As much as I don't like being totally dependent on other people, being a baby has its positive parts. There aren't many of course, but for example, I just need to wave my arms a little or try to say something and I'll immediately gain everyone's attention.
But this also has its bad parts, because I can't have intense reactions without Mom or the others noticing and starting to poke or caress me. And Mahara, in particular, seems to really enjoy stroking my hair, or what little hair I have.
Fortunately, we soon got into the carriage and she took her place again guiding ribs, the big bear that pulls the carriage. But it wasn't long before somehow, Aglaya took me away from Mom and was with me, a feat worthy of attention. I was under the impression that Mom would stay with me for the entire trip, but I was wrong.
Or I wasn't mistaken and Mom really had that intention, but she must have noticed something in Aglaya's expression that made her change her mind. This could be related to the fact that today would be Aglaya's day to take care of me, or so Mom said.
Honestly, it's a little strange to know that there is a routine for women to take care of me. Wouldn't it be more efficient to have just one person to take care of me while Mom isn't with me? It would be very difficult for a baby to get used to several different faces, this would cause confusion in the baby's mind.
And this is something that should be avoided, as it can have some unpleasant consequences. Or is this dynamic different in this world? I have no idea, but maybe it has some kind of important information that I'm not aware of. Anyway, I'm not an ordinary baby and I'm going to make the best of the chances I have.
And... lavender... and lemon... If Mom smells refreshing and lively, Aglaya smells refreshing but calming. But she doesn't have the strong, appetizing milk smell that Mom has, for obvious reasons, she's not breastfeeding.
But wait a minute... Why is mom lactating? She said that I am her only son and yet I am not 'flesh of her flesh'.
No... Let's not think about that. This subject is going to complicate things even more and I don't want to think about things I shouldn't. I think it's better to focus on other things. For example, in the comfort that this carriage offers, and in the giant forest that we are crossing.
It's a little funny that we are crossing a forest to get to the village. If I hadn't heard that it's been over 2 weeks since I was rescued by uncle dragon, I would say it was yesterday. Alone and without control over my own body... a life or death situation, especially when I'm just a baby.
I have to be thankful that this forest isn't as sinister as the one I was in, it would remind me of bad things. Luckily, this forest has a much friendlier, calmer vibe.
"Arkex, niosoe amow erit wo ni poer nos nasop epas giej qop asuh eusoa vioa pels ahe aiqo? uqier pasaje asuhr alaoq nfeuh eweo ortp ashuq feot ajel asioe dhueo peyote ngleo ssdoq neosl ojaoi eoasm neht ope loaie jooe?"
"I know everyone worries about Apollo's health, I thank you girls for your sincere concern. And I already said that I also don't want to expose Apollo to unnecessary stress. That's why I'm just going to walk around the village to show Apollo some views of where he will grow up. I will not be communicating my decision to the other leaders until Apollo is old enough."
As much as I don't understand anything that Mahara is saying, from Mom's response, I can understand that she also has some concerns. If I'm not mistaken, all the maids seemed very concerned about my health. Was I really that bad? I feel great today, did something happen?
And who are these leaders that Mom spoke about?
"Greatest asow nieur hiie, Arkex. lwo no iajeo dpao epiot nalqo peoqi asnio esol aoje dejio qreo nasp pfooe aije dsaoe nlaoe vieo boie jnope que jkao neoas qree dajole, asopre dnahi reop quei ndeo nalsoe. Vultiole nahi epas eios teii namoq euijs fpe aslje asnoer nshie qloe asq."
"I WILL make it so, Iris. Apollo is MY son and I will swear that he will also be my heir. I WILL NOT ACCEPT REFUSALS."
"Hello, Arkex. Bowquio"
Hmm, I think Mahara touched on a very sensitive subject for Mom. She definitely didn't like what Mahara said, she could feel her voice getting cold as she increased the volume. Mahara also noted that she said what she shouldn't have said and appears to have apologized.
