Experimentation Brought For Preparation

The bare room is once again filled with Ergillaz's aura. It's beautiful yet frightening, the aura itself giving faint shimmers of different colors. Resembling those of the many minerals one can find, yet still frightening as its weight also feels like you're being crushed under the earth.

Treyah Tuldani is experiencing this feeling at the moment as he's being restricted by the golden eyes archdevil.

"It's not the time to become shy now, first sight."

"..."

"As you said before, I help you understand, and you help me understand. So I suggest you explain why the church has been acting more sly than usual." Ergillaz says in a low and menacing tone. The golden eyes locked upon his victim.

"Why are you acting so prim and proper? We simply had the same idea." Treyah Tuldani responds in a groaning tone, showing his struggle against Ergillaz's power.

Heavy breathing and panting follow as the first sight is still getting mercilessly crushed, the accompanying silence is uncomfortable and cruel.

"The same idea? Do explain, I don't recall conducting any mass sacrificial rituals." Ergillaz decides to speak, having made the first sight suffer because of his previous answer.

"The council... also came to the conclusion that we needed someone who we could mold into a weapon."

Ergillaz's gaze narrows, hearing the confession of Treyah Tuldani. Showing displeasure with the explanation. The aura that envelopes the room not simply restraining anymore but has become hostile. The bare wall decorated with the odd splatter of stained blood starts to slowly crack.

"We... We... We decided to capture some of the weaker demons and start experimenting on them, hoping that some mutation might have the potential to guarantee our victory." Treyah Tuldani explains, answering the questions of Ergillaz has become increasingly difficult. Simply breathing and not losing consciousness already requires the utmost concentration.

"Then another suggestion came along, why don't we use the failed experiments and summon a reincarnated soul. Their potential has been rumored to frighten even the gods."

"..."

"Apparently the ritual succeeded, but the reincarnated was a frail girl. So, it was decided that we should try and force her powers to grow in an unnatural manner." Treyah Tuldani explains, his eyelids almost completely closed as darkness beckons.

"Quite the choice of words. Why did you use, apparently, were you absent from the experimentation?" Ergillaz asks, lowering his pressure to give Treyah Tuldani the ability to answer.

"yes, Hunda Hakel was in charge of the experimentation."

"Was the decision unanimous?"

"... Yes it was."

"This conversation was quite enlightening. The church summoned a reincarnation using some failed experiments. Then saw it was a small girl and decided to forcefully awaken her powers. This failed, and the child managed to break free. Leaving her to wander the streets whilst having a weak body because of the experimentation forced upon her."

"..."

"And you were never at the experimentation itself, and thus never recognized that the small girl that our new champion has basically adopted was the same girl the church experimented on."

"Ergillaz." Treyah Tuldani mutters under his still shaken breath, the sound of his gritting teeth hinting at his subdued rage.

"You see first sight, now we've come to a potential issue. Seccessus and the girl are quite close, and if this were to reach his ears. Then he would demand blood, so don't fester any false hope that he might forgive. He has shown mercy upon a few, but he still has spilled more blood than he has forgiven." Ergillaz Talvit says, his gaze switching between the unconscious demon and Treyah Tuldani.

"Look at you acting so high and mighty." Treyah Tuldani responds not hiding his bitterness and anger anymore, the conversation on an equal footing has long been lost.

"Unlike you, Ergillaz, we did not have the luck to discover a natural reincarnation. Weren't you acting the same way, granting your power to some pale orc in the hopes that he might become powerful enough to play a part. So don't act like a saint, you would've made the same choice." Treyah Tuldani responds, forcing his head upwards, the snapping sound of twigs and the dripping of blood filling the silence.

The golden eyes and the red mixed with orange eyes meet. Their gazes hostile and unwelcoming.

A violent coughing sound comes from the other side of the room. The still unconscious body of Seccessus the origin of the interruption. Ergillaz walks over towards, Seccessus and puts his hand on his forehead.

"Temperature is rising, my aura has probably not helped his recovery." Ergillaz says in a tone, cursing himself, under his breath.

Deciding that this charade with Treyah Tuldani has lasted long enough. Ergillaz decides to pick up the unconscious Seccessus and carry him like one would carry a sack of potatoes.

"It seems our conversation will have to end here." Ergillaz says, walking past Treyah Tuldani, who's still unable to stand up.

"But I'm a man of my word, and I realize that I've gotten more information from this conversation than you have. So I will share some other knowledge that I've accumulated these past years."

Treyah Tuldani does not turn around to look at Ergillaz. His silence in this situation has become the sign of affirmation. Not that it would have mattered.

"He also knew some spirit named "Cornelaius". He's not a demonic spirit, and his origin is unknown. He didn't look threatening, but the fact that he managed to fool me and Sorzana Soquil is quite the feat. If you truly want to know what kind of life he lived before Lucille's Light, then I would advise capturing him."

Ergillaz walks away, leaving the messy, bare looking room with the 2 priest in it. Treyah Tuldani's squeezes his wooden hands made of twigs and vines. Processing the situation that has just come to pass and the new information given by Ergillaz.

The sound of footsteps fills the hall once more as Ergillaz peaks through the door again.

"Just in case, Leilaya is a demon who's blind. I will take any attempt of hurting her or any "mysterious accidents" as a declaration of war against the Talvit estate." Ergillaz says in a leisurely tone, almost mocking the powerless priest.

The halls underneath the church fall to silence again. The visitors have come and gone as they make their way back to the estate.
