Grover vs Rose

"I'll handle this chick on my own? Don't make me laugh!" Rose spits, mocking Grover.

"Hell yeah, I'm gonna beat you up all on my own!" Grover exclaims. "My name is Grover Bradshaw, and my soon-to-be victory over you will be one of many on my path to becoming the next Chairman of the Slayer Organization! Now, why don't we make this easy for both of us and spill the beans in your Cursed Ability right here, right now? It'll spare you from a whole world of hurt!"

"Someone's a little cocky. "You must be a dope to think that I'm telling you my Cursed Ability so easily!" Rose replies. "You say that I'm the one who will be telling you about my Cursed Ability, but fail to realize that you will be the one telling me about your Cursed Ability within seconds."

"Yeah? Like that would ever happen!" Grover snaps.

Grover starts off this fight in his usual way. He digs his hands deep into his knife pouches and swiftly flings his hands out, sending a multitude of knives scattering in Rose's direction. The knives slice the inmate up, carving shallow wounds into her skin. But rather than opening up his Wormholes and continuing on with another volley of his Knife Storm, Grover abnormally lets his knives clang onto the ground.

"Umm...hey!" Grover calls to Rose. "You didn't even try to deflect that, are you ok?" Rose doesn't say anything, she clutches the wounds on her body in silence, as Grover slowly starts approaching her. "I feel kinda bad using my Cursed Power on a defenseless person, the future Chairman of the Slayer Organization doesn't pick on the innocent. Are you sure that you are a Cursed Ability user? If not, we can just settle this mano-a-mano, even if you are a girl." Rose is silent as Grover keeps approaching her, until he stands directly in front of Rose, who remains doubled over in pain, clutching the gashes in her arms.

Grover doesn't know what to say at first, but then, Rose flinches! She madly sticks out her arm, attempting to make contact with Grover. But Grover is fast, and he's able to leap backwards in time, giving Rose a quick slash to the hand with one of his knives and using his Wormhole to make a quick get away, but not before Rose's hand grazed Grover's!

"OHHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOODDDDD! You touched me! Dammit, I'm screwed, you're Cursed Ability probably kicked in by now, anddddd nothings happening," Grover rambles, his panic instantly subsiding when he sees that nothing has even come of Rose touching him.

"My Cursed Ability isn't doing anything you say?" Rose replies. "Well, why don't we see about that? Come attack me now!"

Grover hesitates for a second, then shouts: "Well it's probably a trap but here I come!" Grover reaches back into his pockets in order to deliver his usual Knife Storm. "I'm going to reach into my pocket then throw out five knives! One head on, one knife twenty degrees from the middle one on the left, and then on the right, and then two more at a forty degree angle on the right and the left when compared to the first one. But what she doesn't know is that I also flung a knife behind me, which I'll open up a wormhole for after I use the other five as a diversion. Wait...why am I saying all this out loud?

Rose simply smirks as she dodges all of Grover's attacks. "Can't forget the knife coming from behind," she says, dodging the flying knife with ease.

"One wormhole to her right, then the left, another two over her shoulders and a fifth to her abdomen. I'll repeat that parent two, no, three times in order to establish a rhythm, then finally open up the wormhole with the hidden sixth knife," Grover repeats. "Damnit, why am I doing this?!" He cries. Rose dodges the knives as easily as Grover throws them. After a few minutes, Grover's Knife Storm attack ended, and Rose...she hadn't a single scratch, spare the intentional slices from the beginning of the fight.

"Hey, you! What did you do to me?" Grover snaps as he points an accusing finger at Rose, who laughs in response.

"And why would I tell you, little boy?!" She laughs.

"Hmm…think, Grover, think!" Grover grumbles to himself as he reaches up and grabs his headband. Grover stretches his headband out, before letting go. And as the snap of his headband slapping his forehead rings out, Grover is struck with a sudden realization. "That's right! Austin mentioned how there must have been a telepathic Cursed Ability user amongst the inmates, to correlate their breakout. I must be facing the telepath!" Grover thinks to himself. "No, but that won't explain why I'm narrating all of my thoughts out loud…"

"You're doing it right now, by the way," Rose announces, causing Grover to groan and furiously rub the sides of his head in frustration. "Now then, why don't we speed up the process, little boy. Tell me you're Cursed Ability," Rose ominously orders.

