Chapter 38- BROODING RAYMOND; WELCOME TO MODERN WORLD

While the screams of the witches resounded higher and deeper in the dark night, Raymond was standing face to face with an old woman, clenching the basket containing the two babies tightly with both hands and the dagger between his teeth.

The fresh cuts on his face showed evidence of the battle he had fought to reach the portal. Not speaking to the old woman, he stepped back with a frown on his face.

A huge bird came flying out of the portal as it closed, carrying someone unconscious on its back.

"Welcome. I have been sent to receive you all." The old woman broke the silence as Raymond looked like he would be using his dagger anytime soon. He raised his head as a hand landed gently on his shoulders.

"It's okay, she's a messenger." Owen reassured, flipping the unconscious body she was carrying over her shoulder.

"Please, do not stand on courtesy." The woman continued, signalling for them to follow her as she led them to her car.
