you there?" the woman asked. "Come on in, let me introduce you," she announced with an excitement that has not been for years, from the upstairs balcony that overlooked the entire living room.

He legs buckled as it went down three steps, carrying him as far as to the large lounge. The realization that she was the witch couldn't have hit him any sooner. He was literally standing at the threshold of his captor as with these other men. If he was suprised, he needn't voice it, it was written all over his face. Three men including him were under invisible chains by a little thing. Now, this was the most absurd event to ever occur.

''Now..." the woman said, "My name is Jovic. Jovic Arcada." She walked down winding long stairs. "This is Buck." She gestured to the lean man to her right as she reached the end of the stairs without showing signs of breathlessness.

Buck grunted.

Travis couldn't help but look at her. This close up, she was more beautiful. Black locs framed her face and as she talked, her tongue leapt out and his eyes captured those seconds. She turned and smiled dryily and he looked away, knowing she had sensed him watching. Subconsciously, he berated himself.

"There is Cobly and Elvish."

Elivish grinned silly, showcasing his goofy teeth.

Travis listened to her call out their names as if she was calling out designers handbags she owned in her wardrobe. His blood boiled. Finding a straw of composure and boldness in the storm of his racing heart, he stepped closer to her. Bent down a little, and his cold angry breath was right in her face. "So you did this to me...? To this men? Why! Why?"

She looked at him.

"Undo it."

There was silence.

"Undo it!"

Jovic shook her head amused.

Travis eyes brimmed. "Who knew women like you could be wolves in sheep clothing."

Jovic lips stretched, she turned her strong gaze fully towards him. "There is no me or men here, Only toys. You guys collective name is toys."

"My name is Travis! Travis! And you should free me cause God help me, I'll break every bones in your body!"

"Ok Travis, threats doesn't really suit you. It looks more like you're begging. How do you like here?"

"I don't ever!" Travis screamed. Gesturing with his hands in a clockwise motion, ''Death is better than this."

A vein ticked on Jovic forehead and her voice came out vindictive, ''Really?"

''Really," Travis shouted against her face.

Jovic stepped back, two steps at time then three more steps backwards. ''You will have to adjust those expectations. Cobly, show him to his room." With that said, she began strutting back upstairs.

''Which one miss? One of the newly refurbished one's or the bad ones?''

''The bad ones," she said. Turning towards them, she looked at Travis bitter expression and said, "the bad ones will do for now."

"And Elvish."

"Yes miss."

"Come to my room." A loud bang echoed around the house.

***

"Elvish."

"Yea."

"How do you like here?"

"Very much. Is like am living my best dreams here."

"Huh."

"Oh yea," Elvish crooked laughter rung out.
