The Plan
ONE DAY EARLIER
As Esmeralda hurried to the carriage, she considered who she should turn to for her plan. It wasn't a new question, as she'd considered the problem many times over the past few months. The options were somewhat limited, which made it easier. Glenn had proven his loyalty in the past, rushing to defend Vivian and avenge her, even when she asked him not to. However, he was rash, and while Jacob helped him train, his magical capabilities were still lagging behind the opponents.
The second option was Quinn. She had no particular connection to Vivian, but she was one of Jacob's oldest friends at the academy, and Esmeralda knew that Vivian had some quaint reservations about being seen naked by males. A female rescuer should be more to her liking. The main issue was whether Quinn would be willing to help.
