CHAPTER EIGHT

<p>WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE BOSS? <br/><br/>Rhida looked at him, lost in her thoughts, she couldn't understand why it was so hard for her to break free from him, the sound made by her thumping heart was so unbelievable for her, despite knowing he is gay. <br/><br/>She had known about his sexuality from the very beginning, but somehow it didn't make her feelings any easier to ignore. She had tried to rationalize her emotions, telling herself that she shouldn't feel this way because he was not interested in women. But rationality seemed to have little power over matters of the heart.<br/><br/>Rhida couldn't help but question herself, wondering why she was unable to break free from him. She had tried, oh how she had tried, to run away but it was like her legs were glued to the floor <br/>But every time she saw him, and stare straight into his eye or caught a glimpse of the smile that formed at the corner of his lips, all her efforts crumbled into dust.<br/><br/>Yet, no matter how hard she tried to push him away, the sound of her thumping heart remained undeniable. It was a constant reminder of the internal battle she faced, torn between reason and desire. The conflicting emotions left her feeling vulnerable and confused.<br/><br/>Donald saw them from a distance and rushed to them <br/>Iver released her and she bowed down and scurried away. Iver looked at Donald who have a worried expression <br/>" You can't be doing that here! What if one of Jenny's fans sees you? What if Jenny herself sees you? You are not scared?!" Donald scolded and Iver looked away. <br/>" Why did you drag her away like that? Even if you are going to make her leave there, not roughly like that!" Donald scolded again and Iver looked at him <br/>" She looked at me, like she..." Then Iver stopped talking trying to demonstrate through his hand <br/>" so are you saying you did it for her?" Donald said and Iver nodded, smiling and giving him a 'you get it' look then Donald smiled mockingly <br/>" Then that means you use your pretty hands to cause trouble for her," Donald said and Iver looked at him curiously <br/>" Oh, you must have forgotten she was in the PR team, oh I just give them till evening, and Jenny's fan will throw a bomb. Over ninety-nine percent out of a hundred percent of Jenny's fans are in our company." <br/>" Really?" Iver said and look away, regretting what he did for the first time<br/>" I think five sleepless nights will do," Donald said and Iver's eyes lit up. <br/>" W... What?" Iver asked with a surprised look and Donald grinned mockingly and left <br/>Iver looked down, trying to figure out what to do then he looked up and saw Donald leaving <br/>" wait did he just scold me?" He asked himself <br/>" DONALD YOU ARE FIRED!!!!" He shouted after him. <br/><br/>Just like Donald said, in the evening, they started receiving calls <br/>" It's not like that, he will never do that"<br/>" This is the PR team, it's not like that but if it causes you any harm, we kindly apologize" <br/>" It's not like that but we are so sorry"<br/>" It's not how you see it, it may be a mistake if your view" <br/>" We are kindly sorry".<br/><br/>The phone calls kept pouring in, each one more angry and determined than the last. The PR team scrambled to come up with a plan to address the situation and mitigate the damage caused by their boss's actions. With their reputation on the line, they knew they had to act swiftly and decisively.<br/><br/>The team huddled together, brainstorming potential strategies to regain the trust of their customers and the public. They realized that simply apologizing over the phone wouldn't be enough; they needed tangible action to demonstrate their commitment to rectifying the situation.<br/><br/>After much deliberation, they came up with a plan. The next day, they would hold a press conference to address the incident. They would invite the media, as well as the actress and her representatives, to publicly apologize and ensure everyone that they were taking the matter seriously.<br/><br/>In the meantime, they started drafting a statement to release on their website and social media platforms. The statement acknowledged the incident and expressed their sincere apologies.<br/><br/>Iver looked at the PR team from his glass and see how they were running from one place to another, he sighed, feeling guilty for the first time then Donald came in and gestured to him that it was time to go home, Iver looked at the PR team.... Rhida before he left. <br/><br/>At night, he finds it difficult to sleep and he went back to the company, in his home wears<br/>He saw the PR team office light still up and he could hear their murmuring as they speak in a low voice. He sighed, feeling guilty. <br/>He turned back and left, having a hard time falling asleep <br/><br/>The next day, Donald gets to his boss's house and saw him already ready for the office. Donald looked at him, this was the first time he saw him ready when he got to his house. <br/>" Did you have an early schedule I wasn't aware of?" <br/>" I came up with an idea, how about I made a public apology?" Iver said and Donald removed his glasses and looked at him, trying to figure out maybe something is wrong with his ears <br/>" I just create an account, I will make an apology now and post it. What did you think? Will it lessen the PR work?" Iver asked and Donald looked at his boss, it was like he was dreaming. This can't be, not his boss, some spirit must have possessed him. <br/><br/>Donald couldn't believe what he was hearing. His boss, Iver, had always been ruthless and stubborn, never one to admit his mistakes or show vulnerability. The mere suggestion of a public apology seemed completely out of character for Iver.