Unraveling a Sinister Plot

Due to the blend of her skills and spiritual energy here, also being an all element spiritual root, she is more sensitive to the energies. Though the dark energy is dormant in her dantian, she can still feel it. Those who do not have dark spiritual root cannot absorb dark energy. But in case if dark energy enter their system, their dantian will show adverse effects and slowly rupture their dantian. First it will effect their cultivation and then they will slowly become cripple.

Chujiu felt dark energies surrounding Cai Wei and Cai Meiying just now. To verify, she have to check their systems. Only those who have dark spiritual root can detect the dark energies of a person or in the surrounding environment.

The Divine Phoenix continent do not have much dark energy and hence nobody has ever awaken such spiritual root so far. She is an exception. Probably her mother's background has a role in this but since she could not verify that at this moment she has put the matter a side temporarily.

Confused, Cai Wei and Meiying approached Chujiu. Chujiu gently took their pulses, her fingers delicately assessing the subtle rhythms of their spiritual energies.

As Chujiu analyzed their pulses, her worst fears materialised. She detected faint traces of dark energies acting like a slow-acting poison coursing through their meridians. Chujiu's eyes narrowed, "You've been poisoned," she declared, trying to assess the gravity of the situation. She did not mention dark energy and simply said that they are poisoned. 

Only her and close family knew about her spiritual root.

Confused at first, Cai Wei and Meiying looked at each other. Then, as Chujiu explained what she saw, their faces turned to worry. "How can this be happening?" Cai Wei stammered, her voice shaky and eyes wide with fear and disbelief.

"There's no time to waste," Chujiu said, her mind working fast to find a solution. "Something's poisoning you both. It will slow down your training and weaken your powers in a month or two."

Seeing the fear in their eyes, Chujiu gave them a firm look. "Don't worry, I won't let this happen. We'll find a way to fix it."

Chujiu immediately headed towards eldest uncle's study room. He was studying some accounts and was surprised to see Little jiu.

"Little jiu, what brings you here. Aren't you cultivating?"

"Eldest uncle…" Chujiu was stunned to see that her uncle is surrounded by faint traces of dark energy as well.

Looking at his niece who is speechless, he stood up and walked towards where Chujiu is standing. He held her shoulder and asked with worry, "What is wrong little jiu. Tell uncle, I will handle it for you".

Chujiu came back to her senses and quickly took his wrist to check his pulse. She slowly sent her spiritual sense in to her uncle's system. Lin Shihong did not stop her spiritual sense and let her do what she want.

Though he is confused, he decided to wait until she tell him what that matter is.

Chujiu observed faint traces of dark energy in her uncle's dantian which is acting the same way as in Cai sisters. She did not say anything about it and only said "Eldest uncle, I will come back in a moment". Saying that she left hurriedly to visit her grandfather.

Though Master Lin is confused, he decided to wait until little jiu comes back. He felt something is amiss.

Chujiu hurriedly approached grandfather Lin who is resting on a chair in his courtyard.

"Grandfather, give me your hand". As soon as Chujiu approached grandfather Lin, she started taking his pulse and sent her spiritual sense. She detected the same but before she could say something she fell down. Before she could hit the floor, grandfather Lin caught her and found that she has fainted already.

He worriedly lifted and shouted for his servants. Quickly housekeeper Lin approached and saw that old master Lin is walking with their young miss in his arms who seems to have fainted.

"Old Master, what happened to young miss?" he asked while pushing the door to make way for old master.

Grandfather Lin slowly placed little jiu on the bed and ordered housekeeper Lin to bring their physician and also inform his eldest son and his wife.

Soon Madam Lin and Master Lin rushed to the grandfather Lin's court yard and entered the bedroom where Chujiu was being treated.

Physician has just come and is checking her condition. Grandfather Lin explained to them what happened to Chujiu in a low voice.

Soon Master Lin said, "Father, just now Little Jiu checked my pulse too and came to look for you. She did not say anything to me except asked me to wait in the study and said she will come back in a moment"

While Grandfather Lin is in deep thought, physician has completed his diagnosis and came to report.

"There is nothing wrong with young miss's health. She just over exhausted her energies and fainted. She recently recovered from coma and maybe she is still weak. I will prescribe medicine to replenish her. Use it twice a day".

"Thank you Physician Cao, please send it over and I will feed it to her", Madam Lin came forward and thanked physician Cao.

Master Lin asked, "When will she wakeup, Physician Cao?"

"Don't worry, she will wakeup by the time it takes a stick of incense to burn"

After a while, Chujiu woke up to a room full of worried faces. Her family - Eldest Uncle (Lin Shihong), Grandpa, and Eldest Aunt Su Yingxue - were all there, looking anxious. She sent servants away to make sure no one overheard, and then started telling them what she found.

"Grandpa, all of you are affected with dark energies and they must have entered your bodies within these two days. We have to find the source and also check all the people in our manor."

All 3 of them are shocked and could not speak for a few seconds. How could they be poisoned with dark energies?

Why didn't they detect anything themselves?
