Time flew very quickly for Arvin. Training and completing the daily tasks given by Dobby, Arvin did not realize when 4 months flew by. For him, it was just yesterday that he came to this world and met Josh. In a blink of an eye, the time flew by. And finally, the time came when he no longer needed to stay with Josh.
According to the second quest given to Arvin by Dobby, he had to follow the daily tasks for 4 months. If he can complete the tasks daily for 4 months he would be rewarded a mysterious skill by Dobby. He didn't know what that skill was? But he was excited by the fact that he would gain a superpower tomorrow.
For 4 months straight, Arvin trained his body to the limits. And with time to time spars with Josh, he was able to raise his level from 0 to 20. He didn't know how it was compared to the outside world, but he knew he had become way stronger than he was when he came to this world.
In these 4 months, Arvin himself was surprised by the progress that he made. He didn't know a lot about sports and all, but he knew that his progress was freaky if compared to Earth. He didn't know whether this was normal if compared to the standards of Yggdrasil. And he didn't want to ask Josh about it because it could be suspicious. So he kept quiet. And after some time, he started holding his power while sparing with Josh, so that his secret could remain.
And like this, the 4 months passed by. Today was the last of this 4-month training session. And tomorrow Arvin will leave Bonie village. He has not decided what he will do next. A little part inside of him doesn't leave at all. After all, this was a great place to live. It was a small village, where people were very kind. He had made some friends here. This village had become his comfort zone.
But he knew that he had to shove this feeling deep inside of him and move on. He had already said his goodbyes to all the people of the village and tomorrow morning he will leave the village and go to any of the cities on the 1st floor, except Arcane city. He had no idea whether Alman and his goons would be able to recognize him or not. But it was not something that he could leave to luck.
As to go to the city was getting to know the world better. There were so many things that he didn't know or understand about this world. He wanted to gather all the information that he would need to survive in this world. And that information could only be found in the city. At least what he thought.
At night when Arvin was lying on the bed, thinking about the next steps that he would take, he heard a message chime from Dobby…
[Host has completed the second quest given out by the system.]
[Congratulations on the completion of the quest.]
[Host has been awarded the skill-ShapeShifting from Lopt]
Arvin saw the message and got excited. He didn't know shape-shifting skill or how it was used. But he was surely excited by the fact that now he had a superpower. Then he got up from the bed. He wanted to try out his new skill. But first, he thought that he should get information about this skill…
'Hey Dobby, tell me about this skill. How is it used? What does it do?' Arvin asked excitedly. Hearing his question, Dobby displayed a blue color message in front of Arvin's eyes…
[Name- Shape Shifting
Description- An innate skill made by God Lopt. It is a skill that can help the host to transform or change his human body anatomy to that of a creature of his choice. In simple words, this skill could be used by the host to transform into an animal or human of his choice.
If a host uses this skill to change himself into an animal then, he could stay in his transformed form for 1 hour. If the host wants to transform into a human then he could do so for about 4 and a half hours.
The power of the skill is dependent on the level that the host possesses and the proficiency of the skill that host poses. As the level of the host rises the power of the skill will also increase.]
Arvin looked at the description of the skill and read it over and over again. He wanted to understand what this skill is all about and he wanted to learn its limitations and strengths. Still, after reading about the description of the skill, Arvin had many questions regarding the skill…
'Dobby, with this skill I can transform into any animal?'
[Yes.]
'So which animals can I transform into right now?'
[Due to the host's low level, the Host can only transform into one animal right now.]
[Host also needs to understand that because of the host's level, you could only transform into an animal that had half of your body mass.]
'Is that so?'
[Yes.]
'Then the red color bird that I saw when I came to this world. That is off-limits?'
[Yes.]
'Ok. I get it. So what do I need to transform into an animal?'
[Host will need the body of the animal in question.]
'A body? That's f**ked up. Where the hell am I supposed to get a body?.'
[….]
'Ok. Tell me about human transformation. Do I need a body in that case too?'
[No. The host can transform into a human of any age, sex, and weight. If the host wants to mimic someone then the host needs to have a clear picture of that person's face in the host's mind.]
'That's it? If I know someone's face then I will be able to mimic him?'
[Yes. But the host has to understand, due to the host's low level and low proficiency of the skill, the mimic may not be able to fool people with higher levels than the host.]
'What? That sucks. Is there any way from which I can fool them?'
[Host just needs to increase his level and proficiency of skill.]
'How do I increase the proficiency of skill?'
[Host could increase proficiency by using the skill repeatedly. The more you use the skill, the more proficient you will get in the skill.]
'Hmm… It seems like I have to rapidly increase my level.'
[.....]
'Dobby one more thing. I can choose any animal that I want to shapeshift but the condition is that the animal should be either of my body mass or less than my body mass. Correct?'
[Yes.]
'So if I am supposed to transform into a rat. And after I transform back, will it harm my body somehow. I mean from what I know, mass can neither be created nor be destroyed. But through this skill, I am disobeying a very sacred law of physics. Will this have any repercussions?'
[No. Host has to understand that the laws of physics could be bent in Yggdrasil.]
[I can reassure the host that this skill will not have any dangerous repercussions.]
'What do you mean any dangerous repercussions? Do you mean to say that there will be repercussions but not dangerous one?'
[Host might feel drowsy or nauseous when the host transforms back from animal to human form.]
'This information is crucial. You should have mentioned it before.'
[…..]
'Forget it. My next question, will I need a fresh body to use transformation? Or I could work with a decayed body too?'
[Host just needs the DNA of the animal in question. Host does need to have the body of an animal.]
'But you said that I will need a body. You could have said so earlier that I just need DNA.'
[My mistake host.]
'You are a worthless piece of A.I… do you know that?'
[...….]
'Another question. Will people with a higher level be able to see through my animal transformation?'
[No. In the animal transformation, only people from upper floors will be able to see through your transformation.]
'That's a good thing to know.' Arvin commented.
After asking all these questions about the new skill Arvin had got from Dobby, he lied down on his bed again. He wanted to try to use the skill, very badly. But he refrained from doing so. He knew that no one would spy on him here. But he was not willing to take any chances. He would rather use this transformation skill in a desolate place than try it in here.
Arvin was trying to complete the 3rd quest given by Dobby with flying colors. He was interested in Ice magic that he would acquire if he can make a name for himself, by showing anyone his face. It was a very difficult task. So the reward for this task should be equally great. Right?