<br/><br/>"Uh, boss, are you feeling okay?" Donald asked cautiously, still searching for any signs of an elaborate prank or trickery.<br/><br/>Iver looked away, having a serious look and Donald's eyes widened he had always hoped that one day Iver would recognize the negative impact of his actions, but he never thought he would witness this moment.<br/><br/>Donald was speechless, unable to fully comprehend the magnitude of Iver's revelation. In all his years working for Iver, he had never seen this level of vulnerability and self-reflection.<br/><br/>Iver walked away, getting ready for the video when he realized Donald is not answering him Donald feels like he would wake up from this horrible dream, <br/>' What is wrong with his boss?' He wondered. <br/><br/>Anna rushed to her team who are getting ready for the public apology <br/>" Guys, you have to see this," She said and everyone gathered around her, they were wide-mouthed to see their mean and proud boss apologize publicly and admit his mistake. He never admits his mistakes not even for once but what is wrong with him now? <br/><br/>As they watched the live stream of their boss, they couldn't help but be stunned. He looked different somehow - his usually commanding presence was replaced by a sense of humility and vulnerability. Anna exchanged confused glances with her teammates, all sharing the same question in their minds: What had changed their boss so dramatically?<br/><br/>As he spoke, the team couldn't believe their ears. They were witnessing a true transformation before their eyes. Their once-feared and distant boss was now expressing genuine regret and remorse. It was a powerful sight to behold.<br/><br/>The team stood in awe, their skepticism slowly melting away. They began to feel a renewed sense of hope for positive change within the organization. It was as if a weight had been lifted off their shoulders, and they could finally see a glimmer of a future peaceful company<br/><br/>As the public apology concluded the team, once skeptical and resentful, found themselves experiencing a mix of emotions - surprise, relief, and even a shred of forgiveness. They understood that change wouldn't happen overnight, but for the first time, they believed that their boss was truly committed and sorry. <br/>" But how come? What happened?" They questioned themselves. <br/><br/>Rhida went down to buy some snacks for her and her teammates. She take the elevator, going back to the office, when the door opened, she was shocked to see someone in front of it <br/>It was Iver. She shifted a little and bowed a little as he came in the elevator and the door closed. <br/><br/>Iver looked at her from behind and she packed her hair roughly, she wasn't wearing makeup and she rolled up her long trouser. He felt bad about this, feeling guilty, she didn't sleep all night because of him. <br/><br/>Rhida bit down her lower lip and she wasn't feeling awkward that he saw him this way, she wished the door will open quickly and she will rush away. She doesn't know why she was feeling this way. Just as she was battling with her inner thoughts, the elevator door opened and she rushed away. Iver looked at her as she left and he also left the elevator. <br/>Donald rushed to him <br/>" Everything dried down, thanks to your apology," He said and Iver nodded. He was angry, angry at himself. <br/>Donald wondered what had happened when he is not with him <br/>They proceed to the office and Iver stopped at the PR team office and saw a woman, shouting and complaining bitterly <br/>" I wondered if he would change for the better, he is gay! The fact will never change. Thank God he switched partners, I guess the new guy he is dating is good, he must have confused him to apologize" She said and Iver looked at Rhida having an expression he doesn't understand; a Mixture of sadness, unbelievable and confusing<br/>He enter the glass room and everyone was shocked<br/>" You! You are FIRED!" He said and everywhere was quiet before he turned and left. <br/>The woman collapsed to the chair and tears blinded her. No one approached her because the next thing for her to do is to leave, that is the final decision of their mean boss. <br/>Iver looked back at Rhida who gave him a bad and unbelievable look<br/>He was confused and stopped in his tracks and then continued toward his office <br/><br/>They watched as the woman packed her things and left the office <br/><br/>Iver rolled his chair, trying to figure out the meaning of the stare but he was confused. Then he called Donald and he came in immediately <br/>" Call the woman back now, tell her I give her another chance," Iver said and Donald pinch himself hard, it was as if he was dreaming, <br/>" Huh... Uh?". Said Donald trying not to believe what he heard<br/>" Did I have to repeat myself nowadays?" He said coldly and Donald shook his head <br/>"I'm right on it," He said and rushed out <br/>Iver stare at the chain <br/>" You are breaking me Rhida," He said in a low voice<br/><br/>The PR team was surprised to the sad woman who left earlier back with a smile <br/>They were all astonished to hear their mean and never made mistake boss reconsidered what he had said earlier. <br/>" What is wrong with our boss?" Questioned Anna and others stares at her also wondering <br/><br/>Everyone on the team was happy to go home, they have planned that they could have a lot of sleepless nights but it turned out to be the opposite, thanks to the strange changes in their boss <br/><br/>Rhida got outside the company and saw Iver and Donald outside beside the car, she wanted to run away but suddenly, her vision blurred and the last thing she could remember was that familiar scent and a person who carry her gently.</p>
