The warmth of hugging friendly wolves

As I arrived back at home, I found out that I was still in my room. "Good, it means that only about a couple dozen minutes or more had passed." I thought to myself as I began to pretend that I was sleeping.

And I did a darn good job at pretending, 'cause I fell asleep! I know that because I found myself in the living room again. I was on the sofa, sitting in front of the tv, watching whatever I was.

Who brought me downstairs? I tilt my head to the left and found my mother eating some cucumber? I think that is a cucumber. But I can't really tell if it is a cucumber.

No, no. I think that's an eggplant. Why is she swallowing it back and forth, lol, I don't have anything to do with it. The best choice is to ignore all weirdness that I see, hear, or otherwise experience.

"Hahhh… Today, I cleared a dungeon, and in the future, many other times. I think I'm uncomfortable with the feeling now that I got used to living a life of peace." I thought to myself.

"Let's just continue watching whatever show is on the tv right now, shall we?" I cheered myself as I continued to watch whatever was on screen, is that a dinosaur? No, no. I think that's Gojira lol.

The actor behind that suit is ridiculous, look at how Gojira moves. Ridiculous power mouth beams, ridiculous flying gold enemy, ridiculous enough to… make my eyes… blink… slowly asleep.

"…" "…!" "A…!" "Ka…!" "Kari…!" "Akari-chan! Wake up!" My eyes fluttered open revealing my crimson pupils, framed with lavender irises. "Ugh…" I let out a soft grunt as I stood up.

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes as I took off my hood, man, was it cold as ice. "What is it, mom?" I asked out as I found out that we're in the middle of a mountain. "Akari-chan, we're here."

My mom answered shortly, well, wasn't that vague. "Alright." I replied as I walked while holding mom's hand, it was freezing! Like, it won't do anything to me, but I still feel the feeling you know?

Me, mom, and dad, soon arrived in a cottage nearby, just a couple dozen seconds away from where dad parked the car. "Mom, for how many days were we staying here for vacation again?"

I asked as we entered the door and took off our shoes in the genkan, where we put on in-shoes. "For 3 days, honey." Mom answered as I nodded, and then raced around the cottage.

I entered the living room where there were chairs and a case of books on the left, and then I went to the kitchen, a lot of sharp things like knives and such, but nothing that dangerous.

After my unclear examination of the kitchen, I left for the bathroom. There, I found a mirror on the wall, above the sink. And a toilet a few feet away, with the shower on the right. I got on a chair; I wasn't that tall yet.

And looked at the mirror. Crimson pupils, compassed within lavender irises. Platinum white hair, with some strands that of blood-like red contrasting the pure color, cascading down my shoulders.

Pale white skin with the tint of rose present. Standing at the height of toddler, I was now at the current age of 5 years old. But I still had that very innocence that made me cute.

"Man, time sure passed in the blink of an eye." I muttered to myself as I reminisced the past. Ever since the first gate I cleared, a lot of things happened all around the world.

At the first year, most portals in Tokyo had disappeared mysteriously, that's because of me, and when a dungeon does break, I will be sure to be at the scene to provide help.

But that is just in Tokyo, because I lived there, and I could get to anywhere there relatively fast. But I don't have nearly enough time to bother about any other places, I'll just stick to what I could handle.

In any other place, dungeons were erupting and such so many died, but as the second year arrived, we humans in general had adapted a bit, we learned how to take the monsters on.

Half a year after the genesis gates, I was still actively hunting and closing gates Tokyo, and since my body has developed better in that year, I took on more time to clear gates.

Since the third year after the genesis gates, I was allowed to go outside the house, and so I had some reasonable excuse to just vanish into thin air, I had taken on gates in Tokyo, and the surrounding cities.

Half a year later, I had started to learn spells that were… destructive. Spells that would cause utter catastrophic damage upon the area released, stellar magic. I had brought the spell up to 5.

And now, 4 years, I'll count it four since it's December 24, and would nearly be January 1. My fame had spread across not just Japan, but the whole entire world. It was because of very important multiple reasons.