"Hah! As if I'd tell you that my Cursed Ability is called Wormhole. Or that I open up Entrance wormholes up to a meter away from my body, and then an Exit wormhole either within my line of sight or to a location within my memory. Anyone and anything can pass through my Entrance wormholes, and once they do, they find themselves at my Exit wormholes instantaneously…crap! I wasn't even thinking about my Cursed Ability, how did that happen?!" Grover cries.

"Simple. Asking about your Cursed Ability, I forced your brain to subconsciously think about your Cusred Ability, even if you weren't consciously thinking about it, causing you to say it out loud. My Cursed Ability is a lot easier to use than you would think," Rose explains.

Grover growls and grits his teeth then, unclenches them. Grover's face softens a little as he throws his head back in laughter.

"Y-you're laughing?" Rose stammars. "Do you not understand your predicament? You have no hope after you've made contact with me! I can hear your every thought, you can't land a single attack on me?!"

"Austin, you bastard, I can't believe you predicted a telepath! I had no idea there would actually be one!" Grover says, still laughing.

"Yes, I. AM. A. TELEPATH. You have no hope!" Rose cries, clearly flustered.

Grover simply smiles in response as he stops laughing. "It's not over until I say it's over! And...I'LL NEVER SAY IT'S OVER, NOT UNTIL I DIE LONG AFTER BECOMING THE NEXT TOP SLAYER, AND HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION!

"Such a young, idealistic child," Rose sighs. "I used to be like that one day, too. But you better look out, little boy. The world will break you faster than you could even realize. And pretty soon, you'll be wallowing in a puddle of your broken dreams."

"We'll see about that!" Grover reaches into his pockets, but this time his plan is different. "I'm going to pretend to throw out my knives, but instead I'll use my body as a weapon! I'll teleport above Rose and hit her with my famed Green Axekick!" Grover does just as he said. He pulls his hands out of his pockets, faking a knife toss before teleporting above Rose and delivering a flying axe kick to the skull. Of course, not needing to worry about the knives that weren't coming, all Rose needs to do is throw her hands up and protect her head from Grover's kick, which she did.

"Now, I'll teleport in front of her and get her with a roundhouse!" Grover announces. Grover does as he said, and before Rose could prepare her defenses, Grover strikes her in the stomach, sending Rose flying backwards.

"You're fast," Rose grunts in annoyance as she pushes herself off of the ground and wipes the blood from off her face.

"Your telepathy can't help you if you can't keep up with me," Grover cackles.

Grover teleports back to his starting position after his failed kick. "Let's try that again, but with knives this time!" And so Grover did, this time however, Rose didn't sit by and let the knives slice her. Rose uses her acrobatic body to dodge the knives before stepping away from Grover's second flying axe kick.

"Seems like I'm getting used to your attack patterns,"she smirks.

"Heh, your ability is a toughie," Grover replies. "But good thing I have the perfect counter."

"Huh?! You do?! Tell me, what is it?!" Rose snaps. But Grover is silent. "Why are you silent, why aren't you telling me your secrets?!" Grover continues saying nothing as he strolls over to the steel walls of the prison and grasps it firmly with both hands. Rose watches in a nervous anticipation. A wide, eerie grin spreads across Grover's face, and then bang!" Grover slams his face into the wall as hard as he can, blood instantly spurting from his nose and forehead, and trickling down his face. Grover retracts his face from the wall, then slams it back into the wall, again and again, until Grover's face is soaked with blood.

"What are you doing?!" Rose cries. "And why aren't you telling me?!"

After a few moments, Grover stumbles away from the wall, in a daze. Grover stumbles around, eventually managing to turn around to face Rose, and when he does, Rose sees that Grover's eyes are completely glossed over. Grover then reaches into his pockets, causing Rose to flinch. Grover then flings a knife upwards into the security cameras above him, scattering the camera, and causing large shards to rain down upon Grover.

