Yorount

In Freedom, necromancer is considered as one of the trash among the numerous battle classes. It is not trash because it is hard but it's trash because of how unrewarding this class is.

Its close relative class, Dark mage, outclasses it in every way. Dark mages can cast different curses, summon golems, and outright offensive spells are way better than necromancers.

Necromancers however, has some advantages like whatever they kill won't disappear into particles for a period of time and the all rounder capabilities.

From the first release of Freedom, countless people chooses necromancer as their class. Dreaming of dominating enemies with a sea of skeletons.

Well they're not wrong, in theory, a single necromancer can amassed huge amount of skeletons as long as their Dominion stat is also high.

But when they found out that skeletons looked so ugly and disgusting, not many people the sight of it, only dedicated players remained.

Even then, the skeleton they raised was only temporary and the combat AI is so horrendously bad that any monster with low intelligence can defeat it in seconds.

The only known way of getting a skeleton permanently is through contracts or summoning the undead with a corpse of the same quality. This causes a shortage of skeletons in the game since there's only few good undead outside of thrashy skeletons.

Instead of ranking necromancers who's level is the highest, it's a ranking who's got the most rare undead. This makes the necromancer class unique among battle classes.

That's why when a rumor of a Death Knight rampaging at Cornia Beginner's Forest are spread, countless necromancers rushed immediately, in hopes of contracting a Death Knight.

One of them is Yorount, the no.13 in Necromancer Class Ranking. Yorount is one of the veterans in the game, playing since it's release therefore he had many rare undead in his arsenal.

"It's already contracted..." Yorount muttered.

Currently, he's at the outer part of the forest. Looking at the straight line of destruction he immediately analyzed the rumor.

A monster won't just rampage in a straight line even if they are provoked. It is safe to say that someone ordered it to happen.

"It is just so strange, the command is so simple. Could it be a newbie necromancer..."

He shook his head, eliminating the thought of a death knight falling in the hands of a noob.

Death Knight can be said to be the pinnacle of skeleton warriors. They were masters when they're alive, there's no way they would fall in a simple deception.

Yorount walked for a while, snooping everything he finds useful.

Going further deep in the forest, the black aura in the air were becoming more dense the more he went inside.

The air is becoming more and more dark and polluted that he can't see properly and the stenchy smell ferments through everywhere.

"Cough! cough! Fuck i should've prepared in this situation Cough!"

A series of notification blocked Yorount's view, he turned to the other direction to run but his feet suddenly felt heavy.

Multiple dark spots and holes from the mist attaches to him rapidly.

In seconds, his body collapses to the ground. He can't do anything but watch as his body destroys itself from the inside.

[The unknown energy successfully eroded your body]

[The unknown energy successfully merged with mana]

[A new resource 'Death Energy' has been opened]

Yorount who just revived at Cornia plaza was immediately stunned, he thought he just died normally and now he's rewarded?

He quickly checked what this new resource can offer, completely disregarding the dropped weapon.

-----------------------

"Hiss..."

Yorount sucked a cold air, completely in shock.

Buff type skills are the most scarce in necromancer class, even at the high levels, there's to few of it available.

"That black mist, if I get more... I can increase my combat power!"

Yorount made up his mind. He summoned his undead mount and rushes at the forest.

-----------------

"Oh, another one!"

Lakon casually picked up a staff on the ground, stuffing it into his inventory.

Inside of his inventory, there's random items he collected on his way back. Many of which are mage items like staffs and robes.

Accompanied by Una, who refreshed it's level recently, Lakon exited the deep forest safely.

As he walks at the beginner's hunting forest, death knight attracted the attention of the players. Some are amazed and some are envious.

Necromancers who travelled from far away gritted their teeths, that man is obviously flaunting his undead, they felt being mocked by some unknown guy.

Father's raid party saw Lakon too, many of them withdrawn immediately. According to the rumour, the death knight is last seen on the deep forest, if that man controls the death knight, then he most likely killed the devil puff too. Making their raid pointless.

Even outside of battle, the oppressive aura emitted by Una are so strong that no one dares to approach him.

After Lakon left, the crowd whose silent for a while became lively again.

"Kyle, you're a necromancer too right? Who is that man?"

"I don't know him, but his face is quite familiar..."

"Oh yeah! I've seen that face in a poster earlier now that you mentioned it"

...

"That would be a total of 10,835 gold!"

Slam!

"Are you kidding me? There's more than 30 epic items here and you're saying it's only 10k gold?"

"10,835"

"I don't care! Just give me the right amount before I beat the shit out of you!"

Lakon grabbed the merchant's collar as he looks at him with burning eyes.

"Look here man, the items you given lacks most durability and about to break, they also looks stolen from someone else. What if the owner recognises it? Will you pay me for my losses? I'm just playing safe here man!"

"Besides, you think I don't recognise you? You're the latest wanted man in this city! You didn't even bother to cover your face, yet you dare to beat me up?.

The merchant retorted in return. Dusting himself in the process.

Lakon on the other hand can't do anything, he may have some power now but Crimson Pincers controls this city long before.

"Tsk! Then give me the gold!"

Lakon reluctantly takes the gold from the merchant. In his anger, he logged out immediately.
