Chapter One

Normal POV

     It was an early day in Mobius, and a certain blue hedgehog was enjoying it with a run through the forest.

     "Ah. Nothing beats a nice run in the morning," said the famous Sonic the Hedgehog. "Hello faker," said Shadow the Hedgehog as he walked calmly to Sonic. "Great, just what I needed," Sonic mumbled. "Don't worry I didn't come to fight. In fact I've come to stop fighting," Shadow said.

Sonic POV

     'Wait, what? He must be joking,' I thought. If this is him trying to get in my head I won't let him this time.

     "I promise I'm not trying to toy with you this time," he said. "How do I know that this is the truth?" I asked. "I swear, it is the truth," Shadow admitted. "But why do you want to stop? I thought you loved fighting with me?" I asked. " Because I really want to change how I am," he said proudly. "Pfft. Change? I highly doubt that Shadow," Sonic said.

Shadow POV

     What he said made me break down inside, but after a minute I calmed down. "Well, why don't you think I can change?" I asked. "Your the Ultimate Lifeform, you're my rival, and the most powerful thing in the world?" Sonic said. "That doesn't mean I can't change," I proclaimed. "Well even if you do change, we'll always be rivals," he said with a serious tone. "Well, if that's what it takes to stay friends-- ," Shadow then covered his mouth. "What was that?" he asked. "Nothing! Well, gotta go bye," Shadow then dashed away.

     "Whatever," Sonic said and started walking to the city.

Normal POV

     After their brief talk, Sonic went out of the forest and started heading towards his favorite restaurant, Lillie's. Meanwhile, the dark hedgehog was still in the forest.

Sonic POV

     On my way to Lillie's, I was lost in thought. 'Did he say friends?' When I replayed it in my mind again, I started having a feeling in my stomach. When I noticed, I could feel my face getting hot. 'Uh oh' I thought as I started to run, but didn't notice that Silver the Hedgehog and Espio the chameleon were right in front of me until we all crashed into each other. "Ow. Man what happened?" the hedgehog asked. "Oh! Silver! Sorry about that, I got lost in thought," Sonic apologized. "It's all good, don't worry," Silver said. "What were you thinking about?" he asked. "Oh- um nothing," I blushed. "Okay then, well, we're going to the park, see ya!" Silver said. "Bye!" Espio shouted to me. "Bye" I shouted back.

Time Skip

     I had just gotten to Lillie's and saw Mephiles talking with my Aunt Bernadette. "Hi Aunt Bernie!" she looked over and saw me. "Hey kiddo! Hows my little nephew doing?" she joked. "Good. How long have you two been together? he giggled. They both blush tomato red. "Well no one knows yet so try to keep it secret, please," she asked. "Sure, no problem," I said.

Shadow POV

     I was just getting home after dashing away from Sonic. Dammit, I couldn't believe that I broke in front of him. I was wanting to tell him my true feelings. Ever since we met I had, I had a small crush, but then it had grown the longer we had known each other. "I just wish I could tell him," I said as I opened my door. "Tell who what?" I froze as I heard someone behind me. 

     "Who are you?," I said all defensive. "Whoa, whoa I mean no harm," she said. "What's your name," I asked. "Oh, my name's Sky," she said proudly. "The fox from the Mobius Cafe?" I asked. "That's me," she winked. "Well what do you want?" I asked. "Oh, I wanted to ask if i can come in? I thought you were home so I was gonna knock but then you showed up," she said. "Really?" I questioned. "Alright, your sister Rouge wanted me to check on you for her," she said. "Why?" I asked. "Because she's worried about you. She doesn't see you much any more," Sky said. "Tell her that I'm coming by her place tomorrow and that I need to talk," I said. "Alrighty then, I'll give that to her," she said. I then just nodded and watched her head back.

Sonic POV

     I was just getting through talking with Mephiles cause Aunt Bernie went to go get me a snack. "Well, I'm glad that you have been better now. How's Scourge doing lately?" I asked. "He's been better but still doing his old habits," he said. "Well, he'll get over them soon enough. Anyways, see you guys later! Thanks for the food and the chat!" I said. "Bye!" they said.

     Once I left, it didn't take me long before I got to mine and Tails' house. I walked inside to find Tails nowhere in the house. 'Must be in the lab,' I thought. I set the food I got on the counter and headed out to the lab to find Tails. "Hey Sonic!" Tails said as I saw him over at the Tornado. "Hey little bro!" I said to him as he ran over and hugged me. "How 'bout you come in and eat. I went and got us Lillie's," I said. "Okay," he said.                                                                                                           

Normal POV

     But before they could eat, Rouge burst through the door. "Sonic! Tails! Eggman's attacking!"
