Fight [ 3 ]

The first thing the goblin did after coming into being was grasp at its neck, opening its maw as it desperately tried to breathe. But it couldn't. The purse was jammed into its naval cavity and throat, instantly suffocating it. Blood seeped from its eyes as it desperately clawed at its neck.

However that was the least of its worries. Following the momentum of the purse, the goblin collided with the other, stunning it. On the other hand, the one hit was sent staggering back.

It was left standing on one leg trying to keep its balance, but Sia didn't let this happen. Imitating the throwers of her teammate, she started swinging her purse, with the still attached goblin, in a circular motion around her body.

'C'mon Sia swing. Swing! Don't you DARE let go…'

She met the pace of the rotation, putting her whole body into the swing. Generating a terrifying force from the mimicked hammer throw techniques, Sia was ready to strike.

'Now!'

Contrary to expectations, the purple skinned monster was not launched into the stratosphere. Instead, Sia spun 3 or 4 times, building up that momentum before finally hurling it at the unbalanced goblin.

Hues of crimson and indigo streaked through the air, crashing into the unprepared little monstrosity. They were sent tumbling another 10 or so feet away from Sia and the others. The scent of blood filled the air as bits and pieces of the goblins splattered everywhere.

Sia stumbled from the sheer force of her swing but she was able to catch herself from falling.

"Good," Sia let out a relieved sigh, having averted the immediate crisis before her.

In the next instance she proceeded to rush to the goblins. She wanted to finish them off before going to help the others.

Furthermore, she needed to retrieve her weapon, the somewhat effective goblin infused purse. No matter what, she had to go to them, even if she was a bit winded.

On the other side, Kai was too preoccupied by the pair of goblins attacking Sammi to notice what Sia had done. Even so, he knew how capable she was. Having seen the goblins' physical abilities, they would not pose a threat to her.

All he had to do now was to ensure Sammi's safety.

The two goblins suffered a momentary stunned state as they crashed into the ground. Kai, much like Sia, didn't waste his advantage and stabilized himself. Half knelt, he used a great deal of strength to stab down at the vulnerable stomach of one of the goblins.

Using the metallic tip of the stand to try and pierce through the tough exterior that was its skin, Kai went for the kill. Still it wasn't able to penetrate the rigid hide, however some bruising could be seen. The goblin had sustained some internal injuries.

Taking note of this, Kai used the makeshift baton to get himself up to stand. In the process, he used his weight to forcefully impale the pinned goblin.

It struggled, grabbing the shaft of the stand, intending on breaking it. But it could not even muster up the strength to grip it as the searing pain overwhelmed it. Kai was determined to finish it off. After a few seconds of vainly flailing its limbs in its last attempts to escape with its life, the goblin finally went limp.

"Uegh…"

As Kai heard it exhale its last breath, a shiver ran down his spine, losing his focus for a moment. This was the first time Kai had experienced this.

He had taken a life.

Maybe it was because it was desperately struggling, fighting for its own survival, Or maybe it was the fact that it somewhat resembled a human. He now knew what it was like to take a life. A life from something that he could empathize with.

That vivid image of its eyes, growing dark as the light of life dispersed into nothingness, was ingrained into his mind. He was dazed for a moment. Using this momentary lapse in judgment, the other goblin, who had regained its barings, lunged towards him with ferocity.

Eyes gleaming with feral violence, it snarled as it plunged straight at Kai's unguarded side. Kai felt the deadly gaze on him and tried to duck out of the way. But alas, it was too late, that split second cost him dearly.

He couldn't dodge the attack in its entirety. The purple claws pierced through his hoodie sleeve, grazing his left forearm, numbing it.

'That's probably the poison.'

Kai was right, the goblin's claws were poisonous.

After confirming his suspicion he moved like lightning, grabbing the purple monster's neck before it had the time to turn to face him. He quickly pinned the goblin to the ground, knowing he didn't have much Time Remaining until the poison spread throughout his body.

"Ugggh…"

His left hand was growing weak by the second. Blood leaked from his wounds. And so, gripping the stand with his right, he exerted all the strength he could muster and bashed its head in.

Swing!

Smash!

But the goblin wouldn't just let this happen to it. It retaliated, grabbing Kai's left arm, piercing it with its claws and injecting him with poison. It was a plot to not only intensify the poisons effect but also hasten its spread.

Pierce!

Splurt!

Still Kai didn't relent, he kept up the pressure and continued his vicious attacks. His arm was rapidly weakening while being crushed by the goblin's strength. And so a tedious battle erupted between them. They both struggled. Eventually one would give out.

Swing!

Smash!

Pierce!

Splurt!

Swing!

Smash!

Pierce!

Splurt!

Swing!

Smash!

Pierce!

Splurt!

Swing!

Smash!

Pierce!

Splurt!

Swing!

Crack!

Swing!

Smash!

It was a short but intense fight, but ultimately Kai came out on top.

The limp lifeless corpse of the purple goblin, dyed in red, collapsed onto the floor, as Kai staggered backwards. He couldn't feel his arm, his vision blurred. Everything around him had become blobs of ever changing colors.
