Returning Back To School.

"I…." Cami had no idea what to say. She had felt as if she had had a lot of heartbreak, in a little time. But she was wrong. It was Caroline who had had a series of heartbreaks.

Caroline's smiles were the brightest. Because she had been hurt the most.

Some glances of which Cami could see in Klaus's smiles. When he smiled, she could see how much he had been hurt.

"It's fine, Camille." Caroline smiled, she nodded at her. "I'll be fine. Six steps of getting through emotional breakdowns being a vampire."

Cami laughed. After seeing that Caroline was serious, she stopped.

"Goodnight, Camille." She said firmly.

Caroline overslept for the first time in years. Nobody woke her up. She looked at the digital clock on the side table. 12 o'clock.

"Oh My God…!"

She rolled out of bed, and stood up. She came downstairs, and found Elijah Mikaelson in the kitchen.

"Oh..Hello." He smiled. "You must be Caroline."

Caroline smiled.

"If I must be." She smiled softly.

"Hayley is looking for you." He was pouring coffee. He handed Caroline a cup. "Something about taking Hope to school."

Caroline nodded.

"I know." She told Elijah, taking the cup. "The whole afternoon is for Hayley. It's on my schedule."

He smiled.

"I would like to know more about the school." Elijah sat down on the table. "Join me??"

Caroline nodded. She sat down.

"You know you can always come to see the school." She told him. "Now, that Hope will be going there, a reason to see it."

He smiled. Nodding.

"Maybe, I will." He told her.

Caroline and Hayley Marshall spent the rest of the day together. They discussed Hope Mikaelson's adjustment at school.

"I don't…..know." Hayley sighed. "I can't….I am not sure I want her to live in a hostel right away….ease into it."

"Okay." Caroline nodded, "She can always take up housing at my own house."

"I think that will be good." Hayley looked in a deep thought. "She hasn't gone to school….ever."

"She will adjust." Caroline told her, reassuringly. "I'll make sure of that."

Hayley nodded,

"When are you going?" She asked. "Home?"

"The day after tomorrow!" Caroline informed her.

"Then, I think I'll start packing." Hayley stood up, "And...I have to take her shopping. How am I going to do all…..?"

"Why don't I take her shopping?" Caroline suggested, "This way she'll get comfortable with me, and it'll give you time to pack up."

"That's a great idea!" Hayley got up. "I better get started!"

Caroline had thought this was going to be an errand. But, she was wrong. She enjoyed the company of little Hope Mikaelson.

After almost half an hour, Hope eased, and started to talk. She chattered excitedly, when she got to know she was starting school.

Caroline took her out to a small café for a late lunch, and was shocked to hear that this was Hope's first time outing with anyone. Hope was shocked that Caroline took her own daughters out every week for mother daughter's day. It wasn't that Hayley didn't want to, she just didn't get the time, or maybe it didn't even occur to her, since she was struggling hard to keep her safe.

"Can I go out with you again sometime?"

Hope asked her shyly, as they came back home.

"When you start school." Caroline smiled. "We can do this every week."

Hope's smile widened,

"Now, let's go show this stuff to your mother."

"Okay!" Hope excitedly ran inside the house.

Caroline Forbes wrapped up everything in New Orleans. Her one day was for Camille, and the other day was for Hayley and Hope.

Two days later, Hope Mikaelson was standing in the front yard of the house. All ready to go.

Caroline Forbes's car was standing in the gates. She wasn't there.

"Mom,...Where did Ms. Salvatore go?" She asked, waiting. "It's been twenty minutes."

"She'll come here!" Klaus told her.

Sitting on the steps next to her.

"You can trust Caroline Forbes." He told her, "She will be here."

After twenty minutes, Caroline still didn't come back.

"She's not here…." Hope pouted.

Hayley looked worried.

"I know where she is." He stood up.

"Klaus….."

"Dad…."