She is silent again, but she also has a depressed expression, I think she didn't like being suppressed by Mom. Did she say something inappropriate? From Mom's response, I think she questioned something about my adoption. Does mom have some kind of commitment or someone she owes explanations to?
This seems very serious and my future may depend on it. I must try to learn more about this, even if Mom is bent on defending me, I need to know what it is. Otherwise, I may learn about the matter too late to take countermeasures.
But seriously... Heir... That's really cool, it seems like I'm someone very, very important. hehehehe.
"Don't bring this up again, Mahara, I don't like it. In fact, Aglaya, I don't want any of you to bring this up again, tell the other girls after we return."
"Oir, Arkex, ojeio no qoier asnieo."
"Very well. But just to close this matter once and for all, Mahara, know that none of the other leaders can change my decision, it has already been made. And even if they remove me from the council, I no longer care. What All I care about now is taking care of Apollo."
After bringing the matter to a strict end, Mom felt a little uncomfortable. She spent a few minutes just admiring the landscape with a very thoughtful expression. Fortunately, neither Aglaya nor Mahara mentioned the matter again, which I greatly appreciate.
And so the silence lasted a few minutes, until the tension in the air dissipated. Soon, Aglaya started asking mom some things, which seems to be about some household chores and studies. Mom also started explaining all kinds of concepts about some topic that I didn't understand.
Mahara also became interested in the subject and started asking mom questions too. Which Mom answered in a composed and smooth way, as if she was used to answering questions like these.
Maybe Mom really is some kind of teacher or scholar and the maids are some kind of students. Even so, it is difficult to understand why the girls need to work as maids in the teacher's house. Are they unable to pay? Or is it the easiest way to access the knowledge that Mom seems to hold onto?
Or was it some kind of agreement between Mom and them? If I suspect, Mom is also a dragon, so she must be quite fond of riches. But I don't see how having maids will help anything, especially when they don't seem to have wealth to offer, since they are working as maids.
Anyway, Mom seems to like explaining things to the girls, so I don't see a problem. But I'd love to know what kind of agreement they have, out of curiosity, of course. I think it will be one of the first things I will have to investigate, this subject could be important for the future.
But seriously, how would Aglaya and the others look in typical student attire? Hehehehe. On the other hand, Mom is naturally exuberant, but I think her wearing a secretary outfit would be the epitome.
My god... I'm drooling just thinking about it. Okay... Alright, I'll stop imagining lewd things with women I just met.
To my delight, none of the women noticed my gaze wandering over their bodies. I also don't know if I would be able to tell, since a baby doesn't have a wide variety of expressions. Thank you for that.
The conversation between the three women continued for several minutes. If I were to guess, I think it took about 30 to 40 minutes, but I don't know for sure. What I know for sure is that the atmosphere became much happier, Mom even had a little smile. And the conversation only ended because it seems like we're close to our destination.
"Arkex Inessa, huoq nask euis pale niaoe miur. Amne Abigail qiso ape jiie no quioeo nlaoe maaoe ouao."
"Yes, Mahara, we will stop at Abigail's house first. I need to talk to her for a bit and get some medicine for Apollo."
"Hello, Arkex."
"Aglaya, you will go in with me and Apollo. Mahara will wait for us, but we won't be long, we have many places to visit."
"Hello, Arkex."
After talking to the girls, Mom looked at me and gave an amused smile. She probably wants to see my reactions when we enter the village. Which didn't take long to happen.
And... HOLY SHIT, why are there a bunch of palaces here??
Palace of white marble on the left, palace of black marble on the right, palace of green materials, blue, indigo, red... Was this supposed to be a villa? SERIOUS? It's more like a super-luxury condominium. Who lives in this place? All the biggest rich people in this world?
"*Fufufufu*, My baby seems to really like the colors of this place. *Haha* He makes such a cute face when he's surprised."
"Hure, Aosie Vultiole alsoei *hehehe*"
"*Hahaha*Nosk tuir tieo oplir, Arkex. Vultiole ansoo ryeu no eur *haha*"
Damn, it was a trap.
