Chapter 4

Do you think I'm gone? Well, think again cause I'm here!

It's been 2 months since Mary has been lying on the bed. She sometimes twitches her body and sometimes calls out for help. Raul kept helping every villager to remake their village and live anew and he also didn't forget to look out for Mary.

Early in the morning, Mary's eye slowly opened, the approaching sunlight slowly touches her face as she was showered with the gleam of light. Beside her is a table of fruits various of sizes, she gently leans on the bed contemplating what happened back then, she barely remembers what happened after she collapsed.

As she thinks deeper, someone came in and was surprised that she finally woke up.

Raul went into Mary's room, as he walks through the door, he was completely surprised as he saw Mary leaning on the bed as she was absentmindedly thinking about something. He rushes to her as he checked her pulse but he was met with a slap "Who are you?"

Mary saw him pulling her hand as if he was a creep lusting on her. She slaps him and asks who he is, the man suddenly realized something, he walked back as he scratches his head "I'm so sorry, I'm just a little bit excited since you already woke up, as it's been 2 months since you are asleep"

Raul scratches his head as he apologizes for his rude behavior.

"Y-You are a Marine right?" Mary suddenly realized who the man was, she suddenly snatched an apple from the table near her and throw it at Raul. "I-If you were all there my brother wouldn't have died!"

"Calm down, you are still weak right now"

"Get away from me!" She grabs another apple on the table and attempted to throw it again but before she could do that Raul clutched her hand but not so tight.

"You can throw everything at me but please calm yourself first, your brother would not like it if you were to injure yourself"

"Don't ever mention that to me! You don't understand how I feel!"

Raul sighed and grabbed a chair nearby as he laid on it "Listen, kid, I know that I can't ease up your anger and grief but nothing will change even if you pull a gun and kill me, nothing will change, it may lessen your hate but the criminal who did it to him are still running amok and might do the same thing on others, do you think your brother would want you to hurt yourself and other people?"

"S-Shut your mouth, y-you wouldn't feel it! You wouldn't!" Mary grabbed a pillow and throw it to Raul as tears started to fall on her cheeks. She's her only family, her brother who's always been there when she cried, the only person who understands her, and the only person who has taught her. Life is always been great when she was with him, she could feel the warmness of his smile and the gentleness of a brother.

Raul can't help but to feel her pain, he leaned closer to her and wipe her tears "I'm sorry you're hurting so much, but we can't do anything, it's no use crying over spilled milk but lucky for you you still have those people near you, they care for you so don't be so down on yourself, it may hurt even if time passes by but don't let yourself carry the pain"

As Mary listens to his words she lightly nods her head but didn't say anything, Raul just sighed and walked through the door "If you have other problem just call me"

Mary sat on the bed and looked through the window, the bright sun hovers upon the island as birds chirp around the trees. This is one of Mary's favorite views, like every morning when she wakes up she would open the window and joyfully watch the beauty of the morning. She was a cheerful girl but because of the incident she suddenly changes "What are you doing now brother" she muttered to herself.

The night comes, Raul carried a tray holding a bowl of porridge and juice to Mary's room, he peeked through the door and saw Mary lying on the bed, she's watching the stars on the window as they glimmer on the horizon, the moon's bright light flutter through the air as it adds up to the surrounding making it more beautiful.

Raul knocks on the door as he slightly opens it "I have brought you some food, you did not eat this morning so I brought this to you, there was an old woman who persistently made this for you"

Mary glanced in his direction, she saw a steaming bowl and a glass full of orange juice. She already knew who was the one who made the food, it is grandma Pina, she also lost her son and grandson during the invasion of the pirate but here she is making food for someone instead of her griefing on her loss. Mary bitted her lips as she tells Raul to put it on the table.

Raul just puts the tray and left without saying anything, he knows that Mary is still sad about her brother's sudden death but after mentioning the granny he saw that there was a slight glimmer of change in her.

Days went by and soon it became a month, Mary became comfortable staying on her bed, she became a little bit cheerful and her thin body also regains weight, the pale skin she has also regained its color. Granny Pina also visits her every day making her happy, Raul just stayed outside the room as he only leans on the door and watches their interaction.

"Sir!" Irka saluted to Raul as he played great news to him.

"The Marines who I called last 2 months have told us that Betch is spotted near Centaurea, he must be changing the parts of his ship for them to move on to Reverse Mountain but on the other hand the Marines also told us that they are already near here and they will need another day"

"That's good to hear, let us all ready our items of baggage and wait for their arrival, let's soon corner them up before they could run away again"

Raul walk through his house as he readied all the necessary items he will need before going, as he is doing this someone arrived at the door, Raul glanced there and saw Mary staring at him and suddenly asked him "So you are going?"

"Yeah, the Marines will arrive tomorrow so I will need to pack up my stuff, we'll soon move to where Betch is" Raul clenched his fist as his eyes glints with determination.

"Uhmm.." Raul saw Mary wanted to tell him something but he can see her hesitating.

"What is it?"

"I-Im sorry about what I have done back then, I was just angry about what happened"

"Don't worry about it kid, I have already forgiven you besides if it were me I would also do the same"

Mary slightly nodded as she suddenly said "Please be alright"

"Hahaha! Don't worry kid I wouldn't die like that besides I've already made you one of my family" Raul said as he made a thumbs up while his teeth glitter as he smiles.

"W-What?" Mary was flustered, that was unexpected, she only knew him as he was always helping her but that was sudden.

"Are you surprise kid? Hahaha! I've made that promise with your brother!" Raul meticulously smiled as he packs his items of baggage.

Maru suddenly turns around as she mutters "Thank you.."

"What was that?"

"Nothing!" Mary said as she runs off outside.

"That brat, but good for her she suddenly becomes energetic, if only she could have someone whom she'll trust, hayz~"

As Mary runs off to her brothers grave she suddenly saw something, an abyss of infinite darkness has opened near the grave, it screams fear and death to someone who sees it but that didn't matter to Mary, what matters is that someone suddenly came out in there, his body was covered with blood as his clothes are full with taints of dry and fresh blood.

Well, that was unexpected, what a huge delay! I didn't log in for a whole 2 weeks, welp I've been playing too much and suddenly forgot about this but don't you worry I'll be having a huge mass release so be patient ψ(｀∇´)ψ
