Family Above Everything.

"And what about her?" She asked. "It doesn't matter why or how it happened. But, isn't he the reason you have something you always wanted?"

Hayley didn't know what to say. Family…..Family was what Hayley always wanted. And Elijah Mikaelson was quiet. He was remembering something. Recalling.

"Is Hope something you don't want?" She demanded. "Is she something you wish you never had?"

Hayley Marshall-Mikaelson couldn't say a word. She remembered that all she had ever wanted was family. And, she got it. Hope was her family. All she ever wanted. All she ever needed.

"I am bringing him back!" She told them, "And his memories."

She pointed her finger in Elijah's face.

"I didn't expect this from you."

"What?" Elijah looked at her.

"You! You call yourself the noble one!" She shouted at Elijah. "You are not noble."

"Caroline…" Elijah couldn't say more.

"The truth is that you are worse than Klaus." She looked at him.

The hate in her eyes burned him. He respected her. But, she…..she didn't, not anymore. She had lost all respect for him.

"At least Klaus owned what he did." She shook her head, "But…you! Look at yourself! What did you do to him?"

She almost ran out of the house.

Tears ran down her face. She slid down the wall and sobbed like a little child.

"I am sorry, Klaus." She whispered. "I am so sorry."

Caroline Forbes didn't expect this from Elijah and Hayley. She thought at least his brother would be happy to see him.

Elijah Mikaelson sat in that chair all day as he thought back.

"Hey…" Hayley came up to him.

She had gone to the Bayou with Hope. TO clear her mind.

"What happened?" She sat down, "What are you thinking about?"

"Just what happened this morning." He sighed.

"No, everything's going to be okay, Elijah." She sat down, "Caroline will come back to her senses."

"I don't…" He stood up. "I need some time for myself, Hayley."

He walked out of the room without waiting for Hayley's answer.

"Elijah?" She shouted.

He didn't wait. He walked the streets of New Orleans like a crazy person. The words of his brother rang in his ears. The words that were some of his last words before he had left.

"TO THINK MY CHILD WILL GROW UP TO CALL YOU FATHER!"

Klaus's expression. His face. His look….He couldn't face his brother. At the time, he had thought that Klaus had lost his mind. He had gone crazy. But, he was right, wasn't he?

He was right. That was exactly what he had done. He had stolen the life that was his brother's. Elijah deserved this life too, but the universe and nature had given that life for Klaus. Maybe, for his redemption. And, Elijah lost happiness the minute he stole Klaus's family.

Caroline was right. He was not the noble one. He had been worse than Klaus. He hated himself. Both him and Hayley were so upset that night that neither of them noticed that Freya Mikaelson never returned back home that night.

Caroline returned back home.

"Hello, Caroline." He smiled as she came inside the house.

"Oh…my….God."

"You don't like it?" He asked.

"You cooked?" She laughed. "The Great Klaus Mikaelson cooks?"

"Yeah…I really don't know if I can do that." Klaus grinned. "Cuz, you know…"

He pointed to his brain. Referring to his memory loss. She laughed.

"But, I found this." He pointed to an old recipe book in the corner.

It was her mother's.

"Why'd you cook?" She asked.

"For you." He said as if it was obvious.

She smiled.

"I love it." She sat down.

She took a bite. It was absolutely disgusting. She didn't say anything. Klaus Mikaelson cooked for her. She didn't complain. She didn't want to complain. She loved it.

He took a bite. And, spit it out immediately.

"Caroline!" He took her hand and put her fork down.

"Why are you eating this? It…"

"It's great," She smiled."It's great! Klaus!"

"No…" He stood up, "I'll order in…you know we can order food. I learned this morning."

She nodded. Stifling a smile.

"I'll order a pizza." He told her. "I ate so many things and so many people in the days you were gone. Where did you go?"

"I went to see your family."

He dropped the phone.

"My family….?" He asked. "Really?"
