Ivy is walking down the hall when she hears Arizona call her name, "Shepherd, ride with Karev. He's on a baby run."
"Grabbing my jacket!" Ivy calls, quickly following them.
Her and Alex quickly get the ambulance suited for a neonatal transfer. She quickly takes a seat across from Alex and sighs.
"You ready?" He asks her.
"Yeah. Newborn life hanging in the balance, here we come," Ivy says.

They sit in silence for awhile before Alex tells her, "Meredith got a call from Janet. Apparently, they were told to move on."
"What? Why?" Ivy turns to him.
"They're courtdate got canceled," he tells him.
"God, I can't imagine how they're feeling. I'm sure Derek's going to try suing and Meredith, well you know her better than I do."
Alex sighs, "Shes going to want to give up. Shes been let down to many times."
They arrive at the hospital then and quickly unload. Bring the incubator in, Alex looks to the nearest staff member, "Hey, we're here to pick up a newborn, take her to Seattle Grace."
"You're, uh, you're looking for me. I'm Jordan Wagner. I am really glad to see you guys," a doctor says further down the hall.
Alex does introductions, "Yeah, I'm Alex Karev. Ivy Shepherd."
He nods and starts guiding them to the patient, "Okay. Li-uh, listen, she was born six hours ago, right away, trouble breathing. Stomach looked distended, so we put down an N.G. tube. But the x-ray showed that it was just coiling in her chest. We've done everything we can to keep her breathing, but it's been a struggle."
"You don't have a neonatal mask?"
"We're not set up for neonatal or O.B. She was an emergency delivery, otherwise, we would've sent her to the hospital in Leavenworth," Wagner explains.
"Pulse ox is 79. Respiratory rate is 80. Shes got retraction," Ivy reads.
Alex looks to Wagner, "How come she's not intubated?"
He shakes his head, "The smallest tube we had didn't fit. Please tell me that you brought a neonatal tube."
Alex looks through the kit as Ivy says, "We're gonna need x-ray in here for a post-intubation film. This I.V.s no good."
"Yeah, you don't even have a neonatal central line kit,"
"No."
"I.O. needle?" Ivy asks.
He shakes his head, "No."
Ivy opens the kit and looks through it aggressively, they need to figure this out and quick.

Ivy quickly grabs the phone for Alex to fall Robbins, Jackson picks up and takes them to Robbins. Ivy keeps working as Alex talks with her.
"The kids septic. Shes got pneumonia. Yeah, well, they don't have any neonatal stuff here at all. We intubated, we started an umbilical line to hang D10 normal saline and antibiotics. But her SATs aren't coming up, and all the oxygens going into her stomach. They don't have a 3-0 E.T. tube. You think they're gonna have an amplatz? All right. Get her head up," Alex directs Ivy, "A Fogarty catheter? Yeah, what else? Uh, how about an 8 French suction catheter? Got it. All right. We're gonna call you when we get to rig. Yeah, I know that."
He quickly hangs up and starts grabbing the stuff for what Robbins told him to get.

They start pushing the incubator and baby out to the rig when they hear someone behind them, "Wait. I'm coming with you."
"Dana? Why is she out here?"
"She said if I didn't take her, she'd walk. I was afraid she'd try it," the nurse told Wagner.
Dana pleads with him, "Please let me come with her."
He kneels in front of her, "Dana... you just had surgery, and you've lost a lot of blood."
"I'll be fine. Please."
"I need you to take care of yourself. These guys, they're the best. Shes in great hands," Wagner pleads with her.
She starts crying, "Please. She's my baby. We're supposed to be together. I can't leave her. Shes so little. Please. I have to be with her. Please let me go with her."
All Ivy can think about is Meredith, Derek and Zola. So she walks forward, "I'm Dr. Shepherd and that over there is Dr. Karev. We are taking your daughter to the best baby surgeon there is."
"She doesn't even have a name yet," Dana tells her.
"You'll give her one. When you come to Seattle and hold her. Until then, I'm going to take care of her. You have my word and I don't break promises, ask Dr. Karev," Dana looks to Alex who smiles and nods.
Dana finally nods at Ivy, who then turns back and starts towards the rig with the incubator.

Ivy stares at the baby as Alex looks at her, "You think they'll try adoption again?"
"Social services just took their daughter, I doubt they want to try quite yet," Ivy says.
"Surrogate?"
"Why are you asking me? I know I'm Derek's sister, but he doesn't share his every thought with me," Ivy asks.
He sighs, "Cause it's my fault. And I can't be responsible for them not having kids. Its too much."
Ivy shakes her head, "Its not your fault."
"Yeah it is."
"No its not and if you argue with me again, I'll consider pushing you out of the rig," Ivy smiles.
Alex snorts, "Just consider?"
Ivy laughs, "Yeah, causing harm to a fellow resident would not look good. Plus, you're a friend and I wouldn't do that to you."
Suddenly the rig stops. Pulling off, Alex asks the driver, "Dude, what's the problem?"
The driver gets out and comes around back to open the door, Alex asks again, "What happened to the engine?"
"I don't know what the crap it is. I called for another unit, but we're in the iddle of nowhere. It's gonna take forever. Im putting these out and I'm gonna run back. It looked like these was a store or something about half a mile back. Maybe they got a truck. You gotta get out of the rig," he explains.
