Systematic test

"Hey Ascrid! I wanna try the ramen from that shop over there" Gaia pointed a ramen shop. I just finished eating my ice cream and there goes another request. Sigh... What a pain. Well, we agreed for her to join us so it's our job to --go with the flow--.

"Okay, let's try the noodles there and then let's try a cake from that cake shop. It really catches my attention and I'm kinda craving for some strawberry cake." I said my honest thoughts. I looked at them happily and they nodded. We went to the noodle shop and ordered three bowls of seafood noodles. Our order arrived and we started to eat. We were eating silently at first, but then Xeno started a topic.

"Gaia, how's the Literature club going?" Xeno asked. Gaia smiled and calmly answered, "The club is still standing and is still doing great. Though, Aldrich isn't attending our club meetings anymore... I really hope he could finish his novel earlier, so that the Literature club's spirit will be back to its finest."

Huh... So that guy isn't attending his club's activities as well. I think I might pay him a visit later. "Hey, are you not worried about the upcoming test next week?" Gaia asked out of blue. Heh, I don't worry about that kind of stuff. Tests are just test, and that's not a problem to me. I'm a hundred percent sure that I won't fail this test, but I don't know about Xeno. He looked dead when Gaia brought up the --Test-- topic.

"Let me guess, you didn't study?" I asked Xeno while preparing my laugh. He answered with "I tried" in a sad tone. Huh?! What does he mean by "I tried". I looked at Xeno and sadness was clearly written on his face. I was planning to laugh at him at first, but it disappeared when his mood changed.

"Are you okay Xeno?" Gaia asked. Xeno remained silent and didn't give a word. I tried to ask as well but I saw Gaia's worried eyes saying "Something is definitely not right about him". Sigh, time to put my persuasive skill in action.

I braced myself and opened my mouth. I opened my mental vocabulary and started to talk, "What's the matter Xeno?"

"It's nothing... Like really, it's just a minor house problem" He responded with a sad tone.

"I won't take --Nothing-- as an answer. Give me a more accurate explanation about your current problems." I continued to force Xeno to answer. He changed his mood immediately and laughed. This type of escape trick won't work on me. I maintained my emotionless expression and stared at him, "Just like I said, --Nothing-- is none existent inside my expected answers right now. Tell me what's your problem or we'll end this day right here!"

"Gu-guys... Don't start a scene in here..." I heard Gaia muttering from her chair. Tsk, who cares if I make a scene. What's important right now is for me to know what is wrong with Xeno. If I don't know what is his problem, then I won't be able to help him.

Xeno sighed and told me to sit properly. He looked at his bowl of noodle and started to talk, "My parents recently started fighting, and because of that, our house is starting to become a warzone. They kept on arguing about anything and kept on finding ways to start a fight. My older sister really wanted to stay and hang out with me, but she decided to leave because of our parent's constant fights. I would really love to study, but who would be able to focus studying when their parents are constantly fighting for an unknown reason!"

Oofff... That is a serious problem. Hmm... I know Xeno's mother, and she's the type of parent who wouldn't want to start a fight. If what Xeno's saying is true, then it must be his father's fault. I'm unsure about my conclusion, but I at least have an answer. I have to solve this mess if I don't want to see Xeno be sad.

I have a plan but that will be settled for later. For now, I must focus on my goal. The goal of having fun with Xeno, and a beast... Err... Girl, named Gaia.

"Ok." I stated with a cold tone. I tried to act like I'm ignoring Xeno's problem, and make him think that I don't care about it. Having him worry about me is one of the things that I'm afraid to happen.

"Pffff... Hahahaha!!! When it's about food, you become very serious about it." Xeno said after hearing my word. Gaia on the other hand, stared at me but I gave her a smile.

She gave up and sighed, then she continued finishing her noodle which was interrupted by the --scene-- I caused.

I turned my attention back to Xeno. When I looked at him, he was back to his cheerful, and smiling state. I felt a bit of relief when I saw him smile. The people who were watching us lately didn't pay much attention to us, so it's a great situation for me.

We continued eating and after finishing each of our own bowl of noodles, we left the noodle shop and started heading towards another shop.

"Kay', time to eat a strawberry cake!" I stated with a cheerful voice. "Glutton" I heard Gaia said it behind me. I was about to face her with my serious face, but then Xeno started to talk, "Haha, he's just craving for some cake Gaia. It's not a sin to crave for something you really like to eat."

I nodded to Xeno's statement. Yes, it is not a sin to crave for something you like. Anyways, we went inside the cake shop and I ordered two pieces of strawberry cake. Gaia and Xeno was already full, so they didn't order anything. We left once I finished paying for my cake.

Xeno wanted to go to the nearby bookstore and he wants us to accompany him. I agreed and so is Gaia. We made our way to the bookstore, but when we're halfway from our destination... Something happened.

When Gaia was taking a picture of herself, in the screen of her phone, she saw a guy on the edge of the rooftop of a tenth floor building. The building was near us, so when Gaia told us about what she just saw, we immediately looked at the certain rooftop of a building.

"Uhhhh, is it just me or I'm feeling something strange right now?" Gaia said while hiding behind our back. "There is no way he's going to jump from there." Xeno said nervously. When the other people saw us looking above, they also noticed the guy. The spot immediately got crowded and a police officer immediately came running towards our area.

"Please stay from this side, and do not plan to step any further from there!" The officer announced with a loud voice while pushing all the other people inside a safer area.

"He's gonna suicide!"

"Is he gonna jump?!"

"Is he gonna kill his self?!"

Statements of the other people was entering our heads. But still, a question remained inside of my mind. "Is he gonna end his life by falling down a tenth floor building?"
