Lingering Trails Of Harbored Feelings

Having freshened myself up from the smell of heavy narcotics and the remains of the treatment prior. I finally leave my room without a sense of existential dread about the next few hours.

Stretching both of my arms, I must admit that whilst the treatment was beyond horrendous. Its effect was quite substantial, my lost arm feels as good as new. Thinking about the treatment does not bring fond memories. Especially not once I remember how I murdered the old imp woman. This city is cruel, yet still imagining how easily I fell for my bloodlust still haunts me.

Standing before a mirror, I touch my face and look at my features. Long brown curling hair and bright green emerald eyes. Both features I shared in my past life, yet the person in the mirror looks unfamiliar. I'm quite the opposite of my previous frail build, if I might say so myself I'm rather nicely muscled without looking like I'm on steroids. Besides, I look older, in my previous world they would have guessed my age to be around 24 instead of the 18 when I passed away. But that's not the only reason why I look older. Rather it looks like i've simply experienced more, seen more, the scar that I carry on my hand and the general look in my eyes a testament to that.

A servant of the state approaches me, giving a quick bow before she speaks.

"Excuse me, sir, I was requested to notify you of an unexpected visit." The speaks looking at the ground, whilst remaining in a bowed pose.

"Stand up, go ahead." I respond dryly, not looking in her direction. The servants wouldn't tremble if I looked at them, or anything like that. But I've noticed that they're more comfortable when you act like your superior when you're considered an important acquaintance.

"The first sight has requested an audience with the young lady. She's now in the garden with the younger lord Tharnomath and the knight Idrilth to hold the audience." The servant announces in a respectful manner whilst maintaining a monotonous tone.

"Treyah Tuldani, again? What's his deal?" I ask annoyed by the unwelcome present, unwarranted memories of yesterday flooding my mind once more.

A surge of pain comes over me, the desire to kill trying to take over. I take out the pipe in response and light it with some of the given narcotics. Calming my nerves and the still lingering effects of the treatment.

"Lead the way." I respond, brown mixed with silver gray colored pipe in hand.

The servant leads the way towards their meeting. This time they've chosen not to hold it by the small pond, but rather by in a field filled different kind of flowers. Looking ahead, I see that Tharnomath, Eli and Treyah are sitting on one large blanket while Idrilth stands next to them keeping guard.

"Well, hello there." I say giving a bright smile, clearly fake but nevertheless it's still polite to act pleased. At least for now, depends on the following conversation.

"I seat myself next to Eli as I try to see the mood of this conversation. Treyah Yuldani looks nervous or at least troubled in some manner. Tharnomath looks as cold and calculated as ever, and Eli seems uncomfortable.

"Are you okay?" I whisper into my sister's ear. Trying to figure out the situation.

"Yes, he just keeps staring at me and asking about my condition and memories." Eli whispers back, apparently having been made uncomfortable by Treyah Tuldani's attention on her.

"What do you want?" I ask rudely, dropping all formalities or pretense. Eli is uncomfortable, so it's probably better to get this conversation over with.

"That's what I've been asking for the past 5 minutes. However, the first sight has grown old, as he doesn't seem to want to respond." Tharnomath says, not hiding his hostility.

The first sight thinks for a moment, his eye still not moving away from Eli. Scanning her up and down with a grave look before he turns his gaze towards me with a smile.

"I'm so glad that you've recovered Seccessus, I hope you've managed to clean the blood off your hands" He replies in a soft tone that doesn't match his words.

"That depends on the reason of your visit." I respond, my tone having also become clearly hostile by his provocation.

"My apologies, I spoke out of term. I've come here for this young devil girl today. Your treatment was quite hard and to bury any bad blood between us. I've decided that I would like to give the girl Luciel's blessing and a given name." Treyah Tuldani explains, his arms wide open as he explains, all sign of hostility and malice gone.

I look over towards Tharnomath, he seems quite suspicious of this sudden offer, and so am I. Treyah Tuldani is a demon that doesn't do something without a reason, otherwise he wouldn't be head of the church.

"May I?" Treyah Tuldani asks breaking the silence or perhaps purposefully trying to force this blessing.

I still look over to Tharnomath, he responds by giving a nod and a shrug. Basically saying, "go ahead, I've got no idea what he's playing at."

"What do you want?" I ask Eli, not willing to force anything upon her.

"I accept your offer." She says in a proud and unwavering tone towards Treyah Tuldani.

He gives her his typical sly smile in his response. Afterwards, he holds up his wooden hands, he begins to lightly mutter something. For some reason, in a very silent tone, making it impossible to hear anything. A familiar red light comes out of his hands as he places them on top of Eli's head.

I prepare some dark magic, just in case he might try something.

Treyah Tuldani's eyes flicker with the same light coming from his hands as he looks up at the sky and speaks.

"From henceforth you will be called Eloisa Calliope Aurora. May Luciel smile upon your journey, and may this name carry your tales and legends for the future to come." Treyah Tuldani announces with a voice of authority and certainty. The red light around his shine brightly once and immediately goes out. Just like a fire bursting out before it becomes the ashen ground.
