Training and Pain

Denki's Pov

The door opened and there stood the purple haired boy. I was so shocked I lit my paper on fire from sparking. I patted it out. "Heh, sorry." I said to myself.

"Class, please welcome our newest student and replacement for Mineta, Hitoshi Shinso. Shinso would you mind explaining your quirk to everyone, for those who don't know."

He sighed. "My quirk is...mind control. If I ask you a question and you answer it I can take control of your mind. It's very helpful for controlling villains."

Everyone sat in silence for a second, then I said "That is so cool!" This started the wave. Midoria started ranting off questions and the girls were fawning over his muscles.

Bakugo rolled his eyes and said "Better than grape juice I guess." and Iida was trying to quiet the class.

"Class that's enough. Let him sit down and get used to this class. You'll learn more about him and his quirk as you get to know him." Aizawa stated.

"Suit up, we're doing hero training this morning." You can pick your own partners for sparring this morning. Then after that we'll break up into individual training."

Everyone ran off to go change. I put on my hero costume which consists of fabrics that don't burn when electricity goes through them. I noticed Shinso was in a basic gym uniform. But that makes sense because he got transferred here this morning. He hasn't had time to get his hero costume made yet.

I ran up to him, kinda like this morning but I didn't run into him this time. "Hi! I'm Denki Kaminari, we met this morning and I wanted to say I'm sorry for running into you. I was running late for homeroom and wasn't paying attention." He blinked at me. I was talking too fast again, a side effect of having an energy quirk is it gives you so. much. energy. I took a deep breath and slowed down

"Hi, I'm Denki and would you like to spar with me?"

Shinso Pov

"Hi, I'm Denki and would you like to spar with me?" He asked. The slowest I've heard him talk yet. I'm pretty sure he was apologizing for earlier first, I couldn't tell. I looked at him and nodded.

"Sweet!" He punched a fist into the air. We walked over to a sparring ring and took up our stances.

He was bouncing around and smiling. "What was your name again?" I asked.

"Oh it's denk-" I activated my quirk. "Walk out of the ring." And he complied.

I deactivated it when he stepped out.

"No fair!!!" He whined. I smiled a little behind my mask. "Okay let's go again." I nodded.

I started asking questions like "What's your favorite animal?" and "Are you a natural blonde?" He ignored all my questions and got closer. He was still smiling. He threw a punch and I dodged.

"Ha, now we're getting somewhere." I said. Continuing to try to get him to say something. He swung again and he grazed my mask, but in that moment his eyes lit up.

Like lit up, like a light. They were electric. My mask buzzed and short circuited. Pops of electricity fizzed out and stung me a little. I ripped it off my face and snarled.

"Oh my gosh are you -" He started, but I activated my quirk and made him walk out again. He sighed when I let him out of my control. "Should have seen that coming." But he jogged over to me. "Are you okay? I hope that didn't hurt you too much."

"I'm fine. It shocked me, it's okay." I said. He started laughing. "Shocked…! Cause I shocked you and you were...shocked!" He continued laughing until Aizawa had us split up and go do our individual practice.

Everything was going fine, I was practicing with my dad, Aizawa, and he was coaching me a little, for the first day. When all a sudden it sounded like a giant firecracker went off. There was a loud scream, and then all the lights in the building went off.

Aizawa and I bolted off to the sound of the scream. The boy with red and white hair ran towards us. "Aizawa sensei, I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened exactly. Denki, he got water on him somehow while he was practicing channeling his electricity. Then everything went haywire." Was Denki hurt?

"Kaminari?" Aizawa yelled. No answer. "Momo, can you make some flashlights?" Candy cane asked. When did she get here? Four lights showed up. She gave me one, then a few more showed up.

We walked over to where the scream came from, only for me to trip over a lump. "'I'm going to be such a great hero…" I thought to myself. "Denki?!" Momo, I think her name was, shrieked.
