Chapter 4 Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy
Upon entering Nuoding City, Old Jack led Su Xiao and Tang San straight to Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy.
"Stop right there! Is this a place for country folk like you?" A young man stationed at the academy gate blocked their way.
Old Jack quickly produced Su Xiao and Tang San's enrollment certificates, explaining politely, "These two children are the work-study students from Holy Soul Village this year. They've come to register."
The young man sneered. "Holy Soul Village hasn't had work-study students in years. Now, two show up out of nowhere? These must be fakes."
Despite his mocking tone, he still glanced at the certificates.
"Innate full soul power? Light Holy Dragon Martial Soul? Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul? Old man, are you trying to fool me? Get out of here with these little beggars!"
With a dismissive snort, the young man tossed the enrollment certificates to the ground and raised his spear threateningly, forcing them to back off.
"What's the meaning of this?" Old Jack exclaimed angrily as he picked up the certificates. "These are official documents from the Spirit Hall!"
"Forging Spirit Hall documents is a serious crime. If you don't want trouble, leave now!" the young man snapped, pressing the spear's edge against Old Jack's shoulder.
"Grandpa Jack!" Su Xiao and Tang San shouted in unison, their concern evident.
Both activated their martial souls. The Light Holy Dragon and Blue Silver Grass materialized, exuding powerful auras.
Tang San leaped forward, delivering a precise kick that knocked the young man's spear aside. Su Xiao followed up with a punch to his abdomen.
Su Xiao's strike combined the power of the Light Holy Dragon Spirit and the Mysterious Jade Hand technique Tang San had taught him. The young man crumpled to the ground, clutching his abdomen in pain.
Struggling to his feet, he paled at the sight of Su Xiao's Light Holy Dragon Martial Soul, its imposing presence making him hesitate.
"Stop this."
A calm but authoritative voice interrupted the commotion.
A middle-aged man in a gray robe approached, his expression composed yet slightly weary.
"Master!" The young man straightened up, addressing the newcomer with respect.
Yu Xiaogang ignored him, his focus shifting to Su Xiao and Old Jack. "Are these the two children?"
"Yes, Master," Old Jack replied, relief evident in his tone. "I'll leave them in your care."
Turning to Su Xiao and Tang San, he added warmly, "Ah Xiao, Xiao San, this is the master. Ah Xiao, your admission is thanks to his help."
After a few more words of encouragement, Old Jack left, entrusting the boys to Yu Xiaogang.
Yu Xiaogang took Su Xiao and Tang San by the hand, casting a sharp look at the young man. "I don't want to see such behavior again."
On the way into the academy, Tang San asked curiously, "Master, are you the one with the same martial spirit as Ah Xiao?"
"Same martial spirit?" A flicker of regret passed through Yu Xiaogang's eyes. "Su Xiao might have a connection to me, but our martial spirits are quite different."
Turning his attention to Tang San, he added, "Your name is Tang San, correct? I'm not a teacher at this academy. Everyone here calls me 'Master.' You can call me that as well."
Su Xiao's eyes lit up. "What if we want you as our teacher?"
Tang San looked at him in surprise, while Yu Xiaogang seemed momentarily taken aback. "Let's discuss that in my office," he said after a brief pause.
Once inside Yu Xiaogang's office, Su Xiao and Tang San set their belongings aside. Yu Xiaogang wasted no time, getting straight to the point.
"Tang San, besides Blue Silver Grass, what is your other martial soul?"
Tang San stiffened, his expression darkening as murderous intent flickered in his eyes. A dagger appeared in his hand, ready to strike.
Before he could act, Su Xiao reached out, stopping him with a shake of his head.
Yu Xiaogang, oblivious to the tension behind him, continued, "It's extremely rare to be born with full soul power. In fact, no one else with Blue Silver Grass has ever been born with it- except you."