"No way…did he…" Rose stammars. "Yes, he did! He purposely slammed his face into the wall to lose enough blood and limit his thoughts! He's fighting on complete and utter instinct now! What kind of psycho does such a thing?!"

Grover sticks his hand into his pockets, but this time, tossed his knives into the air. Grover then spawns Wormholes all across the room, facing the knives. As Grover's knives fall into his wormholes, Grover then spawns new wormholes, surrounding Rose, and facing her.

"Shit, I'm surrounded!" Rose cries.

By using the momentum of falling to the ground to strengthen their speed, Grover's knives then fly out of his wormholes, zooming towards Rose.

"I was an acrobat for years, dodging knives is child's play!" Rose shouts as she ducks and weaves through Grover's knives. As she does so, Rose grabs some of Grover's knives and fling them back at him. "He's not even paying attention, this should be easy!" But much to Rose's surprise, surviving on raw instinct alone, Grover ducks and weaves, using his wormholes, to dodge the knives that Rose flings his way. "What?! Rose cries. "He can even dodge by relying only on instinct?! Just how long has this kid been fighting for?! Unfortunately, Grover isn't able to dodge all of Rose's knives, and some puncture his flesh. And by the time that Grover's knife attack ends, both Grover and Rose are left standing there in a bloody mess, panting heavily.

"Maybe if I reactivate my Cursed Ability on him, I can hear his thoughts again?" Rose suggests as she charges Grover again. Grover stands still, not responding to Rose's charge. "Hah! Finally unconscious, eh?! Blood loss finally got to you?!"

Rose reaches a hand out to Grover as scarlet Cursed Power begins glowing around her hand, causing Grover to instinctively stick his hand into his pocket. "Slash me all you want! As long as I touch you, it's all over!"

Grover then swings his hand out of his pocket, but rather than wielding one of his kunai knives, Grover is holding a large shard of glass, a shard that broke off of the security camera that Grover shattered earlier

"Huh? What's that?!" Rose asks as she grabs Grover's wrist, staring at her reflection in the shard of glass. "Either way, it doesn't matter. While he's distracted, I'll grab onto his wrist so that he can't get away, and roundhouse kick him in the stomach," Rose announces. Rose's eyes then widen. "Wait…why am I saying this outloud? My Cursed Ability, Tattletell, forces whomever I look at to say their thoughts out loud, so long as I store Cursed Power up in my eyes. I can also switch to hearing their thoughts telepathically as well, allowing us to communicate telepathically. So why am I saying my thoughts aloud and not you?!" Grover, of course, doesn't answer. Rose's eyes widen even further. "Wait…so when I looked at my reflection in the glass as I activated my Cursed Ability, it reflected back at me?!" Rose cries. "You…" she growls. "You're unconscious?! How did you think of such a strategy while being unconscious?!"

Grover unconsciousness smirks in response.

"I'm a telepath, I'm invincible, you can't beat me!" Rose cries. "Shit, now I'm flustered. I don't want to admit it, but I'm at a disadvantage now! Shit!"

Grover sprints towards Rose, his Cursed Power is exhausted and he no longer has the strength to open up a single wormhole. Grover jumps into the air, cocking his leg back to strike a rose with a roundhouse, to which she dodges. Rose grabs Grover's leg and slams the boy into the ground. Grover spits up blood as he lands on one of his fallen knives, puncturing his already injured body.

Grover then charges Rose again, not a single thought popping into his brain. "He's...doing it! He's not thinking a single thought!" She cries. Grover's body automatically draws a knife and then hops into the air! Grover delivers a flurry of kicks to Rose's body, before finishing her off with a knife slash to her face.

"How...how could my perfect Cursed Ability be beaten?!" Rose grunts as she collapses to the ground, unconscious.

Grover then falls down to one knee as well, his thoughts returning to his body. "I need to get this information to the others…" Grover pants. "That's how the inmates broke out of prison!" But then, Grover falls face forwards onto the ground, woozy from blood loss. "I'll just…rest my eyes for a brief moment…" Grover grunts, before slipping unconscious. As he does so, the lights above Grover begin to flicker
