Slolo Leveling: The Monarch Of The Hunt

This wasn't what he was expecting. Honestly, he felt this wasn't what anyone would expect when dying in your first gunfight. It wasn't even something that he did, it was something that he was trying to stop! Being a newly appointed police officer at the age of twenty-one, he expected to stop muggings and write tickets, and nothing exciting would happen for a while. It only took three months for a bank robbery to happen and for him to get shot in the lung and bleed out. Now he was a baby again. Yeah, no way he was going to join the police force again. ___ This is a project that my friend is helping me make... The start may be boring but I'm hoping that it won't suck too much.

Chapter two

[Congradulations! You have been chosen!]

... Moon Dae-Seong remained stoic as he ate the food his mother provided him. This shit was good. Like chef-level stuff. This woman was awesome.

The blue hologram in front of him indicated that he had just got something and had a very good idea of what it was. The important thing was that he was a teenager again... and he died, but he wouldn't sweat the details.

Humming in thought, he recalled if he remembered anything about manga or anime where systems were essential to growth. Fast progress, in the beginning, slows down later, skills, stat points... Magic! Can he use magic?

(Status.)

Without delay, the screen disappeared, and in its place, appeared another, bigger one. Lazily observing everything, internally quirked an eyebrow, it would be too weird if he did that right now.

He had no idea what "Sense" was, but he choked it up to instinct. His intelligence was high and so was his agility, even if it was lower than the former. Nice, maybe a spellcaster? An assassin with an inclination to magic? His options were interesting yet limited. Those two were off the top of his head, he was sure he would pick out a build later.

For someone who was a police officer, he had some time to spare when he was still studying, Manga and Anime were two of the few relaxation sources he had.

"Is it good?"

His attention was grabbed by the woman in front of him and he looked at the expectant face of his mother. Smiling slightly he nodded at the question. It was amusing, watching her face morph from excited to happy, bringing out a chuckle... He choked.

Slamming a fist into his chest, he coughed, noticing that she stood up from her seat to come to his side and tap gently on his back. It didn't help much, but the thought was appreciated.

"Sorry, went down the wrong pipe."

Chuckling, she went down to her seat and continued eating. Dae-Seong inwardly glared at the blue screen in front of him. Could he turn down the damn volume? Too loud.

__

[Daily Quest: Prepare!]

[Objective: Situps: 0/20. Pushups: 0/20. Squats: 0/20. Run: 0/2Km.]

[Warning: Failing to complete the quest will bring a punishment associated with the quest.]

_

Eye twitching, he dismissed the annoying popup. He would check if there were any settings where he could turn down the volume later, he needed supplements to complete the quest. He didn't want to find out what the punishment was. There were two likely outcomes if he ignored the quest. Either he would be teleported to where the punishment would take place, or the punishment would come to him.

He didn't want that. He wasn't able to protect himself and neither was he able to protect his new mother.

"U-uh, Dae-Seong, will you go back to school?"

He looked up from the food, staring at his mother for a moment but shaking his head in the end. She deflated a little and he immediately felt bad. He didn't know the troubles of this body's previous owner, but he wasn't ready to go out to mingle with this his previous classmates.

"A month-"

His mother looked up, her eyebrows shooting to her hairline as she stared at her son, or more correctly, her son's body.

"Give me a month to gather myself, I'll study from home until then and do all the homework so I don't fall behind. Just... Give me a month."

She smiled and nodded. He instantly felt bad, this woman loved her child, and now he was taking his rightful place. Closing his eyes for a moment, he exhaled and finished up his plate. Grabbing it as he stood, he walked over to the sink and placed it inside.

Turning around, he walked outside the kitchen and went back to his room.

"Quest"

The same blue screen, indicating the progress of his tasks, appeared in front of him. He looked over it one more time, taking note that there were no Rewards shown on it. Sighing, he started the training.

It was pathetic. How quickly his body got tired only halfway through the four tasks. He used to do a lot more when he was a cop, but he supposed it was only fair. He got a second chance at life, it was too much to expect for a strong body as well.

He sat down after finishing the pushups, letting his body rest for a moment as he stared at the Quest list.

He was halfway done, yet here he was, heaving like a dog that hadn't had a drink of water in two days. This body would get better with time, but it didn't mean that he should be pleased with its current state.

With another sigh, he stood up and started with the second half of his quest.
