Jack Turner was a normal seventeen year old boy. he went to school, had a job, and other then the fact that he lived alone in his grandpa's townhouse, he lived an ordinary life, until the day he saw something he wasn't supposed to see, in the end he lost his life. the HE brought him back to life. placing "the seal of anointing" on his left hand. now Jack finds himself dragged into the world of the supernatural. he joins the "church" a secret sect of Christianity dedicated to fighting the most fearsome paranormal threats the world has ever seen. little does Jack know that he has a destiny of biblical proportions.
Jack laid there on the ground after being stabbed by the man in black, his vision was turning red.
The pain he felt was horrible, it was as if his skin and insides were being burned.
It stung so bad he wanted to scream, but he lacked the strength.
He was laying on his stomach, he tried covering the wound to stop the bleeding.
But it was futile, Jack looked forward to see the girl.
She looked familiar. But with the dimness of the alley and everything that was happening he didn't recognize her.
But...
He knew one thing, this might be her one chance to escape.
He didn't care about what would happen to him, he just wanted her to be safe. So with whatever strength he had left he crawled forward. And musterd out "run... Run... Run!"
But instead of heading his warning.
He heard sobbing from the girl, then she exclaimed "you idiot... Why? Why?"
He didn't know why she sed that. But he thought from her response she definitely knew him.
Meanwhile, Lisa sobbed on her knees...
Watching the boy she admired bleed out.
She could have healed him, however she was in shock. and also if she did the sorcerer she had been chasing would either attack her and him or escape.
Not that she was thinking about these possiblity's. No instead she was thinking why didn't he listen to her.
She had warned him to look out for himself, of course she didn't mention anything about a deranged pagan God worshipping magic wielding maniac.
But still, he should have been more careful.
Yes she was greatfull for him trying to help.
But in the end his atept to save her resulted in what may be his demise.
She simply stayed there asking over and over
"Why?... Why?... Why?"
Jack with turned over on his back, holding the wound.
His eyes stared beyond the tops of the buildings that surrounded the alley.
Into the night sky, and there like a guardian angel was the moon.
Flooring in the sky as if observing all humanity.
'thie is it huh?'
His life flashed before his eyes.
All his mistakes mostly.
All he thought about was the fact that he'd never get to make up for them, he'd never accomplished his dream.
"I... Don't wanna die-'
He then thought about what might lay beyond the grave, would he enter heaven? No...
Most certainly not.
He knew he was not good enough to enter.
Just then he felt a wave of pain surge from his torso, and red hot liquid came shooting into his throat. He coughed it up.
"Not yet-"
He knew he'd never get into heaven, not after all that he'd done in the past. He'd excepted that...
If he went to hell then God would be justified in sending him there.
And, if he was honest. He was ok with dying.
He knew he deserved it.
But...
Jack had devoted himself to making up for his mistakes by becoming by helping others as recompense. That was one part of the dream he had.
And now, now he wouldn't be able to do it.
And so...
He made an appeal...
It had been a while sense he last done this, but.
He called opon the almighty.
"God... please-"
But. As he uttered those words, he drew his last breath.
His life force left his body.
And Jack Turner was no more.
"Jack?" Lisa called his name with a tremble voice.
"Jack?... Jack?"
No reply.
It was then she realized she had failed to act in time to save him.
"JACK!"
The man in black stood there silent for a moment. But then let out a sadistic chuckle.
She looked up at him.
Then, all her memories of the boy poured into her conchesness, the boy who was her hero was Gone.
And he had took him away from her.
Grief turned to anger, anger turned into rage.
!!!!
Blue lighting began to escape her body.
"YOU BASTARD!!!!!!!"
* * *
I opened my eyes to find myself floating in a black plain...
It was just like my dream.
"Wha- where am I?... How did I?...
Oh."
Then it came to me.
"I'm... Dead huh?"
What was this? Hell? Purgatory?
I had dreamed of this place...
I see...
God must have been wearing me of this place.
He was warning me of my death.
"No... No... I can't be dead."
But that was the only explanation.
"Grandpa... I'm sorry."
I failed.
Then.
I heard a voice, it was that same voice I heard in my dream.
"Jack Turner..."
I felt a presence enter the void with me, and as the voice spoke. It felt like raw power, as if the realm I was in was affected by the voices words.
"Jack Turner..." It called again.
Waves of energy seamed to move all around me as it spoke. I was afraid, what was the voice? Who was the voice?
But I answered anyway.
"H-hello?"
"You need not be afraid... " The voice answered. I could feel the presence hover above me.
"Who... What are you?"
"Who do you say that I am?"
"What?"
Then it hit me...
"Are you... God?"
"Indeed. I AM THAT I AM."
The second he uttered those words,
It was as if the powers of the universe itself had been invoked.
I felt a rush of energy all aroused me, the void itself seemed to shake with reverence.
I catched my breath.
It was him, everything in my being screamed it was. Then It occurred to me that this was were I would be judged.
"I shall not judge thee... Not yet-"
"!?"
Then he let out a slight chuckle.
"I'm omnipotent, did you forget I can read the thoughts of men's heart's?"
"O-oh."
There was a pause.
"So... If I'm not being judged, then... Where am I?"
He answered once more.
"That is not important... I have a question for you, tell me Jack... Now that your life has ended, do you have any regrets?"
As he asked that question.
All my regrets began to come before me, my gut renched as I thought about the fact that I wouldn't be able to make up for them by accomplishing my dream.
"I do."
"You had a dream did you not?"
"I did."
The presence came closer.
"What was your dream Jack?"
At that question I bursted into tears.
"I WANTED TO BE A HERO OK!"
I ripped my hair out and sobbed.
"I wanted to help others as much as I could! I wanted to save everyone's in front of me! I wanted to protect the smiles of others! I know it was stupid! I know it was childish! But still...
It was my dream... But-"
I went into the feltle possison, and I began to float down.
"It doesn't matter now- I'm dead... "
Suddenly I landed on what felt like glass.
I sat there wiping away my tears quickly.
"My life was useless anyway."
"Do not speak that way."
The voice commanded.
"What if I sed id bring you back? And give you the power to accomplish your dream?"
I looked up.
"What's the catch?"
"No catch. I only ask one thing...
You be my knight... Defend my people, save others, expell evil... I suppose thats your dream in a nutshell is it not?"
I stood up and thought for a moment.
Then with no hesitation I uttered
"I'll do it. Ill be your knight."
Suddenly a whirl wind began to blow around me, picking me up into the air as a giant white light beyond my comprenshon came into existence.
My eyes widened as I looked opon the source of the light, a humanoid figure made of pure white energy.
"Vary well... Stretch forth your hand."
I obeyed.
The figure grabbed my hand.
"Jack Turner, from this day forward you shall be my knight on earth. You shall preform miracles, slay demons, save others and
Do my will on earth-"
White and silver flames began poor out of his body and into my left hand, golden letters in another language appeared on my hand.
"I give thee the seal of anointing, which breaks yokes of bondege... Curse's, demonic power, the magic of pagons and even the false gods of old. I give you this authority Jack... Go forth and do my will."