Firstly, I was powerful, every gate in Tokyo that I would sense, I would immediately finish in a dozen minutes maximum. My power had been a driving force and prime example for people to fight against gates.

Secondly, I had a signature. At every gate I cleared, I would leave my signature of a crown with two wolves on the spot where the dungeon gate once stood. I had been known because of that.

Thirdly, my public appearance, in times like dungeon breaks and such, I was a child accompanied by two majestic looking wolves and a dragon of grand design that had horns alike that of a crown.

Such detail of my appearance as a child had struck people with awe, I mean, how could a child be able to control such beasts? It had bestowed me the title of "Child Empress".

And of course, of course, I wore a mask. A fox mask to be specific. What would I do if my parents had recognized me? I also enchanted the mask with a voice changer just in case.

I softly sighed to myself, as I got down the chair. I exited the bathroom as I was met with the living room. Dad and mom was on the couch, doing some action. AND SO, I JUST TURNED AROUND!

'Act fool. Act fool. Act fool. Act fool. Act fool. Act fool. Act fool. Act fool. Act fool…' I thought as I ran towards the bedroom as fast as I could without being suspiciously loud.

I closed the door as I viewed the room, a double bed on the right and then a single bed on the right, with a cabinet in between the two beds, assuming that the small bed is mine, I slumped on it.

I let out an irascible grunt. "The audacity to do it in the living room… fuck." I buried my face in the pillow as I summoned Shiro and Yoru in their puppy form. "Cuddle with me."

I spoke as I opened my hands wide, to which the twins happily jumped into. I hugged the two puppies as I curled up on the bed. "Ah… such warmth… It lets me forget such horrors." I muttered as I pulled the sheets up.

*Flicker*

I picked up my chopsticks as I started to wave my legs with anticipation, mom said that she made something 'nice', and I hoped it something that was 'really nice'! I put my hope on it.

"Lunch is coming!" Mom shouted from the kitchen as she brought it over. My face shined bright as I smelled the pungent fragrant, I remember its taste and smell the same!

Mom put the bowl down on the table as I shouted. "Curry!" I let out happy exclamation as Mom only chuckled at my antics. "You really do love curry to the bone huh?" Father spoke as he smiled.

"Yes." I answered. "I love mom's cooking best after all!" Dad let out a chuckle as he spoke. "Me too, kiddo." Mom sat down as she let out a brilliant smile. "Thank you, you two." She spoke.

"I'm only talking honestly, mom." I smiled as I took some curry into my portion. Lunch was spent happily with me and dad complementing mom, which makes her happy.

Good thing dad didn't ruin the atmosphere with dad jokes. "What do you call an alligator in a vest?" And there it is. Never-mind, it will never leave when we three are together.

"Investigator!" Dad, could you please stop, I sincerely plead you to stop making jokes about gators. I am not having them. Mom chuckled at it though. "You're jokes are terrible as ever, but that what makes them attractive."

Mom spoke as she leaned closer towards dad. "Alright, I'm leaving now." I picked up my plate while hearing them chuckle at me as I raced to the kitchen sink, and quickly speeding to the bedroom where Shiro and Yoru await.

Ah right, I haven't really explained on what species they are right? Well, they are of "Stellar Flare Wolf" and "Nova Storm Wolf". Shiro is an SFW, and Yoru is an NSW.

Stellar flare wolf, their powers focus on magical enhancements for speed, and star flare magic, which is a branch of magic under Stellar Magic. The magic-physical enhancement they use is called [Nova].

Under a much higher dangerously circumstances, it could possibly evolve into {Super-Nova} and increase magic-physical enhancement by over 35x! She's super strong right?

Nova star wolf, their powers focus on magical enhancement for strength, and ice-storm magic, both of which is a branch under the category of Storm magic. The physical enhancement they use is [Aster].

Again, under certain circumstances, it could possibly evolve into something larger, [Blight], and increase overall potency of enhancement to 35x! That's why she goes all battle junkie berserk!

"I don't what to do without you two…" I spoke as I hugged the two wolves while smudging my face into their fur.
